00:00What's up guys welcome back to another Amazon video with me your host Chris and today
00:06we are driving the EDV better known as the Rivian Amazon's newest electric vehicle and this is what
00:13it looks like so beautiful in here right now I picked up all my packages and we're about to head
00:18to our first stop and I'm going to show you what it's like and talk about my first impressions
00:24and what I think about the Rivian all right I'm gonna make a left hold on hold on a lot
00:30of traffic
00:32and we're gonna go cool
00:39oh my god now you turn the music down you see how quiet it is guys crazy
00:47wow and the regenerative braking I didn't even have to press the brake there I used the regenerative
00:53braking as you can see my foot's off the pedals and the car or the vehicle automatically stops
00:59so yeah it's about like 10 minutes to our first stop my first day in it I couldn't stop smiling

01:12I can't fit or can I it's gonna be a tight squeeze but I think we should we got this
01:18yes we got it one thing I want to talk about is the speed limit you can see there's like

01:24right here and I'm going over 25 oh no because the speed limit is 25 I'm going 26 so I
01:32have to slow
01:32down my speed
01:36because Amazon likes to keep track of driving so you gotta be careful going over the speed limit
01:42it's kind of annoying sometimes I feel I pay attention more to the speedometer than I am
01:47paying attention to the road the speed limit's not always right in certain places for example on the
01:52highway you'll be driving 55 but then like all of a sudden it'll change 25 for no reason and uh

02:00vehicle starts beeping and it goes crazy like don't get me wrong everyone should be going the speed limit
02:06it's sometimes it's wrong man
02:09and here in Jersey everyone always goes over 10 no one's gonna give you a hard time if you go

02:13miles over the speed limit but Amazon wants us to drive right so I shall do what I'm told coffee
02:23going from the cargo van it's it's like 10 times better and from a step van uh maybe like
02:33I don't know if it's uh it is kind of slightly better I think but if you put me in

02:39I wouldn't mind going over speed limit it turned red hopefully you guys can see that I'm not sure how
02:45much you can see yeah then we have our the navigation if you haven't noticed is in the middle of

02:50screen so I'm following it right now and this is the map of all my stops this is the main

02:58main screen people use and you can see all my stops are right here
03:03and you have my list of my stops like right here then my reverse camera right there too much
03:09censoring so we'll just leave it on the the radio menu and this piece of paper just blocks it's um
03:15just tells you my next address I want you guys following me you know you guys don't need to know

08:56we're gonna stop at that shop later today i went there once and they have uh protein smoothies
09:01and they're supposed to have empanadas today because it's saturday i want to try them out

09:23but you guys don't have to worry about me crashing into stuff i'm i have three years of experience
09:27under my belt almost four i think four not sure does driving my honda count experience
09:35i think so if it does that's like 10 years if you guys hit anything with the rivian
09:40if you hit a car a building a fence you lose your privileges so be careful
09:47if you mess this vehicle up they're gonna demote you back to the cargo van
09:53i think the rest of our stops are gonna be houses so

10:44and you can see the next stop is right there and all you gotta do is put it in drive
10:49to start the the navigation system so seamless it's the it's the best thing ever

12:03just look how sexy the rivians are guys all right guys i'm gonna try to show you the regenerative braking
12:08so if you look at my feet there are two pedals the brake pedal and the gas pedal
12:14is it really called gas if it's electric so basically what the regenerative braking is
12:18is when you let go of the gas it the the vehicle will start to slow down so if i
12:24let down like that
12:26it stops completely see no foot on my gas anything it just stopped i'm indifferent about it
12:33um it's just kind of weird and sometimes the driver will think like oh i'm in park and he's gonna
12:39leave but he leaves it in drive this is what happens when you walk away oh it turned itself to
12:46park as
12:46you can see which is pretty cool again it's not a transmission that's in here it's all electric so
12:52it's not destroying or hurting anything or so i hope
13:00i always put it like that so it's kind of hidden from the street see no one has packages
13:06another thing i like about the rivians that it's all electric because in like the cargo and step
13:10vans sometimes if you leave like the radio on and the car on start there's a chance that the battery

14:14The Amazon routing system makes you do a lot of u-turns even though they claim not to make a

15:09It's playing music, right now when I leave the truck and go deliver

15:19It didn't do it yet, but trust me all right now watch this see it's like quiet now and when
15:24I get back into the vehicle right here

15:34I started delivering around 11 o'clock and it's 7 p.m. With a hundred thirty stops
15:40Yeah, pretty quick pretty average and yeah, I'm pretty much done
15:44I'm gonna return to station and this is what we have left totes everywhere. I'll clean it up later
15:51Some packages we couldn't deliver we're gonna reattempt them right now and after that we're gonna head back to the
15:56station
