Honkai: Star Rail is a space-fantasy RPG that trades the real-time action of its predecessor, Genshin Impact, for a deeply strategic turn-based combat system. As the Trailblazer, you travel across the galaxy aboard the Astral Express, exploring diverse planets—from the frozen tundra of Jarilo-VI to the high-tech sci-fi landscapes of the Xianzhou Luofu.
The Combat:
Battles revolve around a four-person party. The core mechanic is Weakness Breaking: every enemy has specific elemental weaknesses (Physical, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Quantum, or Imaginary). By using the right elements, you deplete their "Toughness" bar, triggering powerful break effects and delaying their turns. Strategy is key, as you must manage Skill Points shared by the whole team while timing your Ultimate abilities, which can be unleashed at any moment—even during an enemy's turn.
Exploration & Progression:
While not a seamless open world, the game offers large, semi-open zones filled with puzzles, hidden treasure chests, and interactive environmental storytelling. Characters follow specific Paths (classes) like The Destruction (all-around DPS), The Preservation (tanks), or The Harmony (buffers), allowing for endless team-building combinations.

00:15Hook? You!
00:17This I really wasn't expecting.
00:20So, the moles are a part of Wildfire.
00:24Ah, that's right. It's me, Pitchdark, Hook the Great!
00:28What do you want?
00:30You know, I think there's been a misunderstanding.
00:34I will be your guide, friends, by order of Chief Oleg.
00:38I gotta say I'm a little upset at the thought of you choosing a toddler over your old buddy, Sampo.
00:44All right, all right, don't get started.
00:46But I want to ask you something.
00:48Everyone in Wildfire knows the location of Sparrow's Lair.
00:51Why do we need you as a guide?
00:54My specialty's in the field, perhaps.
00:57Wildfire may know where the base is, but have they ever been inside?
01:03You've been inside?
01:04No, but I felt my way around the outside and picked up more than a few clues.
01:09I can help you.
01:11You have my word.
01:16Hey, what are you trying to say?
01:17You guys wouldn't have even gotten to know Wildfire without my help, right?
01:21My legacy will prove that Sampo Koski was nothing but a willing and devoted servant of...
01:27Enough!
01:28Jeez, we believe you, okay?
01:30Show us the way of...
01:31Great!
01:32Stay close.
01:44Oh, Sampo, are we there yet?
01:47Do you have to ask every other minute, Miss...
01:50This is Sparrow's Lair?
01:52I thought it'd be cold and lifeless.
01:54Turns out it's pretty busy.
01:56Many vagrants are staying here temporarily.
01:59Their homes were overrun by monsters.
02:01Isn't it dangerous for them to make camp right under Sparrow's metal nose?
02:05No.
02:07Sparrow may be ruthless, but he never attacks without reason.
02:10For those with no home, this is actually a safe place to be.
02:16If I hadn't moved away when I did, I'd probably be where they are right now.
02:27Looks good.
02:33Not a heavy gate.
02:36Okay, watch this!
02:38Open sesame!
02:44Is that a secret code or something?
02:47It's an imaginary password that children like to use.
02:51And I don't think it's going to be of much use.
02:57Hmph.
02:58I was just about to get into those before Miss March's colorful attempt.
03:04Luckily for us, I've already figured out the mechanism for this gate.
03:07They don't just let any Joe Schmo in and out of Boss Sparrow's territory.
03:11I mean, if you want to see the big cheese himself, you need certification.
03:16Uh, certification?
03:17Correct.
03:18Only prospectors with the right certification can get in or out.
03:23These prospectors collect mechanical remnants from all over the underground and then bring them to Sparrow for him to repair.
03:30Honestly, it's a very profitable little venture.
03:32If only I'd be not to it.
03:34They'd be calling me Sampo Bosski by now.
03:38Uh, time out.
03:39Where do we get this certification?
03:41Oh, that's simple.
03:42You see the robots over by the vagrants?
03:44They're all Sparrow's scouts.
03:47Every one of them is commanded to maintain order here.
03:49Apart from them keeping a watchful eye on these hooligans, another one of their duties is processing.
03:55Anyone who wants to become a prospector has to pass a test from these walkin' stoplights first.
04:03Not a clue.
04:04Oh, I never had the urge to go on a Sparrow's suicide mission before.
04:09You guys are the ones that want in.
04:10Why not go and ask the robots?
04:13It feels like the people here are all under the supervision of robots.
04:19This would be unthinkable on the search.
04:20Hold still.
04:22They're nearly fixed.
04:23My design has been superseded by...
04:26Hey, what are you...
04:27Alas, this place is a bit of a mixed bag.
