00:00Okay, so what I'd do for a living.
00:02Rachel Atherton, just housewife.
00:04Not just, this is a legit job.
00:07No.
00:14What month should I choose for my career?
00:17The fastest mom in the world.
00:19Atherton smashes it.
00:21Rachel is the reason why I started downhill racing.
00:23She's my biggest idol.
00:24Valentina Hall, the world champion.
00:26It's almost like two generational talents clashing.
00:30It's been a mixture of great fun, exhaustion and complete trauma.
00:37Oh God, when I look back I'm just like, what the fuck was I thinking?
00:50Start it up.
00:51It's been a long off season.
00:53Downhill racing is back from Lenzerheide in Switzerland.
00:59Finally, finally, finally.
01:01It's a chance to get some riders between the tapes.
01:03Start it up.
01:04Let's check out this absolutely superb Bike Kingdom lens behind a track.
01:08405 metres of elevation drop makes it the shortest track of the season.
01:12But one that demands absolute precision.
01:16One of the favourites to win this weekend.
01:18Valentina Hall.
01:22You got that?
01:24No!
01:26So Vali is the prodigy of downhill mountain biking.
01:36When she was in juniors she won almost everything.
01:42She's the woman to be.
01:50Well I mean there were rumours the whole winter already that Rachel is training and is coming back.
01:55As you wander through the pits, massive talking point here, Rachel Atherton.
01:59The British multiple UCI world champion have been absent since 2019.
02:04And every time I ask her, what's your plan about next season?
02:07There was no answer.
02:20I think Rachel Atherton to me, I almost struggle to find the words because I am so in awe of
02:26what she's been able to do.
02:31Rachel Atherton sprints to the line and goes fastest.
02:34There was no one to me that has ever dominated the way that she has.
02:39An insane amount of race wins.
02:41I don't think anyone's ever gone from close to the amount of times that lady has won races.
02:49She has done what almost no one else has done.
02:53And she's one of the only riders to ever have basically a perfect season.
02:56So she won every World Cup down in the race in the 2016 season.
03:00Atherton smashes it.
03:0216 races in a row.
03:04I think in terms of a true competitor and the kind of one run and done balls to the wall
03:09racer,
03:09she's one of the pinnacles of that.
03:13She comes from a family of mountain bikers.
03:16And I think the Athertons as a whole kind of embody downhill.
03:19She has a brother, G Atherton, who has won the World Cup overall.
03:23Then she has another brother, Dan, who is also this incredible athlete.
03:28They had been on the top for so long.
03:31And when you think of Rachel as an athlete, you kind of think of her as the valley hole before
03:37valley hole.
03:38Rachel is the reason why I started downhill racing.
03:41She's my biggest idol and she created her enemies.
03:48Don't look old.
03:51Guess I am old.
03:53You're too great.
03:54Well, I guess I had a break.
03:57I mean, I literally broke my foot.
04:10Devastating news as World Champion Rachel Atherton ruptured an Achilles tendon in practice.
04:16The only thing I do know is that Rach is a fierce competitor, you know.
04:19She'll get back to a good team and they'll do what they can to get her right and see her
04:23back.
04:25As a woman, as soon as you hit 30, your sponsors are saying, like, when are you going to retire?
04:30Like, are you going to have kids?
04:31And I remember Trek, like, sat down with them in their HQ and they were like, you know, what are
04:35your family plans?
04:36When are you going to have a kid?
04:37And I was like, literally, I've just won the World Cup over all the world champs.
04:42Like, I was at the top and then I snapped my Achilles tendon and I was just so pissed off.
04:46Then it was lockdown and I was just like, pfft, let's just have a baby, you know.
04:50It's never going to be the right time, is it?
04:53I got all warmed up, ready to do the ropes in the gym.
04:57And I went up to check on her and she'd woken up.
05:00I've put her in the pram and hopefully she can watch me while I do it.
05:05After I had Ana, I knew I wanted to do some more World Cups at some point.
