00:00Electronic music is the endless field for exploring and experiencing all the beautiful emotions, all the type of emotions.
00:12So basically, when you do electronic music, there is no borders in it.
00:22Electronic music in Azerbaijan is more than nightlife entertainment.
00:26It's a sign of cultural exchange, creativity, and global sounds involving local youth.
00:33At least we have eight international acts performing here.
00:37But I would say that there are also some other events taking place in the city.
00:41People here are very friendly and hospitable.
00:43I believe that this is the main reason why whenever an artist comes to Baku, he wants to come back.
00:51I was happy to get invited to perform in Baku for the second time already.
00:57I think it's a very promising local scene and it seems to be on the up and go.
01:04The music scene offers a space where artists can have experiences with contemporary genres and where international and Azerbaijani performers
01:15share the stage.
01:16The good part of the new era is like the music production back then.
01:21It was like a very expensive big studios and the people were afraid of starting to try themselves in the
01:28music.
01:28From starting like I think for the last 20 years, you can write the whole project, the whole music, the
01:34whole symphony right from your laptop.
01:40Baku has a really emotional audience. It's special for me.
01:44And we have also international DJs like Portugal's DJs and also me. I'm based in Canada, Toronto.
01:51I never thought of music as a trend, as a commercial or something, whereas Azerbaijani culture is my roots.
01:57So from time to time I mix Azerbaijani pop music of 70s and 80s with electronic music.
02:06I think music necessarily doesn't get better if people work on their own.
02:12It's a benefit if the more the merrier in a studio.
02:15I still have to collaborate with local artists from Baku yet on the studio side of things, but I'm usually
02:23very fond of working with people.
02:26So yes, I'm looking forward to any opportunities that might arise on that side. Hopefully soon.
02:39For young people in Baku, this culture represents freedom of expression and sense of belonging to a wider community.
02:47This movement has made the city feel more dynamic and open while being at the forefront of the international electronic
02:54music map.
02:57So yes, that's the only way.
02:59It's special to me.
03:00It's a person who has been there.
