00:06where the Taliban as a misogynistic oppressive group are limiting women from every right
00:13from the right to learn, the right to work
00:15and they're punishing women who dare to speak out, who dare to go to work in secret, who dare to
00:21learn in secret
00:22and you know it should be a wake-up call to us
00:26it should alarm the world that such oppressive things can happen
00:30where half of the population is being erased from public life
00:33but when I look at this the stillness and how the world is like looking away
00:39and still like it's been nearly five years and we don't see any progress
00:43rather we're seeing the Taliban announcing new extreme rules
00:48that a woman cannot be seen from the window of her house
00:51and even if she is sick and she needs to see a doctor
00:54like you know they are limited in their public movement as well
00:57when the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021
01:00and the years after that how they have been announcing these new rules
01:05and limiting women from work and have prohibited girls from learning
01:10it is a reminder to us that there is little protection for women and girls
01:15there is little support in the international law
