00:00Because this is not from Adam Schefter, Ian Rappaport.
00:05But Ricky Scoops is back.
00:07Oh, boy.
00:09He has gotten the account reactivated.
00:11Again, this is this unknown tweeter who the league is trying to track down.
00:15Got his account shut down over the weekend.
00:17He did have Micah Parsons to Green Bay first.
00:21Well, the account is back up.
00:24And six minutes ago, Ricky Scoops tweeted,
00:29Have you looked?
00:31No.
00:32Sounds like Trey Hendrickson will be joining the Cowboys.
00:35Whoa, baby.
00:37All right, so not Rappaport, not Schefter.
00:40It's Ricky.
00:42He has had misses.
00:43He has.
00:44No doubt about it.
00:45But he has had hits.
00:47And this is awesome to just have fun with.
00:50877-881-1053, the Franklin Franco injury attorney text line.
00:56I can't believe in my career, 15 years in, I'm the home of the Cowboys.
01:01I'm getting excited and worked up over a breaking tweet from someone named Ricky Scoops.
01:06Can I tell you what the prevailing theory is about Ricky Scoops in the league?
01:12Please.
01:13So there's a couple different things.
01:16First off, everybody goes, this is not anybody who works with a team in all likelihood.
01:22Because they just, they know too much about too many things that are out there.
01:28One of the popular theories for a long time was this is somebody who just works in the league office
01:33and has maybe caught wind of some things or whatever else.
01:39That one seems to be off still, though, because whatever chatter the league office would hear about coming moves is
01:47not necessarily going to filter down to wherever they think this smaller individual would be.
01:53So the popular theory out there, and nobody's identified who, the popular theory out there is people think it very
02:02well could be an agency that uses it.
02:05And then an agency that uses it for public leverage or whatever else.
02:09Like, just like, oh, let's start some buzz about this guy.
02:12Or, oh, let's, you know, we know that this, because agents, they all hear what's going on.
02:18But, so a lot of agencies go, oh, okay, we can pivot this move over here.
02:22Let's get this out over here about this, this, and this.
02:24Now, there's no consistency with this account.
02:27Because there's no, like, all the different things that it reports on, it's always, it's not like, oh, it's all
02:32from one agency.
02:33It's different ones.
02:34But the thought is that, oh, run into some information.
02:37You hear it.
02:38Let's, let's create a brand here that then builds up and we can start using it to, to pepper in
02:44some of our own stuff and get leverage in the media when we need.
02:46We follow each other on social media.
02:48Well.
02:49I would guess that he says no.
02:52But if he was willing to come on, do you think you could kind of get some, get some, some,
03:00some tips and some info to make him give himself up?
03:04Oh, yeah.
03:06That's probably why.
03:08Should I set up like a pre-record?
03:10And then have him talk through the, like the, the deep throat modifier or whatever.
03:15Sure.
03:16I wonder if he'd take the bait and come on for a radio interview.
03:19I mean, he clearly wants attention or she.
03:21Yeah.
03:21I would, I would doubt that they would say yes.
03:25I, I, I, I agree.
03:26Because I think this is, like I said, if this is tied to.
03:29But this is an interview I'd be interested in getting.
03:31Like he's a.
03:31I think everybody would be interested in it.
03:33I think you'd get a, I'm sure all the different outlets would want to talk to him.
03:37Or her.
03:38Now, is this tied into his next tweet?
03:41Because after we went from Crosby to Baltimore, maybe not Hendrickson.
03:47What about Jalen Phillips?
03:48Jordan Schultz, 13 hours ago, said the Eagles remain very interested in bringing back Jalen Phillips.
03:54And Ricky, four minutes ago, said, can confirm this is done and JP will be back.
03:59So, if the Cowboys were looking at Jalen Phillips.
04:03They had to pivot.
04:04And again, if this is true and Phillips gets taken off the board because he's re-signing in Philadelphia.
04:09Then you go to Hendrickson.
04:11I'm going to send Ricky a DM right now.
04:13A couple of thoughts on who Ricky Scoops is on the, on the fan text.
04:18They think it's Bobby Belt.
04:21Oh, yeah.
04:22And then others are saying it's Roger Goodell's burner account.
04:24I like that one.
04:25Okay.
04:25That's a good one.
04:27That, that, that actually.
04:28Could you imagine if a commissioner of a sports league, and I'm sure one of them does, has a burner
04:32account?
04:33So, here are just a few of the ones off the top of my head that I remember.
04:36Because I think some of them get deleted occasionally.
04:39But, he said last year the Cowboys were going to cut Trayvon Diggs in the spring.
04:43That didn't happen.
04:45He said at the start of the NFL offseason, he kept talking about Jim Leonard going to New York.
04:52And that didn't happen.
04:53He went to Buffalo.
04:54And so, no, but no, it was like to the, to the Giants that they were talking about.
04:58He was talking about him going to the Giants.
05:00That didn't happen.
05:02So, I mean, he's missed on some things.
05:04Again, if you were, if it was being used by whatever outlet or whoever was trying to use it and
05:11manipulate it, you might, there might be value depending on who you are and occasionally intentionally missing some things.
