00:00If you lick your fingers you could die.
00:01On today's show...
00:03A jaw-dropping job.
00:06I'm a children's doctor.
00:08Oh!
00:09I can't believe Sophie's a doctor.
00:11She's actually like a real-life doctor.
00:13Yay!
00:15A rousing routine.
00:17I'd had my hip operation.
00:18I reckon I could've given her a run for her money.
00:22And a kitchen clanger.
00:23I forgot to put the grill on.
00:26I was just absolutely starving.
00:28I was in pain.
00:29As a competitive cluster of cooks make their moves
00:32on the Moolah, the winner is...
00:42It's day four in South Wales
00:44and today we're in Porthcall.
00:46Home to one of the biggest Elvis tribute festivals in the world.
00:50Shane McGowan having a go in the middle there.
00:52And there's Gazza.
00:54Some are better than others.
00:57And hoping her night won't be all shook up is paediatrician Sophie.
01:02Hello, gorgeous.
01:03And it looks like she has her very own hound dog helping her today.
01:07Is that a good bum scritch?
01:09Oh, we like butt scritches.
01:11Let's just hope she washes her hands.
01:13So my night tonight is all about experiencing
01:17Middle Eastern culture, Middle Eastern flavours.
01:20I want to pack a punch.
01:22Yay!
01:23Also hoping to deliver knockout nosh was Monday's host, Farmer Claire.
01:28I'd done the best that I could with my food.
01:30So I'm really happy and I hope everyone enjoyed it.
01:34Not everyone, as civil servant Sandra thought there were a few cracks in the eggy starter.
01:40Personally, I like my yolk hard.
01:43A little bit sort of let down with the starter with the egg situation.
01:47But there was one confession that stopped Claire in her tracks.
01:50So I'm normally vegan.
01:53I say flexitarian now because outside my own house I'll eat whatever I'm given.
01:56My jaw hit the table when I found out that Sophie was a flexitarian.
02:00Really surprising that she sat there and devoured my pork and beef.
02:07Tuesday saw account manager Richard deliver a tasty treat in his local tavern.
02:14And he hit the bullseye with his grub.
02:16So this is definitely the best cheesecake I've ever had.
02:19Oh my god, don't let me tears.
02:21I just think this is absolutely stunning.
02:23But there was something else that dazzled hotel receptionist Davith.
02:27I was really surprised at how smooth Richard's chest was.
02:30Mine's like the Amazon rainforest.
02:31A two!
02:33My night went really well.
02:34And as Bruce you would say, good game, good game.
02:39Last night Davith hoped his fun bash would win him the cash.
02:42One.
02:43Two.
02:44Two.
02:45Three.
02:45Sadly he was thwarted by his terrible tofu.
02:48It was like a yoghurt with lard in it.
02:51It wasn't all doom and gloom though as he secured a new client.
02:55Would you become my personal trainer and give me the guidance I need?
02:59Nothing would make me happy.
03:00I so would love to lose weight.
03:01Nothing would make me happy my love.
03:03So everybody enjoyed my food, the ambience and the vibe was there.
03:06So I think I've definitely done enough to win.
03:08Yeah.
03:08Your last fella.
03:10Richard is currently top of the pile with a score of 35 out of 40.
03:15What's everyone expecting tonight?
03:17I think she's going to be fine dining, same as what I did.
03:20Some really nice food.
03:22I hope it's a bit of meat.
03:23I'm craving a bit of steak.
03:24I can imagine Sophie, like the kind of personality she is.
03:26Maybe like cook something really like posh cuisine-y.
03:29I am hoping there's a little bit of a meat on our menu tonight.
03:32Sophie's got a bit of an elegance about her,
03:35so I'm thinking her night's going to be on the elegant side.
03:39So tonight, mostly, I want people to have fun.
03:42I want people to really relax.
03:44I want to give people a surprise as well,
03:46because I don't think anyone's going to expect meat on my plate.
