00:01Jibreel is the first living, breathing creature of Allah.
00:04He is the first creature that's ever been given a soul without any parents.
00:12How is he brought into existence?
00:13You know, when babies are born, they make all these noises and they figure things out.
00:17What about the malaika? What about Jibreel?
00:19When he was brought into existence, what did he say?
00:21Right?
00:22Sa'id ibn Musayyib radiallahu anhu narrates,
00:24As the angels are brought into existence, they say,
00:27There is no power or might except that of God.
00:32We have none.
00:33So as Jibreel was brought into existence, this first soul, he said,
00:39The Prophet ๏ทบ, he says,
00:41I've been given permission to tell you about just one of those angels.
00:46One of the angels who bears the throne of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:48He said, the distance between his earlobe and his shoulder is a journey of 700 years.
00:54And the narration of Ibn Khuzayma, the Prophet ๏ทบ said,
00:57A bird could fly that journey in 700 years.
01:01So how do we even determine who's a bigger angel and who's a smaller angel?
01:04And what does this have to do with Jibreel ๏ทบ?
01:06Al-Imam al-Suyuti, raheemahu Allah says,
01:09The greater the task the angel has been given, the greater the size of the angel.
01:13So that tells you right away that Jibreel ๏ทบ is even bigger than that.
01:18He's the biggest of the angels and the greatest in size because he has the greatest of tasks.
01:23The people of Lut ๏ทบ, that entire city was destroyed by the tip of one of Jibreel's wings.
01:31They were lifted up and they were destroyed by the tip of one of his wings.
01:34So it shows you the strength of Jibreel ๏ทบ.
01:37The Prophet ๏ทบ said that Jibreel ๏ทบ resides directly under the throne of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
01:43What does he look like when he's in his full form?
01:46The Prophet ๏ทบ says,
01:48Ra'aytu Jibreel, I saw Jibreel,
01:51wa lahu situ mi'ati janah.
01:53And he had 600 wings, not two or three or four.
01:56600 wings.
01:57Not only that, the Prophet ๏ทบ said, he filled up the entire horizon
02:01and he was sitting on a throne that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala provided for him.
02:05And the Prophet ๏ทบ said, not only are those 600 wings spread out,
02:10he said,
02:13There are constant rubies and pearls falling from his wings.
02:17In a narration, Ahmed, the Prophet ๏ทบ said,
02:19The color of his wings are khadra, are green, and the souls of his feet are green.
02:24There is not a single Prophet of Allah that you study,
02:26except that there is a mention of Jibreel.
02:28Seriously, just go through Qasas al-Anbiya, the stories of the Prophets.
02:31You'll find a mention of Jibreel ๏ทบ in some way, shape or form.
02:35He's got to be there.
02:36Because he has been sent to 124,000 Prophets.
02:40In the hadith of Muslim Imam Ahmad, there were 124,000 Anbiya.
02:44Amongst them, 315 were messengers, were rusr.
02:47He has been sent to each and every single one of them,
02:50to teach them, to raise them, to support them, to protect them.
02:53He was there.
02:54When Adam ๏ทบ was expelled from Paradise,
02:57did Allah communicate directly with Adam anymore?
03:00No.
03:00Now, Jibreel becomes the intermediary between Allah and Adam ๏ทบ.
03:04When Adam passes away,
03:07they didn't know what to do with his body, obviously,
03:09because human beings had never experienced death before.
03:11Allah sent Jibreel ๏ทบ and a group of angels.
03:14They washed the body of Adam ๏ทบ.
03:17They shrouded Adam ๏ทบ.
03:19They buried Adam ๏ทบ.
03:20So he's there from the very start,
03:22even with Adam ๏ทบ.
03:23Then comes the very long,
03:25one of the longest hadith actually in Sahih al-Bukhari,
03:28is this hadith,
03:28where the Prophet ๏ทบ mentions Hajar running from Safa to Marwa,
03:33running around,
03:34carrying her baby Ishmael,
03:35looking for anyone to help her.
03:37She's in an abandoned place.
03:39There's no one there, right?
