03:22They were all Scottish at one point, which is odd, that didn't make any sense.
03:26Vogan had hair.
03:28So casting them ended up allowing us to create character, to have those guys create characters with us.
03:34And so we basically went for the best people who would bring the characters to it.
03:37So he was a fairly obvious choice for us because we're big fans and he's hilarious.
03:42He's the funniest guy and the greatest guy to work with.
03:44Specifically those three, it was Jane Lynch, Jon Hamm, and Craig Robinson.
03:49Those characters really weren't anything until the actors came in and did their voices.
03:52And then suddenly their characters just elevated.
03:55And we made stories around them because of that.
03:58And because they created these characters, then they had a place in the Ogre Resistance.
04:02They had a role in it that we knew kind of how they operated.
04:05And we just added more and more.
04:07And obviously a lot of that isn't in the movie, but it's behind what they're saying.
04:10It's behind every scene.
04:12The animators also take a lot of inspiration from the recording sessions
04:15because we actually videotape all the recording sessions.
04:18And the actors would make these really funny, wonderful faces.
04:21and they actually, a lot of times what you see in the character
04:24is derived from what the actors bring to the table when they record.