03:49And by the looks of it, there's quite a bit.
03:52Her main chicken kebabs and meat cofters with rice and chips.
03:57Oh, chicken kebabs! Oh, yes!
04:00You OK, Sandra?
04:01I don't know what meat cofters are.
04:03I hope it's not like lamb or something,
04:04because I actually can't stand lamb.
04:06I don't think I'll be able to eat it.
04:07I think it smells like sick.
04:08Tell us, Sophie.
04:10Lamb and beef. Ah.
04:13Joining the lamb and beef mix is onion, tomato paste
04:16and a plethora of herbs.
04:19I take my hat off to Sophie for including meat on this menu.
04:22I think it's really thoughtful of her.
04:25Oh, God.
04:27I think she might be regretting it.
04:30Oh, it's slimy.
04:32So, chicken kebabs and rice and chips
04:35is definitely something I'd have
04:36if I was, like, stumbling on the way home after a night out.
04:39Maybe not something I'd have at a dinner party.
04:41With the meat cofters left to rest,
04:42it's on to the chicken kebabs!
04:45I particularly hate getting my hands on raw chicken.
04:48Why is that?
04:49If you lick your fingers, you could die.
04:50So, hazards of the job.
04:53Maybe don't lick your fingers, then.
04:55Chicken kebab.
04:56Could cook it too long.
04:57Gets too dry.
04:58Could burn the chicken.
04:59Gotta be careful.
05:00And when you're under pressure in the kitchen,
05:01it's quite easy to do.
05:02The chicken is immersed in a marinade of yoghurt, pepper, paste,
05:06pomegranate, molasses and honey.
05:08I'm not happy with how it feels,
05:10but hopefully I will be very happy with how it tastes.
05:13She'll assemble and cook her meat tonight,
05:15along with veggies, rice and chips.
05:17For the starter, feta cheese wrapped in filo pastry.
05:22She goes out right.
05:23It's going to be really, really nice.
05:25Cheese is chopped.
05:26I love feta cheese.
05:28I love filo pastry.
05:29I wonder if she's going to make her own filo pastry.
05:32I have not made my own filo pastry.
05:35Not even close.
05:36I bought it myself, though.
05:38Not sure you'll get points for that.
05:40I love feta.
05:41The more feta, the better.
05:43I see what you did there.
05:44Ah, hello.
05:45So, Molly is my four-year-old cocker spaniel.
05:49I do treat her as a child.
05:51I know some people find it very annoying,
05:53but I think if we had a little camera in their head,
05:57we'd be absolutely amazed at what they understand.
06:00Whoa!
06:04No, this won't be a winning starter.
06:07Mine could be a winning starter.
06:09We'll see tomorrow, Sandra.
06:11My parcels.
06:12The cheesy cases are chilled and will be cooked tonight.
06:16Finally, it's dessert.
06:18Rose and pistachio cake with ice cream.
06:21Oh, cake. I love cake.
06:22You can't get worse on what to have it done last night,
06:25so this has got to be better, hasn't it?
06:27I love this rose and pistachio cake
06:29because it's got flavours of the Middle East.
06:31You know, pistachios are such a Middle Eastern beautiful flavour.
06:35She kicks off her cake by mixing butter, flour, sugar,
06:39baking powder and eggs.
06:42I don't like pistachio, so hopefully it's not too nutty.
06:45Don't hold your breath.
06:47Go on, get it out!
06:50All my skincare at the moment is rose, so I think it's on trend.
06:54It is!
06:56With the rose water added, it's mixed with the pistachio nuts,
07:01then popped in to bake.
07:02I'm an ice cream, Sophie's making ice cream,
07:05so it's partly ice cream to bring it on.
07:08Making yours?
07:09I am not making my own ice cream today.
07:14You're already 1-0 up, fella.
07:17Oh, yes, happy with that.
07:20With the cake baked and the food prepped,
07:22there's just enough time for...
