00:00Hi, I'm Jamie Flores with the Law Offices of Nick Namath. Today, we're going to go over the
00:05LT11. If you get an LT11, it comes certified mail and it is coming from automated collection
00:13at the IRS. It's not an actual revenue officer or revenue agent sending you something. It is
00:18an automated system that is a computer system is mailing these out. It means you owe the IRS money
00:25and it is a final notice intent to levy. It gives you the option and right for a collection due
00:32process to be filed, which is an appeal hearing. That's exactly what it tells you. It tells you how
00:37much you owe and it tells you what the date is that you have to file your collection due process
00:43or equivalent hearing by. You have 30 days from the date that is on this letter to file that CDP
00:49hearing, not 31 days. From day 1 to 30, you have a CDP hearing. Day 31 to 365, you can have an
00:58equivalent hearing. The difference between the two is for a CDP hearing, you are protected from getting
01:04levied. This is telling you it's a final notice that they're going to levy you. You file that CDP,
01:10you're protected from getting levies until you have your appeals hearing. After day 31 and Ford,
01:16they may levy your accounts. That's garnishing your paycheck, levying your bank account,
01:20levying your retirement accounts, contacting your payors if you're self-employed.
01:25Now, it tells you the amount owed in full. It tells you consequences if you don't pay,
01:30which are the levies. It tells you liens can be filed. It gives you other options on here. This is
01:37where you need to go to make your payments. If you don't already know, you can mail us. You can
01:40make your payments online. It goes into detail about how to request your appeals hearing. It then
01:47lists out the periods and the forms that you owe for. If it's individual, it'll say 1040. It'll list
01:53all the years that have balances and then the full dollar amount that you owe for all of the years.
01:59You need that information to put on your CDP request. It also will tell you you have rights and
02:05you can contact Taxpayer Advocate Service, but you don't need to contact them until after you've gone
02:10through. You've exhausted all of your options and resources that are available to you from the IRS,
02:16i.e. meaning file your CDP request. It's just continued about what your taxpayer rights are.
02:22Then the last page, they're very kind and they send you a payment voucher. If you have the funds to pay
02:28it, then you're going to cut this off and mail that in with your check or go online and make your
02:32payments. Again, this is an LT11. It is an automated final notice intent to levy.