03:41And the Prophet ๏ทบ says,
03:42all of a sudden she heard a sound.
03:44She said,
03:44come forth if you have anything good to offer.
03:46So the Prophet ๏ทบ says,
03:48ููุฅูุฐูุง ุฌูุจูุฑูููู
03:49Suddenly it was Jibreel.
03:50Then the Prophet ๏ทบ said,
03:52Jibreel did this.
03:53He struck the ground with his heel.
03:54When Jibreel did that,
03:56the water obviously started coming from the earth
03:59in huge loads,
04:00zamzam,
04:01comes bursting out of the ground.
04:03And the Prophet ๏ทบ said,
04:04ุฑูุญูู
ู ุงููููููู
ู ุฅูุณูู
ูุนูููู
04:05May Allah have mercy on the mother of Ismail.
04:07What she did was,
04:08she carved out the well,
04:09because she was afraid that the water would go all over the place
04:12and nothing would be left.
04:13And the Prophet ๏ทบ ๏ทบ said,
04:14had she not done that,
04:15then the entire earth would have been touched by zamzam.
04:19Now subhanAllah,
04:19think about the miracle of zamzam.
04:21Right?
04:21You know how big it is in dimensions?
04:238 by 3.
04:24And in an official research that was done on zamzam,
04:27it pumps 8,000 liters per second.
04:30That means 691 million liters per day.
04:34Zamzam.
04:35Think about how many millions of gallons.
04:37SubhanAllah,
04:37people are constantly drinking from it.
04:39It has never dried up.
04:40That's just from the strike of Jibreel's foot.
04:42Okay?
04:42You're still drinking from it till now.
04:44So that's your connection to Jibreel ๏ทบ until today.
04:47SubhanAllah.
04:47When Ibrahim and Ismail finished building the Ka'bah,
04:50Ibrahim said,
04:51ุฃูุฑูููุง ู
ูููุงุณูููููุง
04:53Oh Allah,
04:53show us the rituals.
04:54The Prophet ๏ทบ said,
04:56Allah sent Jibreel ๏ทบ.
04:57And Jibreel ๏ทบ and Jibreel ๏ทบ did the hajj with Ibrahim.
05:01Step by step,
05:03he took him through the monastic of hajj.
05:04And one shaitan tempted him from the places where the jamarat are today.
05:08Jibreel is the one who told Ibrahim to throw stones at him.
05:11And we do that today in commemoration of that moment that Jibreel told Ibrahim,
05:15throw those stones at shaitan.
05:17Do you ever associate Jibreel ๏ทบ with Jibreel ๏ทบ?
05:20You don't.
05:20I mean, you don't see.
05:21You can listen to an entire series on Jibreel ๏ทบ
05:24and Jibreel never comes into the picture.
05:26But he is there.
05:27Where is his first encounter with Jibreel?
05:30You know where it is?
05:31When his brothers threw him into that well
05:34and Jibreel ๏ทบ went plunging to the bottom,
05:37he landed in the hands of a man that he's never seen before.
05:40Jibreel ๏ทบ.
05:41Jibreel caught him to make sure that the fall was not too harsh on him.
05:46Allah does not lose you.
05:47Allah does not let you go to waste.
05:49With Isa ๏ทบ, Allah ุนุฒ ู ุฌู says,
05:51ุงููููุฏูููุงูู ุจูุฑููุญู ุงููููุฏูุณู
05:52We supported him with the Holy Spirit.
05:54And Allah even mentions it as a favor to Isa ๏ทบ.
05:57ุงููููุชููู
05:58I supported you with ุฑููุญู ุงููููุฏูุณู
06:00With the Holy Spirit.
06:01The only angel that could take a prophet
06:04and ascend and descend through the heavens is who?
06:06Jibreel.
06:07So when the plot was made to crucify him,
06:10the angel that was sent to him to take him through the heavens
06:13and to place him there until Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala decrees
06:16that he returned was Jibreel ๏ทบ.
06:18When does the Prophet ๏ทบ first see Jibreel?
06:20As a young child.