05:10I sometimes feel, like, guilty for wanting to go back to racing as if the life with her isn't enough.
05:18She is my whole life, but it wasn't quite enough.
05:24Like, I did need more. I knew I wasn't done.
05:29Yeah, I think this year, I just, I remember thinking,
05:32oh my God, Lenza Hyde's quite soon and that's the shortest track.
05:36In theory, that's the easiest one.
05:38But it was pretty spare at the moment decision, really.
05:40I'm considering going to World Cup in one month's time with literally no training.
05:44Like, it's ridiculous.
05:46But life's not perfect. If you wait for everything to be perfect, you just won't do anything.
05:54Rachel Afford and very much the surprise package for this Lenza Hyde race.
05:58No one expected to see her here.
06:01On one hand, I was, like, super stoked because now there's a mum coming back and racing.
06:06On the other hand, it was, like, one competitor more and one competitor who can actually win a World Cup
06:11race.
06:12It was cool to just be back in that environment. I didn't even have to think about it, you know.
06:16I knew exactly what I was doing. Like, this is my thing. It was so sick.
06:22Anna was happy with my mum and Ollie. I just was doing it. Like, it was so cool.
06:27And that's where I'm the best version of myself, I think.
06:30Feels like she hadn't finished properly when she got injured with her Achilles and then pregnant.
06:36So, something she's just got to work through for herself, I think.
06:39Mummy working. Yeah.
06:41I saw her qualifying time and I was, like, OK, that's impressive.
06:44I'm not scared. I think it's a good motivation.
06:48It's just mad, like, the rollercoaster of emotions.
06:51You actually thrive in this environment. You don't realise it until it's not there.
06:56Yeah.
06:56And then you're thinking, man, what am I supposed... What am I doing?
06:59Yeah, what are you going to do?
07:01Like, I found myself, like, after Anna, like, you know, a few months in and not having, like, any adrenaline
07:07and stuff.
07:08And I'd be, like, finding myself, like, trying to... Just, like, driving really fast.
07:12Just to get a bit of, like... Yeah.
07:14And it's, like... And I was, like...
07:16Maybe I need to start, like, doing some sport again.
07:21Hello, everyone, and welcome to the press conference here.
07:24Vali, tell us about the first race of the season.
07:27Well, I'm just stoked we're back racing. It's been way too long.
07:31Obviously, it's a brand new environment, like, different timetable, semi-final and final race, so it's totally different for us.
07:38This year was probably the biggest shakeup, at least in the last decade, where the format changed, and we have
07:45a semi-final now.
07:46So you have qualifying on a Friday, let's say, and then you have, on a Saturday, a semi-final, which
07:54is another race run, and then you go back up a couple hours later and do a finals run.
07:58Oh, that's... That's a lot of racing.
08:03Yeah. So the racers have had to adjust to that.
08:08So we are going to narrow it down from 18 riders. 10 will go through to the final.
08:14Enjoy.
08:15We do have some protected riders in there as well, but some of the big names will have to be
08:21careful.
08:22It's not a given that they're going through.
08:24Yeah, because I'm not protected.
08:26So it seems to go steady, like, not mental fast, because I've got to do it again later.
08:30Yeah.
08:31I was a bit skeptical about the new format.
08:33It's definitely a lot more physical and harder for your mental side of racing.
08:43This woman, Valentina Ho, the world champion, is on course for the first time in 2023.
08:49And you can see how hard she's pushing already.
08:51Oh, she's going on semi-final. She won those points.
08:54And she's dangerous.
08:56Like, so comfy on the bike. Aggressive.
08:59Oh, oh, oh!
09:00The valley hole goes down.
09:04Shakes the head. I wonder if she's done any damage.
09:07Yeah.
09:07The levers are the wrong way around. She is protected, though.
09:10Yeah.
09:10But now the most important is to reset the button and pretend this didn't happen.
09:17And this is a harder thing.
09:18It's such a fascinating sport.
09:19Made even more fascinating by the semi-final format this season.