07:30Watch out, Phil Collins.
07:32If she makes all of these elements herself,
07:35then this could definitely be a winning menu, I think.
07:37I'm really looking forward to the starter and the main.
07:39Yay!
07:40If she gets this menu right,
07:41it's going to be stiff competition, that's for sure.
07:44Dress code tonight, sparkles.
07:46I love sparkles and glitter, so that's right up my street.
07:49I'm so happy with that.
07:53Let's get this Middle Eastern show on the road.
07:56I was raised a fine girl.
07:58First to sparkle, it's Claire.
07:59Woo-hoo!
08:01Oh, my gosh!
08:02You're amazing!
08:03I got you right.
08:05Yes!
08:06Thank you so much.
08:07Come on in.
08:11Oh, great!
08:13Come on, Sophie!
08:14You can do it!
08:15Keep going, twist!
08:17Twist and pull!
08:18You're going to give yourself a Julia.
08:22Bring a year, bring a year.
08:26Ready?
08:30Yay!
08:33Easy as that.
08:34Cheers to you for your night.
08:37Sandra's next to join the Sparkles squad.
08:40Sophie!
08:41Hi, Sophie!
08:43Oh, my God, you look beautiful.
08:45You look beautiful.
08:47Where are you, babe?
08:48Oh, yeah, come here.
08:49Oh, we're all sparkly clean.
08:51These queens and princesses.
08:53Yes, you girls!
08:54Cheers!
08:56Oh, I think you may have snagged your top on the gate.
08:58David's here!
08:59Oh!
09:01David!
09:01Is it sparkly enough?
09:02Yes!
09:03I love it!
09:04I love it!
09:04I thought we'd show you some belly.
09:07Cheers!
09:08Cheers!
09:09Oh, I can't wait for tonight.
09:10I'm so excited.
09:11Yeah!
09:13Wowzers!
09:13Not to be outshone.
09:15It's the one to beat Richard.
09:17Hello!
09:18Oh!
09:19Oh, look at you!
09:21You look beautiful.
09:21You all right?
09:23Oh!
09:25Yay!
09:25Good night, James!
09:27Yay!
09:28Cheers!
09:29Good night, everyone!
09:30Yay!
09:34Coming up!
09:35Fabulous theatre!
09:37Sophie, this is amazing.
09:39This is really, really delicious.
09:41Probably one of the nicest starters, well, for a long time.
09:44And rock band rivalry.
09:46Definitely the front man.
09:48Sorry, Dav.
09:49There's only one front man in this group.
09:51You're looking right at him.
09:58It's night four in South Wales.
10:01Yay!
10:01Where children's doctor Sophie hopes she's got the perfect remedy
10:05to dazzle her diners and grab the grand.
10:08Right, guys, I'm going to leave you here, have a look around,
10:12make yourselves at home.
10:13You will.
10:13I'm going to get your starter ready.
10:15Woo!
10:17Thank you, Soph.
10:18Whilst Sophie puts her philo parcels in to fry,
10:21Sandra and Claire make a musical discovery.
10:24Oh, my gosh.
10:26This is like a studio.
10:29Like all instruments?
10:30There was drums, guitars, a microphone.
10:35What's that thingy called?
10:37Piano?
10:38Piano.
10:42Should we have a rock out?
10:44Let's go!
10:44Let's go!
10:50What a racket!
10:53Back in the kitchen.
10:54This is the scary bit.
10:57The pastry parcels are plated and covered in honey.
11:01Let's hope the starter is a hit.
11:03Here it is, feta cheese wrapped in philo pastry.
11:08Thank you, Poodie Farm.
11:10It looks amazing.
11:11It does, honestly.
11:12It looks cuisine.
11:20So, Claire, what do you think?
11:22Sophie, this is amazing.
11:23This is really, really delicious.
11:26The feta with the pastry and the honey is really delicious.
11:30Oh, I'm so glad you liked it.
11:31Really, Claire?
