00:00I thought Carolina might do something at the trade deadline, but they didn't.
00:04But they're still one of the best two teams on the eastern side, right?
00:09And they'll be favored pretty much over everyone except what, Tampa?
00:13I mean, who is the team to beat in the east?
00:17It's probably Tampa because they've won the Stanley Cup multiple times in the past five or six seasons.
00:24And they have that elite core with Kucherov, Braden Point, Andre Vasilevsky, Victor Hedman, Darren Radish is having a breakout
00:33season.
00:33So if I had to appoint somebody as the favorite right now, it's Tampa.
00:38But Buffalo's right on their tail.
00:41They've beaten them twice in the past month or so.
00:44So really impressive what the Sabres have done.
00:46And Buffalo has a nice goalie tandem with UPL and Alex Lyon.
00:50They got a tall, loaded, deep defense led by Rasmus Dahlin and Matthias Samuelsson, who's having a breakout season as
00:58well.
00:59And then they roll three strong forward lines.
01:01And I kind of like, guys, that this team didn't disrupt its chemistry at the deadline.
01:06We've seen that in previous years where teams try to land the big one.
01:10And then they're working the last month, month and a half of the season to try to get the lines
01:15in order.
01:15This team is jiving right now.
01:17They got their mojo going into the playoffs, and they're going with the band that got them there.
01:23It's fun to watch right now.
01:25I also think the Islanders, after acquiring Braden Shen, could pose a tough task for the Hurricanes if they meet
01:31in the second round of the playoffs.
01:33And, of course, the Islanders have Ilya Sorokin, Matthew Schaefer, and Bo Horvat, three of the best players at their
01:40position in the entire league.
