00:00Hi, Jamie Flores. I'm going over another notice today. Today we are going to go over letter 3172.
00:08So here's an actual copy of one. They're usually about seven or eight pages. It is a notice of
00:13federal tax lien filing. Okay. So it tells you the type of tax that you owe, which could be 1040,
00:20personal liability, 940, 941. If you have employees, civil penalties, 1120s. There's lots
00:27of different things that it could be. The tax period. So those are the years in which that you
00:31owe the balances, the date of the assessment, and the amount of the lien. So you know the total
00:37amount that is owed at the time of the assessment. Okay. The next page now tells you about the IRS
00:44may
00:44have sent your information over to the State Department for the United States passport denial
00:50or revocation. If you owe more than $62,000, the IRS is allowed to send it over to the State
00:56Department
00:56to revoke your passport. The next page is the actual notice of federal tax lien. This is what
01:03the tax lien filing looks like. It is filed at the county for which you own property or the address
01:09for which you live. So if you have land in one county and your residence is in another county,
01:15you may have a lien filing in more than one county. And also if your business is located in one
01:21county.
01:21Again, this tells you all the same information that we went over from page one. This goes into
01:27explanation about how you can get the lien released. And it is in English and Spanish. And what are your
01:33administrative appeal rights? This is just another page. And then this one goes over it again on how
01:40you can get it released and get a certificate of lien release. If you have any questions about letter 3172,
01:46please give us a call 972-484-0829.
