00:00In the meantime, the House Ethics Committee has started its assessment of the ethics complaint
00:04filed against Quezon City 4th District Representative Bong Suntai.
00:09The complaint stems from his alleged sexist remarks directed at a popular actress
00:13during a March 3 hearing of the House Committee on Justice.
00:17The committee has 60 session days to act on the verified complaints.
00:21It also confirmed the filing of additional private complaints against the lawmaker.
00:26Suntai is required to respond to the verified complaints within 10 days.
00:30House Ethics and Privileges Committee Chairperson Representative J.C. Avalos stated
00:35the committee always stands for what's on the side of justice,
00:38considering the proper behavior of a member of Congress.
00:42Representative Avalos also said the committee is set to come up with recommendations soon.
