Trey Knowles — “Let the Power Shift to Produce Fruit”

In this commentary, Trey Knowles argues that leadership should belong to those who demonstrate moral character and produce good fruit. If the Western world cannot produce the character that God expects, then perhaps leadership should shift to those who are willing to live according to God’s will.

Islam means submission to the will of God. Knowles suggests that people who openly emphasize obedience to God should not be excluded from leadership simply because of their faith.

Let Muslims run for mayor. Let Muslims run for governor. Let Muslims run for the White House. If they seek to influence society toward what they believe is the will of God, then they should be free to participate in leadership just like anyone else.

According to Knowles, leadership should be judged by the character it produces and the values it encourages. If a society truly values moral character, then it should allow those who emphasize obedience to God to help guide the direction of the nation.
