00:00One of the things that David said earlier is that the president didn't really set out the case to the
00:05American public in a very clear way.
00:08And I'm just wondering what you've made of the messaging from from the White House since the outset, because, you
00:14know, the going back to the timeline, that shifted quite a lot from a couple of days to a couple
00:19of weeks.
00:20And now where are we? Yeah. And David is right.
00:23I mean, President Trump had multiple messages come out and we're like wondering which one is it which one is
00:29it today?
00:30The original message was we want to free the people of Iran. And I think that has run its course.
00:35I think people are happy. Americans are very happy to do that.
00:39We want to see freedom. We want to see some level of trust in their government that doesn't constantly wish
00:44death to America.
00:46But at the same time, at what cost? Right now that all Americans are paying for that, whether it be
00:52at the gas pump or in our groceries because of this conflict,
00:56we're now saying, huh, well, how much freedom do we want to give him?
01:00Well, there's a bit of a trade off. So I think I think that was the initial messaging.
01:06Then we're also hearing that this has to do with China and Russia and how this is going to be
01:12Trump's posturing going into his meeting with Xi Jinping later on this month.
01:18All fine and well, you know, we do need to posture to have a stronghold to negotiate a fair trade
01:24deal for the United States with China.
01:27But again, end of the month is still a long time away.
01:31And so I think that's what he's trying to straddle right now.
01:34I think phase one of this conflict has to be over soon.
01:38We're not going to leave anytime soon. These wars, we know, never end in two days or 12 days or
01:44even two months, but we can't stay there forever.
01:47So phase one has to kind of shift. And as David said, we should declare victory there because we are
01:52winning.
01:53We've taken out a lot of their military. Now, phase two is going to be more of the watch and
01:58monitor stage.
01:59I hope we get there soon.