06:22Anas ibn Malik radiallahu anhu narrates
06:24that the Prophet ๏ทบ was running around
06:27playing with all of the children just like everyone else.
06:29And this is the year that his mother died.
06:31So the Prophet ๏ทบ is a complete orphan at this point.
06:34He's lost his mother
06:35and he's lost his father ๏ทบ.
06:38And he's now switching from hand to hand,
06:40I mean from lap to lap.
06:42Rasulullah ๏ทบ still was a very happy child.
06:44And he's running around playing with all of the other kids.
06:47When suddenly a man came
06:49and he grabbed Rasulullah ๏ทบ
06:51and he threw him into the ground.
06:53So all of the other children went running to their parents
06:56and they said,
06:57ุฅูููู ู
ูุญูู
ููุฏูุง ููุฏู ููุชููู
06:59that Muhammad ๏ทบ has been killed.
07:01And as they're running to their parents,
07:03the Prophet ๏ทบ is watching now
07:05what this man is about to do to him.
07:07Rasulullah ๏ทบ said,
07:09He cut my chest.
07:11He opened my chest.
07:12He grabbed the heart of the Prophet ๏ทบ.
07:15And he took something from the heart of the Prophet ๏ทบ
07:18and he said,
07:19ููุฐูุง ุญูุถู ุงูุดููููุทูุงูู ู
ููููู
07:21This is the portion of evil within you,
07:23the portion of the devil within you.
07:24And he threw it.
07:25Then the Prophet ๏ทบ said,
07:27He proceeded to wash my heart
07:28in a golden vessel of zamzam.
07:31And his heart was put back ๏ทบ.
07:34And by the time the kids got back,
07:36they found the Prophet ๏ทบ
07:37with his chest sewn up.
07:39For 34 years,
07:40the Prophet ๏ทบ knew that this happened.
07:42And we know that other miracles
07:43happened with him as well ๏ทบ
07:45with no explanation.
07:4734 years later,
07:48at the age of 40 years old,
07:50Aisha ๏ทบ said,
07:52the Prophet ๏ทบ,
07:54he started to see
07:55truthful, righteous dreams.
07:57For six months,
07:58all of a sudden,
07:59the Prophet ๏ทบ started to see
08:01truthful, righteous dreams.
08:03Good dreams.
08:04Truthful dreams.
08:05He sees in a dream
08:06that something is going to happen tomorrow,
08:08that someone is going to come visit him.
08:09The next day,
08:10that person comes and visits him,
08:11wearing exactly what he saw him
08:13in the dream doing.
08:13He sees a janazah in his dream.
08:15He wakes up in the morning
08:16and he finds out
08:17that a person has passed away.
08:18And that janazah takes place.
08:19And that continued for six months.
08:22Everything that he was seeing in his dream
08:23would come true the next night.
08:24So he already has an idea
08:26that something is happening.
08:27Just to sort of understand
08:29why the Prophet ๏ทบ
08:30would all of a sudden
08:31start going to a cave, right?
08:32And meditating and praying, right?
08:34Something very strange
08:35is happening with him ๏ทบ
08:38as he's seeing these things.
08:39Then suddenly,
08:40Aisha radiallahu anha says,
08:42Allah bestowed the love of seclusion
08:44on the Prophet ๏ทบ.
08:46Suddenly, he loved to be alone.
08:48Rasulullah ๏ทบ would climb up to Hira.
08:51Now Hira is about a two-hour climb.
08:53Suddenly, as the Prophet ๏ทบ
08:55is there one day,
08:56he sees Jibreel ๏ทบ.
08:58Now, did Jibreel come to him
08:59in the form of an angel
09:00or in the form of a human being?
09:01In the form of a human being.
09:03So you might be thinking to yourself,
09:05why in the world
09:05was the Prophet ๏ทบ scared then?
09:07Well, think about it.
09:08You're two hours up there.
09:09No one's around you.
09:10And then all of a sudden,
09:11you see a strange man
09:12standing at the mouth of the cave
09:13and he's just staring you down.
09:14He's not saying anything.
09:16A future narration
09:17gives us an idea
09:18of what happened
09:18to the Prophet ๏ทบ.
