00:32and it never seemed to click until we went out to D. Baker and Steve Blum.

00:47Well, originally, as we were trying to configure the Box Trolls language,
00:51it would come out as sounding a little more Slavic.
00:58Like that, it's like they had little skis and skahs at the end.

01:03You know, you wanted to find this place,
01:04they wanted them to feel more alien, more different, more other.
01:10Let's do a little less language.
01:12Let's make it more just kind of animal sounds with like a little word put here and there,
01:18and we'll use those to build it into this little structure.

01:46You never can quite understand what the Box Trolls are talking about,
01:49but you certainly get the emotional intent of it all.

02:09I mean, they introduced a lot of ideas and a lot of back and forth in their conversations.