09:24Where's mummy? Where's mummy?
09:29Shout, mummy.
09:31In the start hut now, Rachel Affernan.
09:33We are waiting for this, for Rach Attiton to go back into business.
09:38Oh, here we go.
09:38Here we go, then.
09:39Here we go.
09:40Now we're talking.
09:40It was probably the first race in my career where I just had no pressure at all.
09:46Like, I had absolutely no expectations.
09:49I was just racing World Cup just for the sheer love of it, really.
09:54And that was so freeing.
09:58I've got nothing to prove to anyone or myself.
10:01Nothing mattered at all.
10:02I was just totally free.
10:05The fastest mum in the world.
10:07Yeah, riding for Affernan Continental.
10:10Do you know what, Cedric?
10:11She used to race like she looks like she's racing today.
10:14Just supposed and fast, not in trouble.
10:16And look at every inch.
10:18The six-time world champion that the sport knows and loves.
10:22What a run.
10:24Well, stand by your beds, everyone.
10:26Rachel Affernan is back at a UCI World Cup downhill race.
10:311.6 seconds faster than Nina Hoffman in the new look hot seat.
10:37When I got second in semi-finals, I was like, what?
10:42Oh, shit.
10:44And then it all, like, came back.
10:45And I was like, oh, my God.
10:47Like, crushing under the pressure, like, to perform.
10:50And that was, like, mad.
10:51I couldn't believe that I was second.
10:53I'll just do the same again.
10:54I don't fucking care if I win, but I'm not prepared to win.
10:57No, don't.
10:57That's what you want to do as fast.
10:59Yeah.
11:01I like how, after all these fucking years,
11:03you still give yourself something to stress about.
11:05How do you manage to do that?
11:08Bad sport.
11:08Bad sport.
11:11Well, here we are then.
11:12The first UCI mountain bike downhill World Cup, ready to be at the top, preparing
11:18for this elite women's race...
11:22Valentina Hall, the world champion, had a crash in the semi-finals but she's back at it.
11:26Did she do the reset button?
11:33Yo, yo, yo, yo, she's going for it.
11:36Yep, that little crash in the semis, a little anger goes a long way.
11:40Yeah, maybe it make more naps or maybe 1.6.
11:50Ooh, the bag was going sideways left and right.
11:5352 kilometres an hour down there, Hall off the final drop.
11:57What is she going to stop the clock at?
11:59Valentina Hall stops at a 3.09.27, 1.8 quicker than Marine Caberu.
12:05Valley Hall in the hot seat with two racers left to go amongst them.
12:09The most successful rider of all time, Rachel Afferden.
12:13I feel really tired and nervous.
12:16Oh, I hate this.
12:17The pressure, like, don't let it get to you.
12:20I just need to do the same again, don't I?
12:21Like, I'm not trying to win.
12:25Here we are at the top of it.
12:27Rachel Afferden is on track.
12:3139, UCI World Cup wins to her name and she dearly loved to make it a nice round.
12:3540.
12:36Wow!
12:37And she won for 39 of the first split.
12:40I didn't have to see the timing, I could tell.
12:42It's like Cedric and I have jumped into some kind of time travelling DeLorean
12:46and come back a few years.
12:47It's business time today for Rachel Afferden.
12:51Yeah, I told you she was losing time.
12:53She looked a little bit slower than the other ladies on that wood section.
13:01No one knew when she turned up here at the start of the week what sort of Rachel Afferden was
13:05going to turn up,
13:05but she's not 0.6.
13:06Now she's going to have to hit the gas.
13:08If she does want to go into the hot seat,
13:10Rachel Afferden needs to pedal her weight in the line.
13:12Is it going to be enough for Afferden?
13:25She's done it!
13:27She's done it!
13:28Rachel Afferden takes the hot seat with only one rider left at the top for Continental Afferden.
13:34What a run from Rachel Afferden rolling back the years.
13:39Is it going to be enough to win it today?
13:41Back to business!
