275 Taiwanese nationals have returned home on one of the first flights coming out of Dubai since the war erupted in the Middle East, while others have made their way back through relatively more dangerous routes.

00:13There are among 275 Taiwanese nationals who arrived back at home at Taiwan's largest
00:19international airport on Wednesday, one of the first flights to return from the region
00:23since the conflict broke out nearly a week ago. Many on board had to find their way from other
00:29affected places to make the flight.
01:00A few have also sought alternative routes back to Taiwan, but the risks were higher as they had
01:06to pass by U.S. military bases, key targets of retaliatory Iranian strikes.
01:31The foreign ministry has advised Taiwanese to find safer passage, including through Oman and Jordan,
01:38countries which have not seen extensive damage. But the tourism administration says as of Wednesday,
01:44at least 180 Taiwanese nationals are still stuck in the Middle East.
01:49They and their families and loved ones hoping for a quick and safe return home.
