00:04I specialize in a very specific type of security

00:11You're talking about dreams
00:36About ten years ago I fixed on the idea of a heist film
00:39Set inside somebody's subconscious
00:41I thought it would be an exciting way to open up that world for the audience
00:44When Chris Nolan calls you up and says
00:46Look, I want to do a film that delves into the dreamscape
00:49That delves into four different stages of the human subconscious
00:52That is existential at times
00:54That's cerebral, surreal
00:56And I want to do it on a grand Hollywood scale
00:58To say, okay, where do I sign?
01:01I want to be a part of that brand
01:02Chris Nolan, he's a great friend
01:04I've done three pictures with him
01:06And he didn't have a leading part for me in this movie
01:09He said, there's three days, do you want to do it?
01:11And I said, yeah, for you I'll do it
01:13I think he's one of the greatest directors around at the moment
01:16So he just called me up and I was like, yeah, Chris
01:19Yes, before you even ask, I'm in
01:22He's one of my favorites going today
01:23And so to actually be in a movie of his is just really exciting
01:28He has a great imagination and he's sometimes mad
01:31And then
01:32To have the possibility to be in one of his films
01:34And then read a screenplay that was so unbelievably original
01:38And it's an amazing experience to be part of a project that is so original
01:42What looked like it could be very complicated at first
01:44Turned out to be a wonderfully therapeutic experience for me
01:48With a lot of visionary directors that I've been blessed to be able to work with in my career
01:54They do an incredible amount of preparation beforehand
01:57So when they're on set, they know exactly what they want to put on camera
02:00I really want audiences to be entertained first and foremost
02:04I really want them to have a great time watching the movie
02:07And then if there are a few ideas that rattled around or resonate beyond that, that'd be great
