00:00Hey folks, Jack from Channel 37 here and we recently released Update 2 for The Last Caretaker.
00:05We're really pumped with all the changes we've made to the game and I wanted to walk
00:09you through some of the finer points of each one.
00:12Number 1.
00:13The Jetski The Jetski is all about speed and freedom.
00:17Up until now, exploration in The Last Caretaker has been very deliberate.
00:21Your ship is powerful, but it can also be a commitment.
00:24The Jetski changes that.
00:25It's fast, nimble and perfect for scouting.
00:28You can zip out, check a structure, grab a resource and be gone in seconds.
00:33It also makes the ocean feel bigger, not slower, but more alive.
00:36You're weaving through platforms and discovering things you might have sailed right past before.
00:40This is the vehicle for curiosity and sweet jumps.
00:45Number 2.
00:46Ship Decorations Boat decorations might sound cosmetic, but they
00:50actually change how your boat feels.
00:52Your boat isn't just transportation, it's your safe space.
00:55It's where you plan, recover and regroup.
00:58Update 2 lets you personalize that space with cosmetic upgrades.
01:02You can mix and match the various paint schemes you find throughout the world.
01:06Make yours exactly the way you want it.
01:08The more time you spend out on the water, the more your boat starts to feel like home
01:12instead of just a tool.
01:14Number 3.
01:15Mineable Ore
01:16Ore introduces a new layer to exploration.
01:19This isn't a resource you stumble into accidentally.
01:22You find it by poking into places that look interesting.
01:26It ties directly into crafting and progression, which means exploration is now even more rewarding.
01:32If you like the feeling of seeing something on the horizon and wondering if it's worth the trip,
01:37ore gives you a very good reason to go find out.
01:40Number 4.
01:41The Maze
01:42The maze is designed to make you uncomfortable in a good way.
01:46It's dense, confusing and easy to lose your sense of direction.
01:50There are no clean sight lines, no obvious landmarks and no quick exits.
01:55You're meant to slow down, pay attention and trust your instincts.
01:59This is exploration at its most tense.
02:02The reward isn't just what you find, it's surviving the experience.
02:07Number 5.
02:08Buildable Decorations
02:09Buildable decorations push personalization even further.
02:13This isn't about efficiency or survival, it's about ownership.
02:16Use the replica scanner to copy items you see throughout the world and then make them your own.
02:21You're not just passing through this world anymore, you're shaping parts of it,
02:25leaving a mark and making spaces feel lived in.
02:28It's optional, but incredibly satisfying.
02:30Especially for players who enjoy slowing down and making the world a place they'd want to live.
02:35Number 6.
02:36A New Biome and New Quests
02:38The new biome introduces a completely different atmosphere.
02:42New visuals, new layouts and new challenges change how you approach exploration.
02:47And with new quests tied to it, there's more story to uncover and even more context about
02:51the world and your role in it.
02:53What is going on with this world?
02:55Where is everyone?
02:56What happened?
02:57These are all mysteries you can dive into.
03:00Update 2 is about choice.
03:01How fast you move, where you explore and how much of the world you want to make your own.
03:06And that's what The Last Caretaker has always been about.
03:09The Last Caretaker is available now on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
