One of my all-time favorite Zelda games is The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. I’ve always been drawn to the darker, more unsettling tone of the game — especially the mask transformations. The Zora mask scene in particular was by far the creepiest. The way Link screams in agonizing pain during the transformation is pure nightmare fuel… and I’ve always loved that eerie vibe.
That’s when inspiration struck.
Why not fuse that disturbing transformation energy with one of my all-time favorite metal bands, Slipknot?
My favorite Corey Taylor mask has to be the Dead Skin / Mangled Face era. For this piece, I kept the mask completely eyeless to crank up the creep factor — and as a nod to “Eyeless” from their self-titled album. I added grotesque yellow zombie teeth to push the horror aesthetic even further.
Zelda darkness meets Slipknot chaos.
This was the result. 🖤💀