13:42Camille Ballard!
13:43What can she do about that?
13:45Can she spoil the Afferden family party?
13:49She's a second back on the British rider.
13:51Could Rachel Afferden be about to steal her 40th career victory?
13:55Camille Ballard!
13:56Can she beat Rachel Afferden?
13:58Camille Ballard's down the line!
14:01She can't beat Rachel Afferden!
14:03Half a second back!
14:04A World Cup for Liverpool!
14:12Rachel Afferden wins the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup
14:16here in Lanzerheide in Switzerland.
14:20A moment of mountain bike history is made.
14:26That was nice, mate.
14:28I was shocked.
14:30I felt like we jumped back four years.
14:34I dreamed of, like, winning a World Cup after having Arno.
14:38I was, like, waiting for these emotions to, like, wash over me.
14:42And then nothing came.
14:45I just felt totally empty.
15:08It's like I knew what I should be feeling, and I could go through the motions, but I actually just
15:12felt, like, absolutely nothing.
15:19And then I was like, maybe this isn't, like, right anymore.
15:23Oh, God, when I looked back, I was just like, what the fuck was I thinking?
15:27Like, just chill out, like, have a kid, just chill out for a bit.
15:31Yeah, it was, like, I just was shocked, really.
15:35The women's and the leaders, after a lesson high, will come to Necco Rutgers, it is...
15:41...Rachel Appertal!
15:48I'm not really sure what we're going to do now, then.
15:51No, she's got the leaders jersey.
15:53What is it?
16:02That goal of winning a World Cup after having Arno, that happened so soon.
16:06In a way, it's a bit annoying, cos you don't need to carry on, then.
16:10You've already done it.
16:11Yeah, yeah.
16:11So you can, like, you can stop straight away, and you're like, I wish it had took longer, cos then
16:16I could have done more, or, like, trained, you know.
16:18Yeah, the process of getting to that, to that point.
16:21Yeah.
16:21And you're, like, a real product of your environment, as well.
16:24Like, if you're in that environment, you change as a person.
16:26Whereas I can tell, if you've been at home for weeks on end with Arno, like, going down the park,
16:30doing the stuff that's really fun for Arno, but not that stimulating for you.
16:33Like, you can see the difference when you're engaged in, like, the race world.
16:37Yeah, like I've said it before, and I wish I could be happy just doing, just being Arno's mum and
16:42that's it, but it's not enough, really.
16:45I mean, it is enough, but I need to do more as well.
16:51There was, Leogang was straight after Lentide, so G was like, Rach, you've got to do Leogang now, like, you've
16:57got to do the next one.
16:57I was like, that's so stupid.
16:59Like, the more races I do, the stupider it is, because the more likely I could get hurt.
17:04You know, if I hurt myself now, like, you're going to have to take time off work and, like, it's
17:09going to be...
17:09Well, that was definitely, like, something that I was worried about.
17:12Yeah, we spoke about it, didn't we?
17:13Yeah.
17:16And G was sat there at dinner, like, come on, Rach, you've got to do Leogang.
17:19And I was like, it's so stupid.
17:21And then we spoke to our team manager and he was like, absolutely not, you cannot come to Leogang.
17:26You've got no accommodation, you've got no mechanic, like, the chef can't cope, you can't come.
17:30And G was like, come on, of course she's got to go, like, you've just won the first World Cup.
17:40Oh, it's a nice umbrella.
17:42Oh, it's a nice umbrella.
17:51Wow.
17:54We've seen anything on Rach, is she coming back this week?
17:56I have no idea.
17:58I was, like, looking on Instagram and I thought she's going to show up, but then who knows.
18:04I don't even know what her goal is, like, are you going to come back the first season and expect
18:09to win the overall?
18:10I mean, she came back and won the first World Cup, which was pretty insane.
18:14I guess nobody expected it, neither did I, to be honest.
18:17Yeah, for sure.
18:18You can be a mom and have a family and still kick ass, so that's pretty impressive.
