00:04and this only happened because i pre-made our soil here for doing seed starting and i kind of had
00:12to
00:12stave it off because we had a real real cold cold front walk through i didn't want to start my
00:17seeds
00:18that early but what happened in those couple of weeks since i made this is we've kind of got a
00:26little science experiment going on this is white mold it is a fungus but it is perfectly fine
00:36for your soil all it is simply is the fact that we had a lot of moisture in here
00:43that had no airflow and it was able to breed these little micro fine hairs
00:50of fungus and it's actually a sign of very healthy soil that actually has a lot of bacterial activity
01:00in it so simply we can just simply turn this stuff in or really you can just let this sit
01:09out in a sunny
01:10area or day and all this bacteria will die and you want to look at it i just want to
01:19tell you guys
01:19that this is not something that we need to throw away this is something that we need to
01:26be encouraged by because it shows that what you have here is a good healthy mix of soil that has
01:34a lot of bacteria and a lot of fungus that is good and healthy for this soil now if you
01:42see this
01:43kind of growth on your potted plants it either means you need to get more airflow or you need to
01:49water less
01:51because this being closed up was perfectly fine because it didn't actually draw in fungus nets
01:59fungus nets are another sign of a lot of humidity a lot of water and not enough airflow because the
02:08gnats are there it's kind of nature's way of taking care of the fungus because the gnats eat fungus the
02:16gnats
02:16eat bacteria they eat the mold and the mildew and all that stuff so they're there to help you actually
02:23but in turn they kind of
02:25hurt things so guys if you see this kind of white mold on your plants you see it on your
02:32soil don't get
02:33freaked out it's not going to hurt anything it's actually a good sign of a good healthy soil with a
02:40lot of microbiological activity and a lot of fungal activity in it and you need to be encouraged by it
