00:00Hi, Valentina Rieti Italy, movie player.
00:02Nice to see you.
00:03Nice to see you, Valentina.
00:04Hello.
00:24In the previous movie, you showed us great love and respect
00:28for the original props, but here we have a new one, the Ecto-2C.
00:34I want to know everything.
00:36Tell me everything.
00:37Okay, well, you've come to the right place
00:39because I was so excited to be able to bring this new vehicle
00:43to life on the screen.
00:44I'll tell you, first of all, no one's asked me about it,
00:46so you're the first person I get to tell this to.
00:48I drew my inspiration from a photograph I found
00:53of Dan Aykroyd from 1974, 1975.
00:56He used to ride an almost exact motorcycle,
01:03a Harley-Davidson panhead soft tail,
01:06and there's this incredible photo.
01:08It's a black-and-white photo of him
01:09in a field somewhere at night riding this thing,
01:13and it was so clear that this was the bike
01:18that Ray Stance would choose to customize
01:22as his own sort of undercover ghost-busting vehicle
01:28for the city,
01:29and also that it would have its own story.
01:33And if you're really detailed and watching this thing
01:37on a big screen,
01:38you'll notice that there are some faded decals
01:40on the motorcycle.
01:41It's a decommissioned New York City police motorcycle.
01:45And so just in the same way that Ecto-1
01:48had a former life as an ambulance
01:53way back in its former glory days,
01:56so too does Ray's motorcycle.
01:59Amazing.
02:00I love that.
02:00But the movie is also full of references
02:05to the animated series,
02:07like The Possessed Ecto-1.
02:09Why did you choose to bring so much elements
02:13from the animated series?
02:14Well, first of all,
02:16because the series was great and we're fans.
02:19Of course.
02:20Jason and I love real Ghostbusters.
02:22We talked about it right from the beginning
02:25of our conversations,
02:26even on Afterlife.
02:27although with Afterlife we had a very different goal,
02:30which was just rekindling the spark of Ghostbusters.
02:33Once that spark was rekindled
02:35and the flame was burning,
02:37we knew we could now go a little bit wilder.
02:40And that is the core inspiration
02:42from that animated series.
02:44Every week that show would introduce
02:46new and terrifying villains,
02:49new mythologies that would take us
02:51all over the world
02:52to draw their inspiration from.
02:54that creativity,
02:57that inventiveness
02:58was really liberating
03:00and helped to sort of free us
03:03from the world of Gozer and of Vigo
03:06and meant we could now introduce
03:08a new character like Garaka
03:10with his own mythology
03:12and his own set of tools.
03:15I love that Winston here
03:16is the big shot now.
03:19He's the big boss.
03:21Justice for Winston.
03:22How important was it to you?
03:24Absolutely.
03:24I mean,
03:24one of the cool things
03:26about making a chapter
03:29of a film story
03:30that began first 40 years ago
03:34is that you can write
03:36to an arc of a character
03:38that doesn't take place
03:39over days or weeks,
03:41takes place over decades.
03:43And it's so cool to know
03:44that Winston came in
03:46just looking for a steady paycheck
03:49in 1984
03:50and that now
03:52through his camaraderie,
03:55his partnership
03:56with the other Ghostbusters,
03:58he is able to grow
04:01as a man,
04:03as a businessman
04:04and hasn't forgotten his roots
04:06and is able to invest
04:07and double down
04:08on making sure
04:09that Ghostbusting
04:10can continue into the future.
04:11I love that Ray
04:12is really an important
04:14mentor figure
04:15to the new Ghostbusters.
04:17And who's the best one?
04:19Him or Yoda
04:20as a mentor figure?
04:21You want?
04:22I'm biased,
04:24although I would love
04:25to see a Ray Yoda
04:26team up on screen.
04:29I feel like they would get
04:30into a feedback loop
04:31of philosophy
04:33and supernatural illusions.
04:36but I'm incredibly proud
04:40of the work
04:42that Dan Aykroyd
04:43did in this film.
04:44I think that he brought
04:46Ray's stance back
04:47in a big way
04:48and seeing Ray
04:49take center stage
04:51on screen
04:52and share his wisdom
04:54as a lifelong Ghostbuster,
04:58you know,
04:59this is the stuff
05:00that makes fans like me
05:01get really excited.
05:03Yes.
05:03Thank you so much.
05:04Thank you.
05:05Great work.
05:05Thank you.
05:06Appreciate it.
05:06Bye.
05:16Certo.