05:17If you're trying to cover your tracks, if you're somebody who works in the NFL League office and you have
05:20this or whatever, then you might want to miss a few things.
05:23Like, oh, okay, I'm not going to be caught doing this.
05:26So, it's clearly someone who gets some insight.
05:29It's just the question now is like, how reliable is this specific piece of it?
05:32Because he's missed before.
05:33All right.
05:33So, let's talk about, I just sent the DM.
05:35I said, let's do an interview.
05:36Let's make it happen.
05:38877-881-1053.
05:39Ricky Scoop saying, sounds like Trey Hendrickson will be joining the Cowboys.
05:44So, let's just talk about that as if it's happening.
05:46If Schefter Rappaport came out with this as breaking news, my first reaction is excitement.
05:52This is my idea from the jump compared to giving up the picks for Max.
05:56Give me two first-rounders and go get Trey Hendrickson.
05:59Although, the age thing, the age reminder that Bobby just told us in the last segment kind of hurt a
06:05little bit, turning 32.
06:07During the course of the season, what money amount would make you pump your fist versus the money amount that
06:15would make you cringe?
06:16As 30 has kind of been the figure attached to Trey.
06:20Yeah, nothing would make me.
06:22I don't think there's an amount that reasonably could happen that would make me pump my fist.
06:2720?
06:28I don't think 20 is reasonable.
06:30I don't think there's any chance that's what he gets.
06:33So, to me, I think he's likely to fall in a range that, depending on how much activity there is,
06:39between maybe the floor being 26, 27, something like that.
06:47Yeah.
06:48And then the ceiling being up to like 33.
06:50Let me give you...
06:52My guess has been...
06:53Even after the Hunter...
06:55What do you mean?
06:56Yeah.
06:58So, you think this is multi-year, then?
07:00The Neil Hunter.
07:00Yeah, yeah.
07:01I think if Hendrick...
07:01Ultimately, my guess has been Hendrickson signs for three for 96, somewhere.
07:05Let me give you the average per year.
07:09Tell me where we should stop.
07:12Mike is a 46.
07:14Hutchinson, 45.
07:15TJ, 41.
07:17Hunter just got 40.
07:19Miles, 40.
07:20Nick Bosa, 34.
07:23Nick Benito, 26 and a half.
07:25We go from 34 all the way down to 26 and a half.
07:30That's what made it difficult to really work on his deal.
07:33On whose?
07:34On Hendrickson.
07:35Like for Cincinnati and others is because of just the gap that where it's like, well, you're not those guys,
07:38but you're not these guys either.
07:40And then Montez Sweat, 24 and a half.
07:43Yeah.
07:44Carl Loftus, Leonard Williams, I think we're wasting airtime going below that.
07:48But is the floor Sweat or Benito?
07:53Like Benito's...
07:53I mean, we'd all rather have Benito right now.
07:55Benito was what was he?
07:55Benito was 26 and a half.
07:58Yeah, that's the very floor.
07:59Very floor.
08:00Yeah.
08:00So, and what did you say was the drop-off who was behind that?
08:03Bosa?
08:04Then it goes to Bosa at 34.
08:05Yeah.
08:05So, like, I thought, like, just without even looking at that, it felt like 26, 27 to 33.
08:11And that's exactly...
08:11Fitting in between Bosa and Benito.
08:13That's where I would think Trey had to go.
08:15That's a big gap.
08:16It is.
08:16That's a $7.5 million gap to work with.
08:18Ultimately, I think they would say you would go closer to Bosa.
08:22And so I think he probably ends up 30 to 32, is what I would guess.
08:27All right.
08:27Someone says, you took the bait.
08:28Don't get me excited.
08:29I believe this is fraud.
08:31And if...
08:31Look, y'all can believe whatever you want.
08:33Whether or not it's fraud, they're going to check on him.
08:35They're going to...
08:36They're going to reach out about him.
08:37So whether he's expected to land there or not, that's not the point.
08:40They're going to talk to him.
08:40They're going to find out numbers.
08:41Who are the other names, Bobby, after Crosby and Hedrickson?
08:45So Hendrickson is obviously the big one that everybody knows at this point.
08:48The other name that we've heard a little bit about, Jonathan Grenard, and not necessarily
08:52tied to Dallas, but just he's out there.
08:54He's a name.
08:55He's available.
08:56That's trademarked that they could potentially explore, depending on how much Minnesota wants
09:00for him.
09:01Marcus Dixon was his defensive line coach in Minnesota the last couple of years.
09:05But I've always...
09:07People always look for pairings in free agency.
09:09Well, you played for that coach, so you're going to go there.
09:12And there's a website created for that now.
09:14Yeah, NFL.com.
09:15Their NFL.com NFL IQ page, they'll sort things that way, based on who has played for coaches
09:22on the staff before.
09:24Man, the biggest...
09:26The idea is just a simple idea like that.
09:28You can just make some money off of it, and then it just goes right over our heads.
09:32The biggest risk there, or the thing that I always like to say about coaching connections,
09:36that either makes that team one of the likeliest to go after them, or it makes them one of the
09:40least likely to go after them.