18:23But it would be sick if she comes back, but also, like, she said that she's not strong enough for
18:28racing yet, so I don't know.
18:33Welcome to the Austrian Alps and the second race of the season. It's a longer track here in Leogang.
18:40Rachel Afferton confirmed she will take the start this week.
18:45Good morning.
18:47Like, everyone is scared when she comes out, because, like, she's going to change the whole result.
18:52The way she just come back and did it, it's just so special.
18:56Being a mom and being able to perform at this level without, I mean, training, of course, but not 100%,
19:03then can she do it again?
19:09I feel like shit. It's so annoying.
19:13Yeah, I definitely questioned why I'm here. I was like, why am I here? What am I doing? I don't
19:18need to do this. Like, I don't need to push myself like this.
19:25There are women that have babies and go back to full-time training, but the sleep deprivation just ruined me.
19:31Like, that sleep deprivation has been worse than any crash I've ever had, you know.
19:36I just couldn't commit myself to a full-time training regime.
19:41It was actually really stupid, like I said a few times. With my history of injuries, I was like, this
19:45is so stupid. The main thing is I don't want to get hurt.
19:48You can't do it. You've got to do it two more times.
19:52Oh, it feels like it's just broken.
19:54Oh, God.
19:59It's not. It's fine.
20:01Hey, you gave birth. That's the biggest pain you can ever go through.
20:05Hey? Ha!
20:07Hey, and that you sustained that for hours.
20:10Just remember that time.
20:12Don't worry. It's fine.
20:15Adrenaline will kick in. We'll get some ice on it. You'll be fine.
20:18I still want to put you a crash.
20:20You're not going to.
20:20It's so slippery.
20:23I mean, crashing and getting hurt, you know, as you age is horrendous. It's really awful.
20:30It's about how much shit you can take.
20:40You need to be strong to do this sport, you know. I've had so many injuries and you need to
20:44train.
20:45Contrary to what a lot of people would think with downhill mountain biking,
20:48it is extremely, extremely physical sport.
20:52Yeah, gravity is pulling you down the hill and you're hitting some pretty gnarly holes and bumps and you've got
20:57to maintain your posture.
20:58So you need to be physically strong enough to provide energy to the muscles and the whole body to maintain
21:03those postures over a three minute run.
21:05And it sounds pretty easy on the surface because it's not really relatable to people who've never done it or
21:11don't do it at a high level.
21:12If you're well prepared physically, you're well prepared specifically for the demands of World Cup downhill, the chances of injury
21:18are reduced.
21:21Every generation learns, like Vali said, you learn a lot from the past generation and I feel like I had
21:27so many injuries.
21:29They all train like properly now, you know, from teenagers, like she's been training in the gym.
21:43I try to hit the gym like three to four times a week.
21:46The wife is on the bus, goes swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish.
21:58The most important reason for me to work is just to do like a lot of good injury prevention.
22:04So if you crash, you're strong enough and you don't break off any arms and legs.
22:09I think mommy should do the big jumps and risk a baddie?
22:13Or shall I stay safe so we can go to playgroup next week when we get home?
22:18So we go racing here with the elite women and we will do so in Leergang in Austria.
22:23I just want to ride and not die.
22:26So, semi-finals on their way. Another marathon race day starts right now.
22:38In the overall leaders jersey, Rachel Afferton.
22:43No champion at the top and look at the time, 2.6 of split streak.
22:472.6.
22:51Going well, Afferton, making it happen.
22:54Making it happen. She was cautious about her chances here this weekend.
23:00Afferton, going well.
23:02Takes flight, heads down the line.
23:05Rachel Afferton, speed talking her way into the hot seat.
23:08Catch me if you can. Rachel Afferton, fastest in the semi-final.
23:12And that is a marker, Cedric.
23:15Well, Leergang for me is not always one of the nicest places to go to, especially with the last few
23:20years.
23:21Oh, she goes down! The win has gone for her again. What a shame for the Austrian.
