Trey Knowles — “Even Their Homosexuals Protest for Iran”

In this commentary, Trey Knowles explains why some homosexual activists in the West protest in support of Iran. According to Knowles, the reason is simple—they are seeking correction.

Love corrects. When people truly care about someone, they are willing to guide them and correct them when they believe something is wrong. Many people, Knowles argues, feel that Western culture often encourages behavior while avoiding correction, telling people what they want to hear rather than what they may need to hear.

Children look to their parents for guidance and correction because correction is part of love. If a parent refuses to correct a child at all, that absence of discipline can feel like neglect rather than care.

Knowles argues that when a society refuses to correct anyone, it may appear as though it does not truly care about people’s well-being. In his view, love involves truth, guidance, and accountability.

From this perspective, he claims that some people believe stricter societies, including those influenced by Islam, emphasize correction and discipline as expressions of what they see as moral responsibility.