09:20Rasulullah ๏ทบ,
09:20when he told Khadija what happens,
09:22he said,
09:23ุฌุงุกูู ุงูุฐู ุฃุชุงูู ูู ุงูู
ูุงู
.
09:25The one who I was seeing
09:26in my dreams came to me.
09:28So that further establishes
09:30that the Prophet ๏ทบ
09:31had already seen Jibreel
09:32in his dreams.
09:33And so he's thinking
09:35that this is strange.
09:36I'm not sleeping right now.
09:37I'm not dreaming.
09:38Which explains why
09:39Jibreel grabbed him.
09:41He hugged him.
09:42This is real.
09:43ุงูุฑุฃ, read.
09:44That's the process
09:45of that revelation
09:46coming to the Messenger ๏ทบ.
09:48Not only that,
09:49dear brothers and sisters,
09:50but you know when you recite Qur'an,
09:52that's the easiest way
09:53to get angels to surround you
09:54is to start reading Qur'an.
09:55You know why?
09:56Because the angels
09:57have not been given
09:59the gift of the recitation
10:00of the Qur'an.
10:01And some of you are like,
10:02wait, what?
10:02The angels do not recite the Qur'an.
10:06ูุณุชู
ุนูู ุฅููู.
10:07They listen to it.
10:08There are only a few angels
10:09that Allah ๏ทป
10:10has actually given the gift
10:12of the recitation of it.
10:13Obviously Jibreel ๏ทบ
10:14and some angels.
10:16But for the most part,
10:17the angels,
10:17they listen to it.
10:19So when you start to recite Qur'an,
10:21ุฅูููู ููุฑูุขูู ุงููููุฌูุฑู
10:22ููุงูู ู
ูุดููููุฏูุง
10:23The angels witness that.
10:24The angels surround
10:25the people
10:26as they recite the Qur'an
10:27because they love to hear it
10:28since they don't recite it.
10:30SubhanAllah.
10:30He's with the Prophet ๏ทบ
10:33in every single hardship
10:34the Prophet ๏ทบ goes through.
10:36For example,
10:36Abu Jahl says
10:37that if this man
10:39puts his face in the dirt again
10:41in front of us,
10:42in front of the Ka'bah,
10:43he swore by
10:44ุงููุงุช ูุงูุนูุฒูู
10:44He swore by the idols
10:45that I'm going to step on his neck
10:46and I'm going to kill him.
10:47I'll do away with him.
10:48It'll be the end of Muhammad ๏ทบ.
10:50Prophet ๏ทบ,
10:51he comes out,
10:52he starts to pray
10:52in front of the Ka'bah.
10:54Abu Jahl starts walking
10:55towards the Prophet ๏ทบ.
10:56Suddenly he puts his hands
10:57on his face,
10:57he screams and he runs.
10:59And they asked Abu Jahl
10:59what happened?
11:00He said,
11:00the ditch of fire
11:01and he started saying
11:02these things like
11:03there is something
11:03between me and him.
11:05When the Prophet ๏ทบ
11:05finished his salah,
11:06the companions came to him
11:07and they said,
11:08what happened?
11:08He said,
11:09ูููู ููุนููููู ููุฃูุฎูุฐููู ุฌูุจูุฑูููู
11:10He said,
11:11if he would have tried that,
11:12Jibreel would have killed him.
11:13Like,
11:14I know Jibreel is there
11:15and Jibreel would have
11:16done away with Abu Jahl.
11:17Al-Qadhi Ayyad,
11:18he writes a very famous
11:19seerah of the Prophet ๏ทบ
11:20called Ash-Shifa,
11:22the cure.
11:22He describes a narration,
11:24an incident that took place
11:25between the Prophet ๏ทบ
11:26and Jibreel.
11:27Rasulullah ๏ทบ asked Jibreel,
11:29he says,
11:29you know,
11:29Allah says in the Quran,
11:30ููู
ูุง ุฃูุฑูุณูููููุงูู
11:31ุฅููููุง ุฑูุญูู
ูุฉู ููููุนูููู
ูููู
11:32We have not sent you
11:33except as a mercy
11:34to all of the worlds.
