00:02Silenzio!
00:04Rompo le cose.
00:05Che ne pensi?
00:07Se tu rompi qualcosa, io posso aggiustarlo.
00:09So, young people, such as yourselves,
00:13are at the heart of the X-Men franchise,
00:17the X-Men stories,
00:19the young people's vulnerability and potential
00:21and evolution.
00:24But a theme that resonates with young people
00:26is also the challenging of authority.
00:29In Dark Phoenix, the authority of Charles Xavier is questioned.
00:34And so, I wondered,
00:36how do you relate to authority?
00:38Are you challengers or compliers?
00:41It depends.
00:43Really?
00:43Yeah, I think whether there's reasoning behind it.
00:47I think it's important to acknowledge what someone's saying
00:52and acknowledge their beliefs and debate it.
00:57I think you shouldn't just take somebody's word for it.
01:01Yeah.
01:02If it goes against your morals and beliefs,
01:04obviously you have to stand up for yourself,
01:05which sometimes can be a little terrifying and ostracizing.
01:10But, yeah.
01:12I don't know.
01:13I think that's one of the exciting things that this film explores,
01:16especially for Charles.
01:17I don't think we've ever seen him in that place
01:19where his ego has become bigger than himself
01:23and he's starting to make decisions that are more beneficial for his ego
01:29than the rest of the X-Men team.
01:31and some people, you know, call his bluff.
01:34Yes.
01:35But I think that's the thing about authority,
01:37is if you don't challenge it, it can get comfortable.
01:40And then in those moments where they have all the hubris in the world,
01:45Charles is a perfect example of that,
01:48is that you lose sight of why you got into a place of authoritative,
01:53of, you know, why you became the leader,
01:56which is to take care of people, not to use them.
02:01Yeah.
02:01What a thought.
02:03Great.
02:03Yeah, thank you.
02:05And so on to my next question.
02:07You are all returning to these characters, Evan,
02:10not for the first time.
02:12So what are they going through right now in the X-Men narrative?
02:17And what do you see in a few years?
02:22Where are they going?
02:23What do you expect for them?
02:25And what do you wish for them?
02:27For Cyclops and Storm and Quicksilver.
02:31I think Quicksilver has sort of joined the X-Men now
02:36and is fighting with them and using his power in tandem
02:39with other people's powers to fight crime and save people.
02:45And I think it's a mature decision.
02:48and I think he's also leading some of the students.
02:52I would hope that eventually he goes and finds Magneto
02:55and tells him that he's his son
02:58and then they can go fight crime together.
03:02Or just hang out.
03:03Or fight Charles, you know, down with the ego.
03:07That kind of thing.
03:09But we'll see.
03:11Well, where you find Storm in this movie is it's now the 90s.
03:15She is a huge member of the team.
03:18And she is also a teacher at the school.
03:22So you get to see just how much of a caretaker she is
03:26when it comes to not only the people that she works with on her team,
03:30but also the kids that go to that school.
03:33You really do see her love and her connection for all of these people.
03:37And hopefully in the next, in the future, in a couple of years,
03:42I see Storm really kind of taking on more of a role in the X-Men.
03:50I see it as kind of like when Storm and Cyclops ran the X-Men after Charles leaves.
03:59That's kind of where I see it going.
04:02Yeah, like the comics.
04:05Yeah.
04:05Yeah.
04:06We did that in the comics.
04:10Also, did they explore that in any of the other, I think the first three X-Men movies?
04:15Yeah, like the cartoon.
04:17Yeah.
04:18Cool.
04:19Let's do it.
04:20What about you?
04:20What about you?
04:21Yeah, buddy.
04:21Come on, man.
04:22No, I'm just kind of, I just got lost in my imagination listening to you guys.
04:27Love it.
04:28Yeah, that's...
04:29Where do we find Scott and where do we see him going?
04:32Okay.
04:33He is going through a lot.
04:34Yeah, so I think what's, I mean, what's exciting about these movies is that you have like,
04:39you know, 10 years in the intervals between these chapters.
04:41And so obviously a lot changes in 10 years.
04:44And when we, you know, in the last film we saw Gene and Scott
04:47and their relationships start to blossom.
04:49Now they're, it's much more of a, they've been together for 10 years.
04:52It's much more concrete.
04:53And so when he loses her and she begins to slip away from her family, I think it's, you
05:01know, he's dealing with that loss and really struggling with that and trying to save the
05:05woman that he loves.
05:07Even, even though some of the X-Men think that she's, you know, she's gone too far.
05:12Um, so I think that's what he's wrestling with in this film.
05:15And then I think that would obviously, you know, come into play, I think in the future.
05:19And, you know, I don't want to spoil anything, you know, for how this movie ends, but, uh,
05:24I think it, you know, it could be some continuation of that for sure.
05:43And this movie in the end is really about family.
05:47It's really about, uh, family supporting, uh, each other in, uh, difficult times.
05:53Um, as, uh, actors who are returning to, uh, a set to a scenario together, do you feel
06:00a bit like a family with the producers, writers, and colleagues?
06:05Is, do you feel like the, a team yourselves?
06:09Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
06:11Siblings.
06:12We're like, we're like a big extended family.
06:15Yeah, cousins and siblings.
06:16And then Hutch and Simon are the dads.
06:19Dads.
06:22Yeah, no, it's, it's, it's kind of amazing how close everybody is and how well everyone
06:26works together.
06:27Um, and there's just this, this group, you know, whether it's, you know, our, our
06:31directors, producers, you know, um, the, the crew, the entire cast, everybody's, you
06:36know, they're just all around, they're good people.
06:38And, uh, that is obviously the best way to, to make movies is with good people.
06:43And so it makes it much more enjoyable.
06:47Arriba.
06:51Arriba.
06:55Arriba.
06:56Arriba.
06:57Grazie a tutti.
