Costa Rica makes history with the creation of the first symphony orchestra comprised exclusively of women. This initiative by the ministry of culture and youth brings together 70 performers from Costa Rica and other Latin American countries with the aim of promoting gender equality in the music industry. The orchestra will make its debut with two free concerts on March 6 and 7, in celebration of International Women's Day. The repertoire will include works by historical and contemporary composers, such as the Costa Rican Mariana Cruz. The minister of culture and youth, Jorge Rodríguez Vives, highlighted the importance of this project in creating opportunities in the artistic field.