11:32Wow, this starter is one of the best this week, for sure.
11:35No criticism, just that it wasn't enough.
11:38Blimey, she meant it!
11:40That's amazing.
11:41That's my bag and I love that pepper cheese.
11:43It's gorgeous.
11:44It was an excellent start to any three-course meal.
11:47Probably one of the nicest starters I've had for a long time.
11:52I mean, I've got to say, Soph, as cheesy starters go,
11:56I think this could be feta than mine.
11:58Oh!
12:00Thank you very much.
12:01I have to, sorry.
12:02No, fair enough.
12:03My only criticism was maybe, like, a few more of the philo parcels
12:07and maybe just, like, a stick of it or something,
12:09just, like, nibbled on it.
12:11But, like, yeah, it was delicious.
12:12I really liked it.
12:13It is absolutely stunning.
12:16So enjoyed it.
12:18Really beautiful.
12:19The combination of all the flavours together was stunning.
12:23I was really pleasantly surprised.
12:25Everyone seemed to genuinely love it.
12:27So I'm so pleased.
12:28Even if they hate everything else,
12:30at least one of my three courses has gone down well.
12:32Strong start.
12:34Time to find out a bit more about Sophie.
12:36Can anybody have a guess about what I might do for a living?
12:40I reckon you're in entertainment.
12:42Hmm.
12:44I can picture you somehow as, like, a school teacher.
12:47I think you're professional.
12:48You're, like, a solicitor or a lawyer or something.
12:51I think you are very intelligent.
12:53Tell us, please, what do you do to put us out of our misery?
12:56Drum roll, please!
12:59Not you, Sandra.
13:00I'm a children's doctor.
13:03Oh!
13:04Wow!
13:05You're a doctor, isn't it?
13:06Yeah, I'm a doctor.
13:07Oh, my God!
13:09That's amazing!
13:10I love you all about!
13:12I can't believe Sophie's a doctor.
13:14She's actually, like, a real-life doctor.
13:16Like, she's a doctor.
13:19I can imagine you being the best paediatrician there ever is.
13:23Honestly.
13:23I would love my children to be looked after by you.
13:26Oh, my God.
13:26Honestly, that's the nicest thing, honestly.
13:28I wouldn't be happy for her to look after me, obviously,
13:30because she's trained to look after children,
13:32but saying that I do have a mental capacity of a five-year-old,
13:35so I honestly wouldn't mind, to be honest.
13:36I've got a few degrees.
13:39Oh.
13:39My first degree was, erm, a Bachelor of Arts from Oxford.
13:45Oh!
13:47What?!
13:48Shut the French door!
13:50Wow!
13:51So, everyone, if you would like to wait outside,
13:54I have a little surprise for you.
13:57Ooh!
13:58Ooh!
13:58I wonder what it could be.
14:00Welsh male voice choir, bouncy castle, red arrows display.
14:05Well, I was not expecting that.
14:08Yay!
14:15Sophie just keeps on surprising me, and her belly dancing was just phenomenal.
14:21I'm really happy we ended up doing belly dancing today,
14:24because I feel like I've got the perfect outfit.
14:25My top is halfway up my belly, so that's amazing.
14:28Yay!
14:30If I'd add my hip operation, I reckon I could've given her a run for her money.
14:36With the belly bonanza over, and a quick outfit change,
14:40Sophie makes moves on her mane.
14:44Not a convincing start.
14:47Whilst the kebabs are cooking, she fries up her veggies.
14:50I'm not used to cooking with meat, so I'm not 100% sure about the timing.
14:54I don't want anyone to die.
14:56That wouldn't be great for my CV.
14:58With frozen chips cooked, rice boiled...
15:01Done.
15:02Sophie is ready to plate!
15:05Or not!
15:07So, I've made a mistake.
15:09I forgot to put the grill on.
15:12Oh!
15:12Whoops!
15:13I'll say.
15:16You've got to do something!
