A dog that grew up in an apartment couldn’t contain his excitement when his owners introduced him to his first-ever backyard at their new home. Megan Ferrin, 32, and her boyfriend, Dustin, raised their Staffordshire terrier Pit bull mix, Oliver, in a small one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment in Nashville, Tennessee. But as Oliver grew older, it became clear to the couple they needed more space. When he needed to go to the bathroom, it required a trip down elevators, sometimes in the middle of the night, and the couple would need to walk him to a dog park to play. Megan said the couple felt they owed a backyard to Oliver, who suffered with a rare bone condition when he was a puppy. When they made the decision to move to a spacious, three-bedroom, two-bathroom property in Charlotte, North Carolina, which had its own backyard, they couldn't wait to see Oliver's reaction.
