00:07We had a plan ready to go in 2021, and then we did a snag, and we're standing at that

00:14The snag was the entrance from the heath to the crossroads, and if we'd done this scheme
00:20correctly, had this drop off in the first place, the scheme would have got put in place
00:24down.
00:25I think they should prioritise this, because it's just such a dangerous junction, and there's
00:31just been so many accidents, and with children crossing to go to school into town all the
00:37time, it's just so dangerous.
00:39Okay, so I'm with Linda, who's the grandmother of two children, and with her daughter involved
00:46in the accident on Tuesday.
00:47I think what makes me cross, I think what finally kind of broke a lot of the community here
00:52was that there were young children, it was yet another person not stopping at the juncture,
00:57it was school one time, there were three children more than it.
01:01And I think it's just the fact that all that HCC seem to care about, as far as anyone can
01:07see, is if there's a death.
01:09Someone just managed to get back into a car, and we thought that was important.
01:12My daughter hasn't, she's got a courtesy car, part of her insurance, but she hasn't been
01:18out of drive.
01:19It needs, something needs to be done, drastically.
01:21I think most of us are here to tell the country to get on and do what they're planning to
01:27do.
01:27There's a woman killed here.
01:29Yeah.
01:30Five centuries ago.
01:31Yeah.
01:32And the accidents have been going on.
01:34This one happened last weekend, it was one two weeks before that, one three weeks before that.
01:39It happened later this year, in theory, and we've been lobbying, the town council, myself,
01:45the district council, and both, the current one approved, and lobbying hard to get the
01:49work done.
01:50And trying to persuade Hampshire that we need it done last year, the year before.
01:54The scheme is ready to go, the money's been there for years, but a huge problem of support
01:59for what we're trying to do to slow traffic down, there's been more bad accidents here than
02:02the last, or bad accidents last week.
02:04We've had three, four bad accidents here, it's a dangerous crossroads, we all know it
02:08is, and we just want to get on with it.
