The United States has initiated two significant trade inquiries that may lead to a fresh set of tariffs as soon as this summer. These investigations are centered on unfair trading practices, including excessive industrial output and the use of forced labor within international supply chains.

00:00The tariff war is back. And this time, Trump is moving fast.
00:03The U.S. has opened two major trade probes that could bring a new wave of tariffs by summer.
00:09One targets excess industrial capacity in 16 big trading partners, including China, the European Union, India, Japan, South Korea and
00:17Mexico.
00:18The second probe goes even further. It could block imports tied to forced labor from more than 60 countries.
00:24This comes after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down much of Trump's earlier tariff program,
00:29weakening one of his biggest pressure tools.
00:31Now his team is rebuilding that pressure through a tougher legal path called Section 301.
00:36Officials say the target is unfair trade.
00:39That includes cheap state-backed production, trade surpluses, weak labor standards, and forced labor in supply chains.
00:47China is a major focus again, especially over electric vehicles and factory overcapacity.
00:52But this new push reaches far beyond China.
00:55The message is clear.
00:57Trump still wants tariffs, still wants leverage, and still wants trade partners at the table.
01:02And by this summer, the global trade fight could get much bigger.
01:05I am a natural president of the United States but the other one.
01:06No.
