39:59When I was 12 years old.
40:01Mercifully for them.
40:02They died instantly.
40:04Mercifully for me.
40:06The St. Thomas scholarships existed.
40:10I didn't have anybody else to help me.
40:14Had a lot of memories.
40:15A love of hockey.
40:17And a huge hole in my heart.
40:20St. Thomas filled it with hope.
40:22The hope of a new family.
40:25Things weren't always easy.
40:27You know, they never are for anybody.
40:29But in hockey, I found what I was missing.
40:34First at my high school.
40:35Then later at college.
40:36And now here with the admirals.
40:38And I never looked back.
40:40Because I never had to.
40:44The family I craved.
40:46The family that I needed.
40:47That I still need today.
40:50Hockey gave it to me.
40:53And St. Thomas gave me hockey.
