00:12This was the start of an apocalypse that would sweep the entire world.
00:18That was five years ago.
00:21My name is Alice.
00:23This has to be the most exciting Resident Evil.
00:26I mean, this film really has gone to a whole other level.
00:35What 3D is very, very good at is it's an immersive medium.
00:39It really helps with sucking the audience into an environment.
00:43And for horror, there's nothing better than that.
00:46Come on!
00:48As we get more immersed in the world, I think the scripts just become better because we know these people,
00:55we know these characters, and your imagination starts flying.
01:00Part of the fun in this movie is the physicality that comes along with it.
01:04Knowing how to shoot the guns, doing some of your own stunts, and really making it as real as possible.
01:13The stunts in this movie are tremendous.
01:15I mean, the fight choreographies, and the jumps, and the shooting, and the running, and falling, and tumbling.
01:23It's something that I didn't expect.
01:24Even though I got ready for it, I didn't know it was going to be to that extent.
01:28But I was so excited to be part of this.
01:37I love to do stunts.
01:40I really get a kick out of it.
01:41It feels like I'm superhuman when I'm able to do these.
01:46So it's a part of the process that I really enjoy.
01:50Even though it's hard and it's uncomfortable,
01:53but it gets me up there doing these amazing things.
02:01The zombies in this movie are beyond scary.
02:05I mean, I've seen a bunch of those movies,
02:09but the zombies they have here, they're like super special, great, type-A zombies.
02:15I mean, they really look like they're dead.
02:18Luther, come on!
02:21One of the challenges that I've faced on this movie
02:24is the amount of green screen that we've had to do.
02:26It really makes you use a lot of your imagination
02:28to come up with things and use substitution
02:31to really give it that fire and that, really, that believability.
02:36Visual effects is a huge part of this show.
02:39We couldn't do the movie without visual effects.
02:42Given the vastness required by the script,
02:45we're only able to actually build a certain portion of the physical set.
02:48enough of the portion for the actors to interact in.
02:54We're doing a completely decimated Los Angeles cityscape.
02:58We're doing a full Tokyo city simulation as well.
03:03We're also destroying Tokyo, blowing it up with a plasma blast.
03:09We're also taking up the undead crowd component in this movie
03:14to where, in some shots, we're seeing upwards of 500,000 zombies.
03:19We've always had very big, time-consuming visual effects.
03:24And on this movie, we don't have any more time than we normally have,
03:27but we have a lot more work to do.
03:31I think one of the best things about this Resident Evil
03:33is how closely aligned it is with the Resident Evil games.
03:37I get to fight the Axeman,
03:39which is some of people's favorite, favorite character in the video games.
03:45This is zombies and kicking ass
03:47and fighting for survival and action.
03:50It's a totally fresh Resident Evil movie.
03:52And I think even if you've seen the other films,
03:54I guarantee you've never seen anything like this film.
04:02I'm blown away by the things that I've seen so far that we've done,
04:07and I think that people are going to flip out when they see it.
04:11I mean, we're flipping out doing it.
04:28And I think that people are going to flip out when they see it.