11:35He said,
11:36did any of my mercy reach you?
11:37I mean,
11:38you're part of the world,
11:39you're the realm of the Malaika,
11:40you're the realm of the angel.
11:41Did any of that rahmah reach you?
11:43Jibreel ๏ทบ responded
11:45and he said,
11:45ููุง ู
ูุญูู
ููุฏู
11:46ููุงูููููู ุฅูููููู ุฃูุญูุจูู ุงููุฃูููุจูููุงุกู ุฅููููู
11:48He said,
11:49I swear by Allah,
11:50you are the most beloved
11:51of the Prophets to me.
11:52I've never been sent to someone
11:53that I loved more than I loved you.
11:55He said,
11:56and it was through you
11:57that I gained security.
11:59What does he mean by that?
12:00He said,
12:00I used to wonder about my fate
12:02until Allah revealed to you
12:04ุนูููุฏู ุงููุนูุฑูุดู ู
ูููููู
12:07That he's established in his position
12:08with the owner of the throne.
12:09Before that was revealed to you,
12:11Jibreel used to wonder
12:12what would happen to him
12:13at the end of this all.
12:14When Allah revealed that
12:15to the Prophet ๏ทบ,
12:16Jibreel felt the rahmah
12:18of the Prophet ๏ทบ.
12:19As the Prophet ๏ทบ
12:20starts to experience
12:21the end of his life,
12:22Abu Sa'id al-Khudri
12:23ุฑุถู ุงููู ุชุนุงูู ุนูู
12:24he narrates that
12:25the Prophet ๏ทบ
12:26was standing amongst us
12:27and Rasulullah ๏ทบ
12:29was speaking
12:30and the Prophet ๏ทบ
12:32he simply said,
12:33Allah has given a choice
12:35to one of his servants
12:36between that which is in this world
12:37and that which is with Allah.
12:39He said,
12:39and that servant chose
12:40that which is with Allah.
12:42Now the Prophet ๏ทบ
12:42was completely healthy,
12:44nothing was wrong with him.
12:45So the Sahaba assumed what?
12:47That this is just some analogy
12:48that he's giving.
12:49He's just talking about some servant
12:50maybe in the past
12:51or something like that.
12:52He was given the choice
12:53between that of this world
12:54and that of the hereafter.
12:55But Abu Sa'id says,
12:56Abu Bakr broke down into tears.
12:58And he said,
12:59later on we realized
13:01that the Prophet ๏ทบ
13:02was talking about himself.
13:03ูู ุงูู
ุฎููุฑ
13:04He was the one
13:05that was given that choice.
13:06And Abu Bakr
13:06was the only one who got it.
13:08From that incident onwards,
13:09the health of the Prophet ๏ทบ
13:11started to deteriorate rapidly.
13:13The fever got to him
13:14and Rasulullah ๏ทบ
13:15started, you know,
13:16slowly, slowly
13:16his mobility was reduced.
13:18He couldn't come out
13:18as frequently.
13:19Couldn't walk.
13:20He couldn't stand
13:21when he prayed.
13:22It started to affect
13:22the Prophet ๏ทบ
13:23and started to get to him.
13:25Inside of his home,
13:26everyone was crying
13:27because they knew
13:28that the Prophet ๏ทบ's time
13:29was nearing its end.
13:31Aisha ๏ทบ
13:31then she was,
13:32you know,
13:33moving the Prophet ๏ทบ
13:34where he needed to be moved.
13:35She held the Prophet ๏ทบ
13:36tight
13:37and Rasulullah ๏ทบ
13:38was leaning against her chest.
13:40And Rasulullah ๏ทบ
13:41his eyes fell to the side
13:43on Abdur Rahman
13:44ibn Abi Bakr
13:44๏ทบ her brother
13:46and he had a siwak
13:47in his pocket.
13:47And Aisha says
13:49the Prophet ๏ทบ's eyes
13:50fell on it
13:50and so I knew
13:51that he wanted it.
13:52So I said to Rasulullah ๏ทบ
13:53do you want that?