04:30This has to be one of them, right?
04:32It looks so...
04:35Lame.
04:36Is it even awake in there?
04:37Maybe it's broken down.
04:41That scared me.
04:42Protocol.
04:43Initiating.
04:44Scanning.
04:45Verifying.
04:46Certification failure.
04:48Subject has yet to obtain access permissions.
04:51Launching processing.
04:53Huh?
04:53Are we starting now?
04:54Launching stage one processing.
04:57Please listen to the following question.
04:59Who is the reigning champion of the Internal Combustion Engine Wrap Tournament?
05:04Infernal construction what now?
05:06How would we know anything about that?
05:08Sambo, do you know the answer?
05:11Sambo Caskey always knows the...
05:13Wait, what did it say again?
05:16Aren't you supposed to be dependable?
05:19Well, I don't know everything.
05:21Sometimes you've got to ask around if you want to know the answer.
05:24Don't panic.
05:25Let's listen in to what the vagrants are talking about.
05:27We might just hit the jackpot.
05:29Please answer the following question.
05:31Who is the reigning champion of the Internal Combustion Engine Wrap Tournament?
05:40Incorrect answer.
05:41Uh, you know, friends, if you don't know the answer, you don't have to pretend you do.
05:47No one's going to laugh at you.
05:49Reassessing.
05:50Subject spread index.
05:52I initializing combat module.
05:54Uh, combat module?
05:56This thing's faulty, right?
05:58Wishful thinking.
05:59It's about to attack.
06:16With me out here, how can we lose?
06:19Let's go.
06:22How about this?
06:32Try that again.
06:36Next time.
06:38Combat is a series of preserved rachinations.
06:44You have the worst luck running into me.
06:48Suit right there while I give you a present.
06:51Let's make it quick.
07:02You can't run!
07:06Bigger the bigger.
07:08Time for a detailed overhaul.
07:14My turn.
07:17Let's go.
07:25Are made to be broken!
07:33Phew. That was scary.
07:35It just suddenly attacked.
07:36This button says System Reset.
07:40Let's give it a try.
07:41System Reset.
07:43Successful.
07:44Certification sequence.
07:46Please extend your right hand.
07:48My right hand?
07:49Here you go.
07:50Why is this part of the...
07:52Hey!
07:52Hey!
07:53Ow!
07:53Ow!
07:54Ow!
07:54So this is the certification mark?
07:57Great.
07:58Only two more steps to go.
07:59Let's move.
08:00Let's move.
08:08Let's move.
08:17Come on.
08:20Let's move.
08:21Run.
08:22Let's move.
08:30Let's move.
08:33We'll...
08:33Ugh, let's get this over with. Did you get your first certification? If not, then you're wasting your time.
08:40You mean this? Here, look!
08:44Yeah, yeah, whatever. Here comes your question. Listen up.
08:49Riddle me this. A microcrystalline unit should be connected to which component?
09:08Wrong. Congratulations. Simple question. Terrible answer. It's back to school.
09:13Ugh, can I smash this can opener already?
09:15Ha! You wanna go? You caught me in a bad mood.
09:19If we turn you into scrap metal, we still get our certification, right? Suits me!
09:32In the still waters of oblivion, I've got a wandering south.
09:39Let's make it quick.
09:42How about this?
09:51Not each urine batchy.
09:59This team is bleeding as the Dons did. Destined for oblivion. You won't get away!
10:08Wait! Have mercy! I'm sorry. One certification coming right up.
10:14Hehe. Now we're talking.
10:16Okay. Please extend your right hand.
10:21Huh? Me again? It hurts, you know.
10:24Ow.
10:26There you are. Only one more to go.
10:29Now, please leave me in peace.
10:40Is that all?
10:44Whatever the case, we'll need it to identify our certification.
10:48Hmm. There's something wrong with this one.
10:52Yeah.
10:53Init-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ini-ni-initialization failure.
10:57Attempting system restore-
10:59Not encouraging.
11:01System restoration failure.
11:03Core module damage.
11:04External threat detected.
11:06Threat elimination activated.
11:07Initializing combat mo-
11:09Ha!
11:09Finally no more ragging our brains.
11:12This rust bucket's about to meet it's maker!
11:20We're still waters of oblivion, my god, wandering stars.
11:24This is our chance.
11:34I'm okay.
11:36Perhaps you still don't understand.
11:38You know, I didn't know the customers' desire to control the heavens.
11:42And I'm no exception.
11:45Hmph, just in time.
11:47Just a little something.
11:50Think nothing.
11:53Don't worry, it's just a scrape.
11:55Time for a shot.
11:57Next time.
12:01Come one, come all.
