00:05the candidate of the Historical Pact for the Presidency of Colombia,
00:08has been widely supported by various sectors of the country.
00:11Political leaders highlighted her career and her work in defense of the rights of Indigenous peoples and social movements.
00:17Progressive movements defend the country's ethnic diversity
00:21and the importance of Indigenous peoples having a presence in decision-making spaces.
00:25In an interview on the country's public television,
00:27the Vice Presidential Candidate confessed that the appointment took her by surprise,
00:32but she would take advantage of this opportunity to indicate historically excluded sectors.
00:44I accept it with great enthusiasm as a historical responsibility,
00:48because those of us who have lived in the territories have experienced war.
00:52We have experienced exclusion,
00:56and also the exclusion of women.
00:58I believe that this is another opportunity to tell the country that we are here,
01:03that we are Indigenous people, that we are women,
01:06but that we are represented in this process that today redeems the country.
