00:012026 мокрс the 60th anniversary of ITB Berlin,
00:05the world's leading tourism trade show.
00:08This year's event is set against a backdrop
00:10of heightened geopolitical tensions.
00:13And although most of the world are still in attendance,
00:15conversations around safety, security and resilience
00:18have come to the forefront of the event.
00:25Though taking place in Berlin,
00:27this year's host country is Angola.
00:32We want to promote our country
00:36because we are well aware
00:38that nobody visits the place that they don't know.
00:42So we have to make ourselves known to the world.
00:46Being host country of ITB
00:49is a concrete expression
00:53of how ambitious is Angola.
00:57Most of the countries are known for one product.
01:01Angola has the big five-plus gorillas.
01:03That means that we can do safari
01:05and we can do tropical forests.
01:08We have the oldest desert in the world,
01:11Namibia Desert,
01:12and the second biggest waterfall in Africa,
01:15Kalandula Waterfalls.
01:21Adventure travel is a key topic here at ITB Berlin.
01:25For travellers, it's an opportunity to explore
01:28beyond the new cities into the wonders of the natural world.
01:31So Indonesia with 17,000 islands is the capital of adventure.
01:37We have over 150 volcanoes,
01:40and some of them is the best in the world.
01:43This is not me telling,
01:44but the tourists, the testimony.
01:47Prinzani, for example, the world famous,
01:49is the most beautiful volcano in the world.
01:52You go there, you climb,
01:55and you see it's like paradise, they say.
02:01Azerbaijan is a great place to go and see
02:03maybe some nature spot in the mountains of Schachtach
02:07or on the way for a sunset,
02:10the Candy Cane Mountains,
02:11which get in a beautiful orange-red colouring for sunset.
02:18Many destinations are seeing tourists demand
02:20a deeper and more authentic experience,
02:22away from the typical tourist sites and tours.
02:27Many people know mountain ranges in other countries.
02:31Hiking the greater Caucasus is, for many, a new experience,
02:35and an experience maybe where they can be with their own zen
02:40discovering the new mountain range.
02:43I think hiking especially is a trend connecting with nature,
02:48connecting with people, with mountain villages,
02:50with heritage, with traditions, practices in the villages.
02:54Might it be from copper crafts or silk heritage
02:58or mountain herbs in the greater Caucasus.
03:02So I think hiking is a beautiful topic,
03:06connecting all these items of meaningful connection
03:09between a destination and a traveller.
03:15So food in Montenegro is, I promise you, beautiful food that was locally produced
03:21and that actually has the taste of produce,
03:24the beautiful taste of the land, of the grass, of the air.
03:28And, by all means, you should combine it with some of our lovely wines.
03:33My preference is Vranac.
03:36Vranac is an indigenous grape sort.
03:40It grows mostly in Montenegro and partly in Macedonia.
03:43It resembles a bit Primitivo, Italian Primitivo.
03:46So it's very opulent red wine, but goes beautifully with a very hearty,
03:52good food that you can eat in our country.
03:57But building tourism isn't just about adding new attractions to their own visitors.
04:01It's about making it easier for them to get there in the first place.
04:04The challenge usually is in the connectivity and also infrastructure.
04:09I'm glad to report that in 2026,
04:13all these wonders are going to be much more accessible than even last year.
04:19This year, we are having over 130 airline destinations.
04:24So connectivity has dramatically improved.
04:29You want to experience the local culture, you can experience anywhere in Malaysia.
04:34So you just need to connect the tourists with what they want to try.
04:38You also can experience how the Malaysians live.
04:42That's how we want to show to the people for this year.
04:47With improved access allowing deeper connections,
04:50the whole industry is hoping to diversify visitors and keep tourism thriving.
