An overnight assault has left Ukraine reeling as Russia executed a significant attack with drones and missiles throughout the nation. One of the most devastating strikes occurred in the northeastern city of Kharkiv, where a ballistic missile crashed into a residential complex, resulting in widespread destruction and sorrow.

At least 10 individuals have lost their lives, including two children, as rescue personnel hurried to sift through the debris in search of survivors. Emergency responders toiled through the night amid raging fires and collapsing structures.

Though Ukrainian air defense systems successfully intercepted hundreds of drones and several missiles, some attacks still targeted essential infrastructure, such as energy facilities, railway stations, and ports nationwide.

In Kyiv, numerous residential buildings were left without heating due to damage to energy infrastructure. The President of Ukraine condemned the attack as horrific and appealed to international allies for continued support in air defense systems and military assistance.

As rescue efforts persist in searching the debris in Kharkiv, the world is once again confronted with the tragic human toll of the ongoing conflict.