12:10Hmph, learned how to behave now?
12:12Let me try and reset its system.
12:15Certification system online.
12:17Please extend your right hand.
12:18Oh, why is it always me?
12:21Ah!
12:22How come it hurt even more than the other two?
12:26At least that's the final step.
12:28We can get in now, right?
12:31Sparog's certification system is no match for us.
12:34This better work.
12:35Let's get back to the gate and give it a go.
12:38Sparog.
12:39Okay.
12:57What?
12:59So you gotta know if you lock your right here.
12:59He needs to go.
13:00And you can just count it down.
13:00Just get comfortable.
13:07A situation is still alive.
13:07New to the new one.
13:09Open Sesame!
13:13See? Not so bad having Sampo on the team after all, huh? Right?
13:17Chief Oleg knew all along that I...
13:20Yeah, yeah. Thank you very much.
13:23I'll commend you to the Chief. No need to waste your time.
13:27All right. Well, let me issue a warning now.
13:30Everything from here on out is...
13:32Now to set the record straight with Sparog. Let's get in there!
13:37Did anyone hear what I just said?
13:47A gate?
13:51Why is there another gate?
13:55It looks like this gate has a more complicated structure than the last one.
14:01Sampo, what is this?
14:03Huh? Sampo?
14:07Where is he?
14:09Where did he run off to? He was just here a second ago.
14:14Hmm. This isn't the first time.
14:19It's that same type of robot again.
14:22Please don't tell me there's another route.
14:24Visitors for Sparog detected.
14:27Protocol initiating.
14:30Scamming.
14:32Verifying.
14:37Oh, good plan. Treat the robots like guard dogs.
14:42How is that going to improve our chances?
14:45Certification failure.
14:48Subject has yet to obtain access permissions.
14:51Request rejected.
14:54Visitors must acquire access permissions from Miss Clara.
14:58Clara?
14:59Oh, the girl we saw in the great mine?
15:02We need to get permissions from her?
15:04What's she got to do with this?
15:10Family.
15:12Huh. Weird.
15:13Don't trouble yourself about it.
15:16We need to find her.
15:18Hmm.
15:19I don't know if this will work.
15:20But it's worth a try.
15:23Where is Clara right now?
15:25Obtaining audio data.
15:26Please wait.
15:27An energy core's bearing component is broken.
15:31If we don't repair it soon, the settlement will be pitch black.
15:36To me, I'm going back to Ribbentown.
15:38Maybe I can recover some usable components.
15:41We need to guard the gate while I'm gone.
15:44Recording recovery complete.
15:46Resuming execution of Clara's commands.
15:49She went back?
15:51But we were just there.
15:53Sounds like we better head over again.
15:55Wait, you guys went sightseeing in another town?
15:58It wasn't as fun as you think.
16:05That little girl heading into the fragmentum all by herself?
16:08Ugh, doesn't bear thinking about...
16:12Her strength belies her appearance, but even so...
16:16You don't look so tough yourself.
16:18Well, let's find her.
16:20Svarag's not going anywhere.
16:35This is a big town.
16:37Where should we start?
16:39Claire said she was going to find components, right?
16:42Let's start with Nat's storage room.
16:47This is a big town.
16:56Is that all?
17:06Is that all?
17:13You won't get away!
17:24Let's make it quick.
17:27Let's make it quick.
17:27Batter up!
17:37Time for a detailed overhaul.
17:44Let's go!
17:48Another journey begins.
17:51There's still waters of oblivion.
17:52I've got it wandering through.
17:54Ahh!
17:56Ahhhh!
18:00Time for this!
18:07Reach the end of the story in your own blade.
18:11Yaga.
18:12Ahhhh!
18:22This is our chance.
18:31All better now?
18:34Much obliged.
18:36One at a time!
18:49One at a time!
19:12These can openers all look the same.
19:15How can you tell them apart?
19:16Shh!
19:17It's about to say something.
19:18Listen.
19:19Initializing self-repair module.
19:22Initialization failure.
19:24Clara in danger.
19:26Must protect.
19:28In danger?
19:29What do you mean?
19:30Workshop target must be in.
19:35Wait.
19:37Does it mean that a monster appeared over at the workshop?
19:39Clara, she...
19:41Not good.
19:42She's in danger.
19:43Quick, let's head over to the workshop and check it out.
19:46I know the way.
19:56Just as we feared, there's something big over there.
20:00And there's Clara.
20:01We have to save her.
20:02Let's go.
20:03No need to fear.
20:04We have the numerical advantage.
20:15This is where it ends.
20:20We have two waters of oblivion and I've got a wandering stone.
