Therapy horses are helping differently abled youth and retired seniors improve their mental and physical health. As highly sensitive animals, horses are uniquely attuned to human emotions. At a facility in Hualien, eastern Taiwan, these horses have helped nine-year-old Jerry develop better communication skills and made a big difference to 64-year-old Lin Feng-yen's physical well-being.

“I used to have a hunched back and my right shoulder was noticeably uneven. When you sit on a horse, you need to engage your core and keep your pelvis aligned. My pelvis used to tilt backward too, but through riding, it was gradually corrected,” Lin said.
