00:00When this thing first came out on Sunday, it was my first reaction.
00:04When I saw the lineup, I went, oh, this is a big league lineup.
00:07This is like an opening day kind of lineup.
00:09And I mean, I'll run through it for you just quickly so you have an idea.
00:13Well, I have it.
00:14If you want me to just do it real quick.
00:15Go ahead.
00:16Yeah, go.
00:17So here was the lineup.
00:18Roman Anthony designated here leading off.
00:21Is he going to DH?
00:23He is if the other outfielders are who they got on the lineup.
00:26Yep.
00:27Stories at short, batting second.
00:29Duran in left, batting third.
00:32Contreras at first in the, that would make it the cleanup spot.
00:37Willio Abreu in right, batting fifth.
00:39The newly traded for Caleb Durbin at third, sixth.
00:44Zidane Raffaella seventh in center.
00:46Narvaez catching eighth.
00:48And then Kiner Falefa at second base, batting ninth.
00:52So, yeah, I think that's pretty accurate.
00:55I mean, I think that's how they project.
00:56And look, I'll just, because you mentioned it, Anthony's going to play sometime in the
01:01outfield.
01:02But all things being equal, they like Duran better in the outfield, I think, because he
01:06covers more ground.
01:07So as a left fielder, you know, there have been mixed numbers on Duran.
01:11I happen to think he's better in left and center.
01:13But whatever.
01:14That's going to be it.
01:14You'll see some rotation among the outfielders in DH.
01:18You know, two things struck me.
01:21One is that Duran's going to hit third and Anthony's going to lead off.
01:25And not that that's a big deal.
01:26They were leading off Anthony last year.
01:28But I'm eager to see whether Duran is good enough to be a number three hitter.
01:32I know lineups aren't constructed the same way they used to be.
01:35Not even close.
01:37I mean, you know, look, it's, you know, he's not that kind of guy.
01:40If he plays like he did two years ago, maybe, but I don't think he's that kind of hitter.
01:45The real thing is at the bottom of the lineup.
01:47This is really where the only intrigue is all of this spring, as far as their positional
01:52roster is concerned.
01:53And that is that who's going to play second base.
01:56And what does this mean for Marcelo Meyer?
01:58And those are really part of the same question.
02:01So they have kind of full effort playing second base over Meyer.
02:05Now Meyer was not ready to play in games when they posted the lineup this week.
02:10In other words, he's not going to start playing in his first games until the end of this week
02:14because he's recovering from surgery.
02:16But Meyer is really the biggest story down there.
02:19If you ask me, he hasn't.
02:22Cora keeps dumping on him every chance he gets.
02:25It feels like he's, you know, criticizing him for anything and everything.
02:29Get his hands on.
02:30And he does not sound like a favorite of Alex Cora's.