20:24Let's make it quick.
20:27How about this?
20:32Really?
20:33I made you be broken!
20:38Perhaps you still don't understand.
20:41We already know the consumer's desire to control the heavens.
20:44An unknown exception.
20:48Just in time.
20:49Just a little sighting.
20:52Think nothing of it.
20:55Don't worry.
20:56It's just a scrape.
20:57Time for a shot.
20:58You're in bad shape.
21:00Time for a detailed overhaul.
21:07It'll take more than that.
21:25That'll take more than medicine.
21:26Now time.
21:28Combat is a serious thing.
21:30Precise, Makini.
21:53How about this?
21:57Favour the vigor up there, huh?
21:59Time for a detailed overhaul.
22:02Come one and all.
22:12Are you okay, Clara?
22:13Are you hurt?
22:15Thanks, everyone.
22:16I'm fine.
22:17Just a few scratches.
22:19You shouldn't be running around by yourself.
22:21It's too dangerous.
22:23What are you looking for here?
22:24There is a fault with one of the energy supply units at the base.
22:28If I don't repair it soon, everyone at the settlement will be affected.
22:32I knew there was a workshop in this town, so I wanted to try my luck here.
22:36I found all the components I need, but then I ran into a monster.
22:41You guys saved me.
22:42I'll tell Mr. Swarag about it.
22:49Huh?
22:49Huh?
22:50What do you need to see him for?
22:52I can pass him a message.
22:54No.
22:55This time, we need to set things straight with him, face to face.
22:58Can you take us to meet him?
23:00But...
23:01Mr. Swarag doesn't like talking to others.
23:05Especially Wildfire.
23:07Don't I know it?
23:08But he's evaded communication with us for too long.
23:11This time, we have to see him.
23:17I know you're working hard for the people down here, but Mr. Swarag doesn't trust human emotions.
23:23He only trusts his calculation results.
23:26So, I can't take you to see him.
23:29If Mr. Swarag and you had a fight, someone would get hurt for sure.
23:33Maybe even bystanders.
23:35Listen, kid, you...
23:38Clara, you said it yourself before, right?
23:42Swarag's duty is to protect the underworld and preserve the civilization here.
23:47We have the same wish.
23:49Why would he refuse to cooperate with us?
23:54I know, Mr. Swarag.
23:56He isn't affected by other people's wishes.
23:58He only follows logical judgments.
24:02Terrible things are happening on this world.
24:06Mr. Swarag thinks that the overworld will end soon.
24:09What?
24:11According to his calculation results, the strength of the underworlders won't be enough to prevent the disaster.
24:18His plan is to keep the underworlders away from the source of the disaster so they can survive for longer.
24:25Isn't that just putting us in a cage?
24:27It's ridiculous.
24:29What difference does it make if our death gets postponed a couple of days?
24:32How is that better than putting up a fight?
24:42I'm always trying to convince Mr. Swarag.
24:45Please give me more time.
24:47Um, if you don't mind.
24:49I still have important things to do.
24:52I'll go back now.
24:55Clara!
24:57It's no use, Zila.
24:59She's made up her mind.
24:59I could tell from her expression.
25:01We'll have to think of another way.
25:07That's no ordinary kid.
25:09So young and yet so...
25:11stubborn?
25:12No.
25:13Intelligent?
25:14She's incisive.
25:16Undetermined.
25:18In sharp contrast to you, March.
25:21Did you really have to add that last part?
25:24It looks like we'll have to get past Clara if we want to speak to Swarag.
25:30If we circumvent Clara and the gate, Swarag will only identify us as intruders.
25:36He'll be even more likely to give us the cold shoulder.
25:39Isn't a robot shoulder cold to begin with?
25:42Clara mentioned Swarag's calculation results many times.
25:46The strength of the underworlders won't be enough to prevent the disaster.
25:50Those were her exact words.
25:53For me, that's our starting point.
25:56So, you think Swarag's logic has a hole in it?
26:00No.
26:01His calculation is correct.
26:03At its current strength, it is highly unlikely that Wildfire would be able to resolve the problems
26:08stemming from the Stellar Run.
26:11However, that calculation didn't take the present situation into account.
26:16There's a new variable yet to be added to the equation.
26:26If we can make Swarag believe in us, we can almost certainly overturn the result of his calculation.
26:32And we'll be one step closer to peace talks.
26:35But how can we get him to do that?
26:39Showing him some of our photos wouldn't cut it, right?
26:42There's always a way.
26:45But first, we have to convince Clara.
26:49I assume she must be on her way back to the robot settlement.
26:53Let's catch up with her.
26:54Okay.
27:00I don't know.