23:29Yeah, it's just like never worked in front of my home crowd.
23:31You know, this is a track where I should win, because it's my track.
23:36Valentina Ho, she spent her life riding in this bike park.
23:39She knows all the Lifty's first names, all her family and friends are here.
23:43Valentina Ho.
23:44She fancies a win here. At home, in Leergang.
23:49Look how aggressive Valentina Ho looks.
23:52Going to go fastest in the semi-final and grab some points.
23:55Wow! Wow!
23:57How's one way back, the other? Valentina Ho.
23:59So much time!
24:005.6 seconds, takes a semi-final win.
24:04She's won the qualifiers, she's won the semi-finals.
24:07Just a one session remains to win, and that is the all-important final.
24:13Yeah, I was pleased with that run, really.
24:15It's hard not to take risks, and then you realise it's not, like, meaning it's about later.
24:26Well, it's almost time to go racing here at the second round of the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup
24:322023.
24:35There are so many times where we say, oh, I wonder what it would have been like for this, you
24:41know, great to compete against the talent now.
24:44No one could have predicted the results we saw unfold last time out in Lenzerheide in Switzerland.
24:50I get a funny feeling that today, it's a very similar story.
24:53It's almost like two generational talents clashing at the same time, which I think is really, really special.
25:00I beat Valli at Lenzerheide, which is mental, and then she obviously stepped her game up.
25:05It's tough racing now, I feel like it's a good thing.
25:10The fastest moment in the world, Rachel Afferden, leaves the star hunt.
25:14It's like she's never been away. Rachel Afferden on track.
25:21The level that she brings to it, 1.4 seconds at the first split.
25:27At a race at the start of the year, she wasn't even sure if she was going to actually compete,
25:32and she wasn't even sure in Leah Gang if she was going to compete in this one.
25:35And she's just found 1.4 seconds at the first split.
25:39A 35-year-old is about to take out an 18-year-old from the hot seat.
25:42Is she going to add to her tally of three wins here in Leah Gang and make it number four?
25:48There's plenty of riders to come yet, but Rachel Afferden goes into the hot seat by half a second.
25:58It's a hot seat time, but is it going to stand up to scrutiny and be enough for Rachel Afferden
26:03to take her fourth win here in Leah Gang?
26:06We need to get a breath of air in here, Cedric, before this next race run.
26:11Valentina Hall, is she going to get that elusive home win?
26:32Valentina Hall, is she going to start at home in Leah Gang?
26:37She won the qualifying session, she won the semi-final session.
26:42Oh, she's fast, she's moving fast, and she's in green!
26:46Valentina Hall would love to win this in front of her friends and family still hunting that first win here
26:51in Leah Gang.
26:521.7 seconds to the good.
26:54Oh, she's moving fast.
26:55And I can tell you, the finish line section here, the crowd has gone bananas, as they've seen the times
27:00light up.
27:01She's on the run, definitely on the run!
27:031.7 seconds, the Austrian has got time to play with.
27:07Let's see what the first split is.
27:10Valentina Hall!
27:103.3!
27:12Valentina Hall is tearing them apart in Leah Gang.
27:15The crowd are going wild down here as Valentina Hall, the local hero, heads down towards the line in Leah
27:21Gang.
27:21Is it going to be enough to take the win?
27:23Come on Austria!
27:24Valentina Hall, crosses the line in Leah Gang.
27:27Goal!
27:27Valentina Hall wins in Leah Gang!
27:304.3 seconds!
27:324.3 seconds!
27:35Valentina Hall takes them apart in Leah Gang in Austria.
27:51Yeah, yeah, I felt like tearing up there in the finish and seeing Vali, you know, seeing like, I feel
27:56like last week I didn't ride like perfectly, I just rode safe and I won and it was like, it
28:01shouldn't be like that.
28:02Like, Vali's run then was amazing, you know, like, she was committed, everything was how the top of the sport
28:08should be, you know, how I used to be.
28:10And like, that's, that's how it should be to win.
