A television actress and her husband under investigation for a RM1.5mil land scam in Selangor are also being probed for cheating a retiree of more than RM23,000.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Azahar Abdul Rahim said the couple allegedly promised the victim a Datukship from a state in exchange for the money.

00:22began investigating the alleged scam following a report lodged by the victim on December 12.
00:28The couple allegedly promised the victim a datukship from a state in exchange for money.
00:34The 41-year-old husband reportedly assured the retiree he could secure the title, and
00:39the victim transferred the cash in six separate transactions from January to November last
00:44year. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for Cheating, which carries
00:51a jail term of between 1 and 10 years, caning, and a fine upon conviction.
00:56The suspects were also detained last Thursday to assist in investigations into a 1.5 million
01:04ringgit fraud case involving the sale of a non-existent plot of land in Selangor.
