00:00This new season, it opens in quite like a very dark, dramatic fashion with you guys finding the person who,
00:06you know, allegedly murdered your daughter and sold your granddaughter into sex slavery.
00:12Claire, like, kills him and says she wishes it had been more brutal.
00:15I killed him too quickly. I should have let that bastard suffer. I should have made him feel every ounce
00:20of agony the body can feel. And even then, even then it wouldn't be punishment enough.
00:26I'm curious what Jamie's thoughts are seeing his wife be so violent and how you how you interpreted that scene.
00:34Yeah, I mean, you sort of it's almost like a cold open thrust into the scene and we're in the
00:40midst of this conversation.
00:41And there was one of the first thing the first thing we shot. And for us ourselves, it was quite
00:47jarring, you know, being into this storyline of Jamie and Claire on this mission to find out more about what
00:53happens at Faith.
00:55And her, Claire's reaction, of course, is is quite violent. And, you know, she is not how she would normally
01:03act.
01:03I think you can see, you know, the emotion that's in her and the passion that's there.
01:07I think Jamie's shocked by it, but also equally is driven and is kind of deadly in their conviction in
01:15finding out the truth about what happened.
01:18And yeah, I mean, it's it's a strong start for them both, isn't it?
01:23Yeah, her body, her body count is getting higher than Jamie's for sure.
01:28We didn't have those last two episodes of season seven until very, very late, right before we were going to
01:34film coming into season eight.
01:36You know, usually Sam and I would have a breakdown or an overview of the coming season that we would
01:42get before we'd start filming.
01:45And I think Matt, because he had this really intense responsibility of finishing a show that everyone has an opinion
01:52on, was keeping his cards very close to his chest.
01:55He wasn't giving us an overview of the season.
01:57So even as we were going into the season, you know, we started off with two scripts and then we
02:01were sort of going along like script by script.
02:05So it was sort of like a surprise about where all that story was going to go to.
02:11But I think for Claire and for Jamie, I mean, you never get over the loss of a child and
02:18finding out that she lived or she might have lived and that they missed out on that life.
02:26I mean, that's a whole other pain and that's a whole other set of grief to go through and to,
02:36you know, and so when they find out, especially then what happened to her, if this really is her, it
02:48was a really horrific thing.
02:49And I think Claire does something that's very shocking and where I, you know, can't exactly condone it.
02:58I can maybe understand.
