00:07In the beginning, when did you realize that Tepit is something special?
00:15Ooh, I've been, I live in a bubble of just, I don't know, I think LA is a bubble for
00:22sure,
00:24and nothing's changed drastically for me. Yeah, I mean, I noticed when I look terrible and I go
00:33outside, I get recognized a lot. Like when I'm not looking like this and I'm going to the gym
00:38or I'm like hungover in a CVS, like so many people be like, whoa, whoa, whoa. And it was especially
00:44when the show was coming out. And so I was like, this is kind of nuts, especially because it's my
00:49first big project as a lead role. And so I just haven't experienced anything that's not this.
00:56So yeah, it was kind of crazy just like... It always is when you're looking terrible
01:01though too. Yeah. It's always that. Worst time, at the worst possible time.
01:06Empathy is the core of the show. And I ask you, is empathy a superpower nowadays? What do you think?
01:14I think, I think it is. Empathy is something I think most of the world lacks and it can totally
01:22be a superpower. And, um, I think both of our characters are specifically extra empathetic
01:30people. And, um, I think that is what connects us best with our patients and how we're able
01:36to do, you know, what our characters are able to do. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I, I absolutely agree.
01:43It's a superpower. I feel sad that it is in a weird way. Like, like I wish we all just
01:48had more of it
01:49for each other. Um, and I, I agree. Both of our characters are very empathetic people and I, I,
01:55I would hope in, in seeing them exist on the show, see how they interact with patients, even patients
02:00they don't necessarily agree with, um, on all things. I would, I would hope that, um, people
02:06use that as an example. Yeah. The Peter says that community is the holy thing that can, can save us.
02:15Do you agree with that? Yeah, I think, I definitely think that community is, is the most important
02:22thing, especially in like an environment, like an emergency department, um, without the ability to,
02:29um, share your own experiences and be able to care for patients by, by using you and everyone around
02:39you as, uh, as part of the equation. Yeah. Yeah. I also feel like even filming the show, like community
02:46is everything, you know, like we were able to like lean on each other and, and, and get through this
02:52experience, which is so crazy. And, and it's, it's, it's so many long days and, and it's such a long
02:58shoot, but you know, we all, we all really make sure we take care of each other. I think. Yeah.
03:03We
03:03don't do a great job taking care of ourselves. No, but each other, we've got each other.
03:10A doctor is always under pressure. How do you handle pressure in your work?
03:18Probably not. I probably don't handle that the way I should.
03:23Um, yeah. Just ball of anxiety sometimes stays there. Yeah. To be really honest, I've really
03:29been struggling with that this season because, um, Samira does not have a good day. Um, Mel also
03:36does not have a terrible day. It's a really bad day. And I, it's, it's actually been really hard
03:40for me to be able to like step out of, uh, out of character. There's so many days where I'll
03:45just
03:46like, like we a day off and I'll just be feeling terrible. I'll be like, everything sucks. And it's
03:50like this person's fault and this person's fault. And I'll be like, Oh no, it's just cause I,
03:54I've been having a really bad day for three months living in the same hour for two weeks.
04:00And you count up the hours you actually slept and you go, Oh, that's not enough. That's why I feel
04:03terrible. Got it. And like all of the different things. Yeah. So I, I, I mean, I, I do think
04:07it's
04:08a process that we're, we're figuring out. Still trying to figure out. I love my weighted blanket.
04:12I love massages. Massages are really, really helpful. Um, so yeah, that's my, that's my pro
04:18tip. After the Peter, do you see doctors differently?
04:24Uh, definitely. I think I find myself and I just keep forgetting that it's just weird to
04:31do that. Um, but yeah, I always want to be like, hi, we're scrubs too. And it doesn't
04:37work. Yeah. I feel like I'm such a weirdo now with them. I'm just like, thank you. Thank
04:43you so much for everything you do. I don't know how you do it. And they're just sort of
04:46like, man, this isn't Wendy. Cause I, I mean, I just like moving through this. I'm kind of
04:54like, I, I, I don't know how people do it. I don't know how. No. And we have emergency
04:59doctors to, to talk to and we still, they kind of go, I don't know. Yeah. I don't know
05:07much respect for people in medicine. Thank you. Thank you for your time. Thank you. Bye.
05:13Thanks. Ciao.
