00:01It was kind of like get him to the Greek, you know, we were at Moolings and we said, hey
00:05man, it's getting late, we better get over there, you know, and Jim was having a few drinks, you know,
00:10Mick Jagger's there, we were late.
00:13I remember driving up to the bull after dinner with the Stones, or some of the Stones, and getting right
00:20behind the shell and seeing 18,000 people and going, Jesus, wow, I hope we're good.
00:28It was intimidating, definitely intimidating. That's why maybe Jim took acid, oh my god.
00:35So there is a rumor that Jim was on acid. We don't know, I don't know that for a fact
00:41one way or the other.
00:42You know, he didn't tell the band he was doing this. And so, that he managed to perform at all,
00:52that he hit everything on cue.
00:55Things were drawn out more than usual.
00:59You can kind of tell at first that he's kind of self-conscious, you know, how you get on acid
01:03on the first part of the trip, you know.
01:06But then I think he kind of loosened up as time went on.
01:10So, in the beginning, he's kind of, you know, he's all right. And then he starts to, you can see
01:17him kind of, and then by the middle, my god, oh, there's a moth on the floor.
01:24And, you know, he's just tripping out on little finite stuff.
01:29And when he goes over to see the grasshopper, because he's talking about a grasshopper, and he goes down and
01:35he realizes it's not a grasshopper, and he comes back to the microphone and says,
01:40Uh-oh, I blew it, it's a moth.
01:42And he smiles, and the audience, that boyish smile that he could produce, and the audience just, and if you
01:48look closely, you can see the moth flying away.
01:50Either he took too much or not enough.
01:58So, what can I say? He was a different kind of guy.
