00:00So...
00:06Just because you were number one once does not mean you will be again.
00:09I will be number one.
00:11Who are you?
00:12I'm Kate.
00:14I'm here to win the prize.
00:16They pick one girl and one boy for the contract for the Paris Opera Ballet.
00:20In this movie, the ballet scenes are shot almost like boxing matches.
00:25I was playing those scenes.
00:28I never thought of it that way.
00:30I've never, that's an amazing interpretation.
00:32Wow.
00:32It really does feel like...
00:33Oh wow, it's like the prize dance, it's like the ring.
00:35I thought about that part.
00:37Yesterday?
00:38Or no?
00:39Or like in general?
00:39In general.
00:40It really was set up like a boxing...
00:41I mean, we're fighting for the prize.
00:45Sorry, you asked a question.
00:47Sorry.
00:48It was terrifying.
00:50Because we were amongst professional dancers.
00:52Legit, actual dancers.
00:53And they were all super supportive and amazing, but it was still terrifying to be vulnerable
00:56knowing that we didn't come from that background and we had to just...
01:00We didn't want to disrespect the dancers in any way.
01:03We just wanted to get to as close as possible to it as we could, but it was scary.
01:08They were so nice too.
01:09They were like, you guys are actors.
01:11Like, no one is expecting you to be a world class dancer.
01:14You know?
01:14Like...
01:15Which was really nice and always...
01:16I feel like that took the pressure off of us having to like, be super nervous or anxious
01:21while doing it.
01:22I mean, obviously I was still super nervous and anxious while doing it.
01:25But...
01:26No, it was like...
01:27But it was also really fun.
01:28I mean, the Romeo and Juliet sequence, we were all there until like three in the morning.
01:31And everyone was...
01:33I mean, so much coffee was consumed that night.
01:37And like people just in their like little booties, like sleeping in their robes.
01:41I mean, I don't know.
01:42It was really fun.
01:43It was scary, but fun.
01:45Your character says to your character that you forced me to face myself and now I'm free.
01:52It's not easy.
01:53How can we do it?
01:55Oh gosh.
01:56I wish...
01:56I mean, I'm still trying to figure that out for myself.
01:58I really think it does come down to sitting with yourself.
02:03And I think first and foremost we have to talk about it openly and create that space
02:07that there's less stigma around it.
02:08But so just finding support with one another, being honest about it,
02:12and then just really accepting that support.
02:14And then starting the journey with either therapy or whatever works for you and where you are.
02:18I mean, it's different for everyone, but...
02:20Yeah.
02:20I think it's a lifelong journey to find peace within yourself and grow.
02:24It's not linear either.
02:25No.
02:26It goes up and down.
02:28Healing and growth are not linear.
02:30Nope.
02:31No.
02:34Another line of the movie is you're an artist, not a puppet.
02:39You are actresses.
02:41So how can you manage to be artists and not just puppets?
02:46I think it's working with people that see you as an artist and not as a puppet.
02:54I mean, we also both started in modeling, which is very much like you are a puppet.
02:59And so there's a lot more freedom in acting and in working with creatives who are open to collaborating.
03:05And it's not about like, oh, my idea is better than yours.
03:08But it's just like, what are everyone's ideas and the best idea when?
03:11Like, when?
03:12You know what I mean?
03:12It's like, let's try them out.
03:13Let's try things out.
03:14Because there's so much room to grow, especially even when you first get a script.
03:21You know, nothing's really set in stone until the movie's out.
03:26And I think it's like, you know, I personally don't, wouldn't want to like work with someone
03:33who like doesn't think I have good ideas because I'm like the actor and that's it.
03:37You know?
03:38Yeah.
03:39I couldn't have said it better myself.
03:42What's more important in your opinion?
03:46Achieving greatness or just doing what makes you happy?
03:50Doing what makes you happy.
03:53Easier said than done in this world we live in.
03:57But I think that's for sure the goal to always kind of return to that.
04:01Yeah.
04:02It's easy to get caught up in your ego of like, I need to be great.
04:06I need to be this.
04:07I need to be this thing.
04:08But it's always in those moments where like, you do the thing that you think makes you great
04:12and you're deeply unhappy.
04:14Yeah.
04:14Which we see happen with Kate.
04:16Like, she gets everything she wants and yet she's still unhappy.
04:20Yeah.
04:20You know?
04:21Cause it's not like, I don't know.
04:23It's like not about.
04:24It's external happiness or external reasons you're doing it for.
04:27It's like, like, like friendships and your family, like relationships, like going on a hike.
04:33I don't know.
04:34Those are things that are fulfilling, you know?
04:37And it's not about being great.
04:38It's just being, you know, finding peace and being happy.
04:41Yeah.
04:42Okay.
04:43Thank you so much.
04:43Great work.
04:44Bye.
04:45Sorry.
04:45Bye.
04:46Bye.
04:48Bye.