28:13And congratulations to Tracy Vali!
28:20This is what it's about, like, this feeling.
28:23So maybe, yeah, like, maybe getting older and you, further in your career, like, it's cool to feel like those
28:29things for, for other people.
28:32Not many people get the chance to race with their hero and I'm pretty stoked I got to do that,
28:37to be at the top of the podium with her on the podium, so, that's one of the sickest feelings.
28:50You know, we spoke a lot over the last few years, when she was junior and when, you know, we
28:55messaged each other a lot and I'd always be giving her advice.
28:58I think, yeah, she doesn't need any, any more advice from me, she's doing it now and this is her,
29:03like, time now, so, yeah, it's pretty cool to watch.
29:08And it's so weird, like, it's so weird, like, not going to see you, not seeing you before my run.
29:17I know!
29:17Aw, Anna!
29:19Anna!
29:21Anna's annoyed with me because I haven't been with her in the day, so she's like, oh, she used me
29:26for milk and then she just goes off back to her, like, mum.
29:30And this really upsets me, but I can't have both, I can't do my racing and do my career and
29:37have her all the time, so she's like, cut and shoot me.
29:42Racing's an easy option, really, because it's so, it's just what I know how to do, but I don't know
29:48how to be a functioning adult in the real world.
30:03I've won six overall titles, I don't need any more.
30:06What I need to do is be with Anna and watch her grow up and figure out what my life
30:10is without racing bikes.
30:14I actually thought she would do a whole season, but she did Leogang and then she didn't come to Val
30:20Gasol.
30:20Rachel Atherton not competing this week after those two unbelievable performances to start off the season.
30:27Valentina Hall for RockShox Trek Misty, the winner of the last round at Women Austria is Valentina Hall.
30:36Yeah, it's super weird, like, seeing kind of Val Gasol start and I'm second in the overall, and it's tempting.
30:42It's so tempting to think, right, I'm just going to do it and do the whole year, but I'm not
30:47really willing to get hurt anymore.
30:48So, it's just going to be like watching myself go down the rankings and see where I end up.
30:56Valentina Hall crosses the line, Val Gasol takes the win by 2.9 seconds.
31:04She made that in three corners.
31:07To inspire a brand new generation, I feel like that can be the biggest accomplishment as an athlete and make
31:15them faster racers than the generation before.
31:19It's like the changing of the guard and it just kind of goes.
31:22It's under Valentina Hall taking them off. Valentina Hall wins in Ludenville-Peregou.
31:30Valley Hall is the real deal.
31:32She heads down towards the line to seal that overall title with her fourth win of the season.
31:40Valentina Hall celebrates with the crowd in Monsignan.
31:48I feel like Rachel would have a good chance if she would decide to come back next year for the
31:52overall, but I'm going to try to win too, so we can fight.
31:59Ana, wait for mummy.
32:01I could race still and be at the top, and that's almost enough now.
32:05I don't really feel the need to do it anymore.
32:07Just knowing that it's still there is enough for now.
32:11Whee!
32:13Bye!
32:15Ultimately, I don't want to miss any time with Ana. I don't want to miss seeing her grow up.
32:20So, I just don't know whether I'm going to do any more World Cups.
32:23Yeah! Oh, my God!
32:26I'm just trying to catch it.
32:33Hey, bye, pump track.
32:34Bye, pump track.
32:35Bye, pump track.
32:53Yes, sir.
32:54Can Loris Bergier finally clinch an overall title, or will it be one of his best friends, Loic Bruni?
33:02He started, I feel, to be tired of being in my shadow.
33:06Loic is super strong. I'm lazy and soft.
33:09I was just always looking up to Loic, and I was trying to catch up.
33:14I've been on the grind.
33:17Didn't get much sleep in my life.
33:25Ain't got no witnesses.
33:28I'm feeling that heat in the night.
33:30Can you guys start to find me?
33:32I'm tired.
33:33I'm tired.
33:35I'm tired.
33:38You are tired.
33:40I'm tired.
