00:05It's fantastic to be here today in Nowra at the launch of our upgraded NSW workplace
00:12hub.
00:13I'm a really proud public servant and when I come to places like this and I see the investment
00:19that has been made in creating great workplaces for our NSW public servants, that makes me
00:26feel proud and it makes me feel that our work is really valued by the community and by the
00:33people of NSW.
00:34It's also always particularly special to see our workplaces in the regions.
00:39I absolutely believe that we are a better department at the Department of Planning, Housing
00:45and Infrastructure for having staff throughout NSW.
00:49It means we can better understand regional and rural issues and that our workforce represents
00:54the diversity of NSW itself.
00:57So today is a pretty special day and I'm really looking forward to seeing my teams from Crown
01:02Lands and Office of Local Government move into their terrific new spaces.
01:06Thanks to everyone who's worked so hard to make this happen.
01:14Property Development NSW has been embarked on a program of renewing its workplaces across
01:21NSW over at least the last decade.
01:24The launch today of the refurbished hub here in Noworra is the latest milestone in that program.
01:33It is fantastic delivering new offices that bring our regional offices up to the standard
01:39of our workplaces in metropolitan Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong.
01:44The equity, the access it provides to public servants across the state to deliver their best work because they're working
01:55in quality workspaces is something that's really important to property and development in NSW.
01:59And so today's launch with the Minister, with the Secretary is very important for us.
02:06It's just another step along the way and with new workplaces in Coffs Harbour, Dubbo and the
02:12like not too far behind it's a pretty exciting time for Property and Development NSW.
02:16So my congratulations to the team in Property and Development NSW, the commercial development
02:21and management team for their hard work that is delivering really great outcomes for the
02:27people of NSW and in particular the public servants, the work for the NSW Government.
02:37All NSW Government employees should have access to high quality and fit for purpose office accommodation
02:45and the aim of Property and Development NSW is to ensure that all government owned office buildings
02:51meet this standard.
02:52And is there an aspect of this resource that you want to do?
02:56I'm most proud of the fact that this facility will have amenities that rival those provided
03:02in our metropolitan offices.
03:04Staff will have access to end of trip facilities, to EV charging and to onsite communal areas
03:12to be able to connect across divisions and work in an environment which is open and transparent
03:20and really facilitate great outcomes from the work they do.
03:29Yeah, look, Intermain are engaged to do a full building transformation here in Nowra.
03:34Starting in the basement, there's a full end of trip facility down there, along with
03:39some all new line marking and car parking, moving up to the ground floor, it's a full
03:45transformation there with a new lobby, integrated works with all the workstations.
03:50Up to level one, we've got new full set of bathrooms, inclusive of 900 square metres of new fit out
03:58for the six entities
04:00that are moving into the space.
04:01Moving up to level two, what we'll be doing is new bathrooms up there, completely demolishing
04:08the floor to getting ready for a new government tenant throughout.
04:13And what was the most challenging aspect of the job is probably the location, but I think we
04:20kind of took that as an opportunity to reach out to the local supplies subcontractors.
04:26So we've had over 180 contractors on site with around 40 to 50 contractors locally.
04:34So we wanted to support Shoalhaven and the Nowra community.
04:38You know, I mean, that's forfeit cars that needed to be real and global to survive.
04:38So for two feet, there are probably, anyways, the Living Browns are going
04:38Right, cafe can really help me, but if you can actually help me then.
04:38And everybody can come slowly.