13:54That toothbrush,
13:54the siwak.
13:55And the Prophet ๏ทบ
13:56he nodded his head.
13:57So Abdur Rahman
13:57gave it to her
13:58and it still wasn't used.
13:59So she chewed it
14:01and she softened it
14:02and she put it
14:02in the mouth
14:03of the Prophet ๏ทบ.
14:04Aisha says
14:05as soon as he finished
14:06using the siwak
14:07dakhla alayna jibreel
14:09Jibreel entered upon us.
14:11Now she looked
14:12at the Prophet ๏ทบ
14:13and she said
14:13the Prophet ๏ทบ's face lit up.
14:16Huge smile on his face.
14:17SubhanAllah.
14:18He was so happy
14:19to see Jibreel.
14:20And you know
14:20when I think about this
14:2123 years before this incident,
14:23how traumatized
14:24was the Prophet ๏ทบ
14:25by the side of Jibreel?
14:26And he didn't even know
14:27who Allah was
14:27or what Allah wanted from him.
14:29ุงูุฑุฃ ุจุงุณู
ุฑุจู
14:29ุงูุฐู ุฎููู
14:30In just 23 years
14:31the most beloved sight
14:33to the Prophet ๏ทบ
14:34was seeing Jibreel ๏ทบ.
14:35And Jibreel ๏ทบ
14:36said to the Prophet ๏ทบ
14:38I'm here to give you a choice.
14:40Either you can choose
14:41to remain amongst
14:42your companions
14:42and live well
14:43or you can have
14:44the companionship
14:45of the Most High.
14:46ุงูุฃุนูุง
14:46Allah
14:47Jibreel ๏ทบ
14:48when he said that
14:49the Prophet ๏ทบ
14:50responded
14:50ุจููู ุฑูููููู ุงููุฃูุนูููู
14:51ุจููู ุฑูููููู ุงููุฃูุนูููู
14:52Allahumma ุฑูููููู ุงููุฃูุนูููู
14:54Oh Allah
14:54the companionship
14:55of the Most High
14:56I want the companionship
14:57of the Most High
14:58I want the companionship
14:59of the Most High
14:59Aisha ุฑุถู ุงููู ุนููุง
15:01she says
15:02that the Prophet ๏ทบ
15:03soul left his body
15:05as he was saying
15:06ุงููุฑูููููู ุงููุฃูุนูููู
15:07the Most High
15:08the companionship
15:09of the Most High
15:09His hand fell
15:10and the Prophet ๏ทบ
15:11died.
15:12Now the Prophet ๏ทบ
15:13he left this world
15:14and subhanAllah
15:15everyone will leave
15:16this world
15:16and the Prophet ๏ทบ
15:17said
15:17even Jibreel
15:18will die
15:19can you imagine that
15:20even Jibreel
15:21alayhi salam
15:21will die
15:22the Prophet ๏ทบ
15:23said that
15:23after the horn
15:24is blown
15:25and the only ones
15:26that stand

15:28the ones who
15:28your Lord willed
15:29Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
15:31will have
15:31in front of him
15:32Jibreel
15:33ุฅูุณูุฑูุงูููู

15:35and the Angel of Death
15:36ุงูู
ูููุณููู
ูุงุชู ุฃูู
ูุฑูุง
15:37those who apportion
15:38the command of Allah
15:39and Allah asks
15:40the Angel of Death
15:41who remains
15:42and the Angel of Death
15:44says
15:44Oh Allah
15:45your noble face
15:46you're here
15:46ุนูุจูุฏููู
15:47ู
ูู
15:48ุนูุจูุฏููู ุฌูุจูุฑููู
15:49your servant Jibreel
15:50your servant Mikal
15:52and your servant

15:53Allah says
15:54take the soul
15:55of Mikal
15:56and Mikal's soul
15:57is taken from him
15:58then he says
15:58who remains

16:03take the soul

17:54and I would fall
17:55in prostration

18:03on the right side
18:04of the most merciful

18:37you've told the truth

20:10so you want Jibreel a.s.a.w.
