00:00Hi cuties, I'm Armie Hammer.
00:03And not many people know this, but one of the most common side effects of Tourette's is cannibalism.
00:09While fans certainly devoured Connor Story's SNL hosting debut,
00:14this one sketch has gotten major backlash from disability advocates.
00:18The fake PSA, which was cut for time but put on YouTube,
00:22jokes that so-called cancelled celebs are now using Tourette syndrome
00:26as an excuse for their past behavior following John Davidson's racial slur incident at the 2026 BAFTAs.
00:33The SNL writers took aim at Mel Gibson, J.K. Rowling, Bill Cosby, Louis C.K., Kanye West, Armie Hammer,
00:41and Real Housewives of New York alum Jill Zarin.
00:44She was recently fired from the Roni reboot after publicly slamming Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show.
00:50It was the worst halftime show ever, and it's 250 years that we're celebrating right now in the United States,
00:58and I just don't think it was appropriate to have it in Spanish.
01:01And quite frankly, I didn't need to see him grabbing his, you know, G area.
01:05Zarin was axed from E!'s 10-episode docu-series titled The Golden Life,
01:10so SNL jumped at the opportunity to poke fun at her. Take it away, Sarah Sherman.
01:14But what you didn't know is that I suffer from severe, long-winded, monologue-style Tourettes.
01:21A condition that affects 9 out of 10 people on Long Island.
01:25However, some viewers felt the satirical skit was actually mocking people with disabilities.
01:30The tweet storm has been swirling since.
01:33That SNL Tourette sketch is disgusting. I've been pissed off all day.
01:38Wait, did SNL really compare Bill Cosby to John Davidson over the Tourettes?
01:43SNL claiming people with Tourettes is voluntary and a get-out-of-jail-free card?
01:48That card doesn't actually exist.
01:50F*** Saturday Night Live.
01:51Another ex-user claimed that host Connor's story was getting a pass
01:55because of the heated rivalry super fandom.
01:58Many thought this joke in particular crossed the line.
02:01But since it's Tourettes, I guess I have to be forgiven if not celebrated.
02:05The fake PSA was brought to you by the National Workforce of Rethinking Disabilities, or N-Word,
02:13a direct reference to Davidson's involuntary tick,
02:16which is blurted out while Sinners stars Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were presenting.
02:20On February 28th, the NAACP Image Awards host, Dion Cole, also addressed the Baptist controversy.
02:28If there are any white men out here in the audience, Lord, with Tourettes,
02:34I advise you to tell them they better read the room tonight, Lord.
02:39Coleman Domingo caught astray for this one.
02:41In response to the SNL uproar, UK charity Tourettes Action released this statement.
02:47Mocking a disability is never acceptable.
02:49It would not be tolerated for any other condition, and it should not be tolerated by people with Tourettes.
02:55Tourettes is a complex neurological condition of which there is no cure.
02:59It is not a joke.
03:00It is not a personality trait.
03:02It is not a source of entertainment.
03:04It is a condition that can be extremely debilitating, causing pain, isolation, and huge amounts of discrimination.
03:10John Davidson has also said he's deeply mortified if anyone considers my involuntary tics to be intentional or to carry
03:18any meaning.
03:19TLC star Baylen Dupree, who is Tourettes, defended him saying,
03:24People think if a slur comes out, it must reflect what's in your heart.
03:27But Tourettes doesn't pull from hatred.
03:29It pulls from anxiety, from fear, from the very thing you're most scared of saying.
03:34BAFTA and the BBC both apologized for the offensive on-air moment,
03:39and so did Google for initially pushing out an article that used the n-word in its uncensored form.
