00:00Police will use the River Thames to block thousands of protesters from clashing in
00:04London during the Al Quds Day march. It's thought to be the first time Scotland Yard
00:09has used the river as a physical barrier to keep a large-scale protest and
00:13counter-protests apart. Police chiefs believe the demonstration could
00:17potentially attract 12,000 people or more when it takes place on Sunday amid the
00:22war in Iran. At least 1,000 officers from the Metropolitan Police and forces
00:27around the country are being drafted in to patrol the crowds with more made
00:32available if needed. Met Assistant Commissioner Adi Adelikan has warned
00:37that measures taken by police cannot guarantee disorder will not take place
00:41but it's hoped the measures will mitigate disruption.