09:42Because that coach will know.
09:43So that coach may despise that player and be like, hell no.
09:47I was trying to get him off the team the last year.
09:49I don't want him around.
09:50Like, there's a reason he's leaving Minnesota.
09:52I'm out.
09:53And so...
09:53Or maybe somebody that you really like.
09:55Like, that's the whole thing with the N'Kobe Dean connection that people have talked about.
09:58Well, that could mean Christian Parker either definitely wants him here, or would definitely
10:02not want him here, depending on how he felt about him.
10:04But Grenard is a big one.
10:06The free agent names that I think are important to watch, some of the ones that are going to
10:10be connected.
10:11And after Hendrickson, it's going to be a drop to the next group of pass rushers.
10:16But I think Arnold Ebikidi in Atlanta, who they kicked around at the trade deadline, could
10:23make some sense for them.
10:25A guy they really liked coming out of the draft a few years ago, who had a bit of a
10:30difficult
10:31career, kind of bounced back the last two years, and could play in a 3-4 kind of style as
10:35Caleb
10:35on Chase on, who had 7.5 sacks for the Patriots this year.
10:39He's going to be a free agent.
10:41Odafe Owe.
10:42That's a name I see a lot.
10:43Owe, they liked coming out of Penn State.
10:45He had zero sacks for Baltimore in the first half of the year.
10:47Last year, he gets traded to the Chargers, and he finishes with like 7.5 in the second
10:51half.
10:52And so, that's a really freakish kind of athlete who is a steady pass rusher.
10:57I think the name that maybe is the one most worth watching, though, that's on the free
11:01agent list, that I think, okay, I can see this one connecting a little bit, is Boye
11:06Mafe, who has been with the Seahawks the last couple of years.
11:09So, Mafe and Owe.
11:11Those are honestly the two that I might circle around.
11:14I know people talked about Jalen Phillips a little bit.
11:16He sounds like he's going back to Philly.
11:17Even if he wasn't, I don't know that they'd be in on him, because there is such a big
11:21priority on some of the availability stuff with them right now, that that's one of the
11:26things that I think we're going to pause on how much Hendrickson would want, depending
11:29on what number he gets up to, is because they want to make sure you're available.
11:32Man, Owe had a 17.5% pressure rate.
11:37That's pretty decent.
11:38That's pretty decent.
11:39Boye Mafe is a guy who likes size-wise and pass rush ability and some of the various things
11:43he can do.
11:43I think he fits a lot.
11:45You are going to have to pay for him.
11:47He's not going to be Hendrickson, but I mean, Mafe may come in around sweat.
11:51He may come in $24 million, something like that.
11:54With those names, who are not, besides Hendrickson, let's be honest about it, those are not household
11:59names at all.
12:00Does that make you understand why the Cowboys offered 12, the second, and maybe Osa?
12:07And you understand?
12:09See, yeah.
12:11Because you do have to look at your free agent board and say, all right, if we don't get
12:16max, we got an older, maybe injury-prone Hendrickson, and then a cliff, a plummet of no names.
12:26Well, see, that's where you get into the dangerous territory of free agency.
12:31Like, you're paying for names, but are you paying for the better player?
12:36Mafe...
12:37Well, these other guys are just, I mean, they're basically, to that usual NFL fan, no name.
12:41Right, right.
12:42And no name for a reason, too.
12:44Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's true, and sometimes it's, you know, where they start.
12:48Like, if Owe played...
12:49Like, if those two guys got, one of the two got signed, Owe and...
12:55Boye Mafe.
12:56Yeah, we would have to give a lot of education, kind of like we did on Christian Parker, to
13:01get fans hyped and excited over a week's time.
13:04I think Mafe would be a signing everybody should get excited about.
13:07Now, obviously, they would need to be told why, but I think Mafe would be one that would
13:11be, once you had an understanding...
13:12There was a time Trey Hendrickson was Boye Mafe, or Odafe, oh wait, like those guys.
13:17Yeah, when he...
13:18Now, he had a big last year in New Orleans, but he was definitely thought of as a massive
13:22risk going to Cincinnati, where people were like, you're going to pay for a one-year
13:26flash of a guy who could not get on the field the first few years.
13:29Okay, good luck with that.
13:30And it ended up working out.
13:31And, you know, Mafe, like, if you look at some of his numbers, his sack totals have
13:36gone from nine to six to two over the last three years, but his pressure rate has stayed
13:40stable.
13:42So, you know, the analytics would say, that's just bad luck.
13:46That, you know, that's what the geeks, the nerds would say, it's just bad luck.
13:51Whereas others would be like, no, I want him to get home.
13:53And Trey Henderson, historically, has gotten home a lot.
14:00Mafe is, like, we're talking about a guy there who that is going...
14:03That's a good run defender.
14:04That's a solid, steady pass rusher.
14:07That's a guy who gets his hand up and throwing lights.
14:09This is an edge rusher who, the last few years, six passes defended, three passes defended,
14:13five passes defended.
14:14Like, he gets his hands up.
14:15He can do some different things if they need him to in terms of versatility and coverage.
14:18Like, he, to me, is a really solid, steady player.
