00:00Satellite jamming, drone attacks and unbelievable speeds.
00:03This is just some of the chaos that's happening right now in the Strait of Hormuz as the US
00:07and Israel enter the second week of their war with Iran.
00:10The vital waterway that hugs Iran's southwest coast is a narrow choke point that handles
00:15about a quarter of the world's seaborne oil trade and a fifth of the liquefied natural
00:19gas supply.
00:20Virtually no commodities and consumer goods are getting through.
00:23The handful that are making it through are employing interesting techniques to do so.
00:28At least one tanker carrying a million barrels of crude oil switched off its satellite signal
00:33and made a break through the Gulf to exit the Strait of Hormuz in recent days, one of
00:37the first such ships to do so.
00:39Satellite jamming has gone into overdrive, making the picture on the ground messier.
00:43Clusters of giant ships are appearing in the same place, and signals show some vessels sailing
00:48at ten times their normal speed, a sign of just how chaotic things are in the region.
00:52Iran is also continuing to ship its oil through the strait, even as other countries are struggling
00:57to get theirs.
00:58But most ship owners are worried their vessels will get attacked if they do sail.
01:02President Trump has pledged US naval support to get things moving, but for now, Hormuz remains
01:07largely blocked.
01:08So, we'll see you in the next video.
