00:21We're now in Venice. It's a beautiful day. The Grand Canal is just here.
00:29This is the part of the movie where Vesper and I, our new life is just about to begin.
00:36We needed a really remarkable place to have the culmination of a love affair between Vesper and Bond.
00:47Shooting here in St. Mark's Square is logistically very complicated.
00:50Certainly one of the biggest tourist attractions in the world.
00:57First of all, we're at the height of the tourist season. It makes it very difficult for the crew, but
01:02also for the tourists.
01:03You know, they don't like being interrupted, and why should they?
01:05This happens to be a sequence where Daniel runs across the square, so we had something like 400 extras of
01:11our own.
01:14We're in St. Mark's Square in Venice, and people have got, you know, they're on holiday.
01:19So why not stand around and watch a film crew for a couple of hours?
01:26You can't film St. Mark's Square without it looking full. It won't look real. You need to flood it with
01:30people.
01:31Go!
01:37Venice has its own complications, and everything has to go by boat.
01:41It's very hard work for everybody, and the interesting day is going to be tomorrow on the Grand Canal with
01:46the first unit.
01:52We've taken the Spirit yacht in there. It's a first, because you don't get yachts in the Grand Canal.
02:02Venice was not really real, actually, because, you know, so many movies have been shot there.
02:06It was just, you know, mythical, and I felt really like a Bond girl when I was in that boat.
02:12There were so many people. It was like being in camp.
02:18I don't know if you can see behind us, but the Rialto Bridge is there. It doesn't get any busier
02:23than that.
02:27This is the easy bit. We're sitting here, sailing around on a boat around the Grand Canal.
02:31It's been one of the easiest parts of the job. It's been sort of like a mini-vacation, really.
02:35It's back to work next Monday.
02:37Here we go. And, three, two, one...
02:41Back to work next Monday!