15:17You're losing them!
15:20It's coming up to an hour now between my courses.
15:24An hour?
15:25That's a teeny bit long for a chicken kebab.
15:27Yeah, I think they're going to be quite hungry.
15:29Oh, you think?
15:30Look at Richard, he's wasting away!
15:32It could smell the food cooking, it smelled lovely,
15:34so the taste buds were tingling and we wanted to get in it,
15:36but it took an age to cook.
15:38I was just absolutely starving, I was in pain.
15:40And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...
15:43Chicken a la bin.
15:45Hmm, not a great surprise.
15:47Still, at least it'll distract them from the frozen chips.
15:50I feel like my chances of winning this just went right down the drain.
15:54Let's find out.
15:55With the chicken plated...
15:57It's done!
15:59The main is finally ready!
16:01Charred chicken kebabs, lukewarm koftas, cold chips and some salad.
16:05Bon Appetit, everyone!
16:07Sophie!
16:08Yay!
16:09Yay!
16:10Yay!
16:12Thank you, Sophie!
16:14Oh, that's delicious!
16:17OK, so I know you've probably all like half died from starvation at this point.
16:24Everyone, please tuck in.
16:26Oh, thank you, my love, thank you.
16:34I've never tried these, why are they called koftas?
16:36Koftas.
16:37I've never tasted them before, they're gorgeous.
16:40The koftas.
16:41No, try again.
16:43Koftas.
16:44No!
16:45Koftas.
16:46Still no.
16:47Koftas.
16:48Let's go with that.
16:49I've never tasted that before and that was delicious.
16:53The flavour in the koftas is beautiful.
16:55I'm loving the chicken, really tender.
16:58A bit of sauce with it would have been fantastic to marry it up,
17:01but yeah, really, really nice.
17:03The chicken kebab was juicy, was succulent, it was really nice,
17:07but everything else seemed a bit dry.
17:10I actually was hoping that they would be lamb koftas,
17:13because they're my fave and you have knocked spots off my favourite lamb koftas,
17:17which I buy.
17:18I love the main.
17:19It could have done with a little bit of like a dippy sauce or something,
17:24because I just found it a little bit dry.
17:27Honestly, Soph, this is amazing and I'm so thankful,
17:31because obviously you don't eat meat.
17:33Oh, bless you!
17:35Oh, this!
17:37Oh, you've done amazing, honestly.
17:41Oh, Soph.
17:43It didn't go wrong at all.
17:44This is amazing.
17:45This is lovely, honestly, I'm telling you, this is stunning.
17:48I think she got upset because she just wanted to please us
17:50and I think she felt as though she let us down,
17:52but she didn't and she was a brilliant toast.
17:55So, the fact that she actually doesn't cook meat generally,
17:58and she actually did it for all of us tonight,
18:00honestly, hats off to her, honestly, really proud of her.
18:02Cheers to Sophie!
18:05Yay!
18:07Woo!
18:08To hear that they liked it, it just took all that anxiety away
18:11and I think I just broke a little bit.
18:13This actually tastes like a paediatrician's made this.
18:16I think that's a compliment!
18:18So, honestly, you should be really proud of yourself.
18:20It tastes...
18:21No, it tastes...
18:22No, I mean, it tastes...
18:24No, I mean, when I'm saying that,
18:26I mean, it tastes really caring.
18:28You know what I mean?
18:29It tastes like a lot of care has gone into this.
18:31That wasn't actually meant to be funny.
18:32I was honestly just trying to say, like,
18:34a caring person has made this food.
18:36I mean, obviously, it was an absolutely hilarious comment,
18:39like, thank you.
18:40But, you know, you can thank my brain for that.
18:42Me and Claire went for a little walk earlier.
18:45They found some musical instruments.
18:47What's that all about?
18:48I like music.
18:50I play the clarinet, the violin, the piano...
18:55And the drums!
18:56Not only has she got loads of degrees,
18:58she can play loads of musical instruments.
19:01She's a doctor.
19:02She's been to Oxford.
19:03And do you know what?
19:04I still think there's more for her to tell us.
19:07If we were all going to be in a band,
19:09who do you think...
19:10What part do you think we'd all play?
19:11Oh, let's say a five-piece band. Right, let's go.
19:13Oh, I know.
19:13I'd play the bass.
19:14I would definitely play the bass.
19:16Right, so background.
19:17Yeah.
19:17Right, OK.
19:18Just cool.
19:18Yeah.
19:20Can I play the drums, please?
19:24Do-do-do-do.
19:27Definitely the front man.
19:29Sorry, Dav.
19:30Be this front man.
19:31You know what, Richard,
19:32I think I'll have to be the front man as well.
19:33We can be bam instead of wah.
19:35Yeah, exactly.
19:36I'll bam you over so I can take your spot.
19:38Yeah.
19:39I said I want to be the front man
19:40because I knew that Dav had wanted be the front man,
19:43so it was a bit childish, really.
19:44I thought I'd get in here before him,
19:45see how he'd react.
19:48Richard,
19:49there's only one frontman in this group.
19:50You're looking right at him.
19:55So, now the main is out of the way, thankfully,
19:57all I have left is to give them a lovely dessert.
20:01Yes, about that.
20:02The cake is carved, shop-bought ice cream is dolloped
20:07and dessert is done.
20:08Rose and pistachio cake with shop-bought ice cream
20:11and a flower.
20:16Did you make the ice cream, did you see, or not? No.
20:20OK, I need to know where you bought it.
20:21Mmm. Disappointed she didn't make the ice cream herself.
20:25I was disappointed.
20:27I've got to say, like, that cake is delicious.
20:29Like, I love nothing more than cake.
20:31And, like, you can actually taste that rose coming through there.
20:33Like, I honestly love it.
20:35Pleasantly surprised about the dessert.
20:37It was light and fluffy and really flavoursome.
20:40I think the lemon cake is lovely.
20:41You can taste the lemon coming through here.
20:43The ice cream is really nice. I've never had it before.
20:45The cake, even though everyone said they enjoyed it,
20:47I felt it was a bit dry.
20:48I didn't really enjoy the dessert, I'm sad to say.
20:50Right, how about some doggy fun?
20:52Oh, my God, we got a poodle by you.
20:55Just the curls, isn't it?
20:56Yeah, yes.
20:57I must be a bulldog.
21:05All right, heel, Sandra, heel.
21:08Just when the night couldn't get any more bizarre.
21:10All right, heel, Sandra, heel.
21:22Just when the night couldn't get any more bizarre.
21:25And I wanted to show the guys all about me.
21:28And I hope I've achieved that.
21:29Scores, please!
21:31Sophie's night was full of surprises.
21:33Her food was good, few little mistakes.
21:36So, for that reason, I'm going to give her an eight.
21:38Tonight, it started off really well, but then went downhill after that.
21:42So, for that reason, I'm giving Sophie a seven.
21:45The food was absolutely amazing.
21:47It tasted absolutely great, but there were a couple of elements that did let her down.
21:50So, I would love to give Sophie an eight.
21:53Sophie has been an incredible host tonight.
21:56She even cooked meat.
21:57So, for that reason, I'm giving Sophie an eight.
21:59An impressive score of 31 isn't enough to ruin Richard's reign, but it does leave Sophie in second place.
22:09Next time, fairytale fashion.
22:12There's no place like no!
22:14And unfavourable feedback.
22:16I think the dessert dish today was the worst course we've been served this week.
22:22Obviously, I really wish that they would have said that to me at the time.
22:26But it's like...
22:38sollmagic start a conference.
22:39I love this.
22:40See you guys all of it.
22:40I'm just wowirs.
22:41Hey sh
22:42Oh wait.
22:50This is fun.
22:53Okay?
22:54I go go, but that's up.
