00:00it's never fun to have to to go get surgery but why don't you just kind of walk us through
00:05what
00:05the last four or five months have been like for you i know it's been challenging but also
00:10probably been pretty okay to be home you know yeah it's been a lot of uh a lot of emotions
00:18a lot of feelings a lot of uh a lot of time um yeah it's kind of the best way
00:24i would describe
00:24it to to people is is in the beginning it's like doing nothing sounds awesome until it's the only
00:30thing that you can do then it's it sucks to be perfectly honest um but i mean i i definitely
00:36come to learn obviously the surgery is very important i was very you know lucky to to have
00:41a great great surgeon and dr koreshi but it just was um the rehab is just just as if not
00:47more
00:48important than the than the surgery itself so i took that very very seriously and and you know i
00:53basically was on the um the tail end of of any timeline you know if something was two to four
01:00weeks i would start at four weeks if it was four to six weeks i'd start at six weeks so
01:04i just i know
01:05that in golf you know i can be competitive and and and hopefully win tournaments for another you know
01:1112 15 years so the goal is to get this completely behind me and not have to worry about it
01:16anymore
01:16all right so jt i know you've bent down to pick up molly out of the crib
01:22was there any correlation between this injury and a in a basic dad everyday injury with whether
01:30it's getting her in and out of the car can we can we tie these things together at any point
01:34because
01:35i think i was going through some back problems right around the same time you were i'm like
01:38hey do i need to go under the knife too like am i okay uh for the sake of our
01:44uh our wives just
01:46giving us a hard time forever i'm gonna say no um i think it may have to do with the
01:51couple million
01:51golf shots that we've hit over our lives but uh yeah i mean i i've told jill being home more
01:57and
01:58obviously carrying molly more like i said to her i've said to her a couple times this week i'm like
02:02i don't get how you do it i'm like no offense it's like i'm stronger than you are but if
02:07i hold her for
02:08like five minutes i'm like y'all mom strength is real and uh yeah i'm i'm not i'm not built
02:14for it
02:14apparently but um yeah it's uh i'm not gonna fully fully blame that but i've definitely been working
02:20on my form as i pick her up now okay speaking of form i have to ask you this i
02:25know you've you know
02:26been rocking molly in the middle of the night i know she's much older now but you know in those
02:31early
02:31days when it's middle of the night you're sitting there trying to bounce her to sleep have you ever
02:35been bouncing her and worked on your golf swing while doing it um not in the chair um stand up
02:44stand up yeah you it's kind of man this is terrible yeah she's like a little medicine ball you can
02:50really load into your right side well i'm just curious if i'm the only one no you're you're not
02:55um unfortunately she doesn't well she does have a mirror so i can get if i go a little closer
02:59to her
03:00crib i can kind of check my position yeah it's on plane i haven't i haven't gotten to that point
03:04yet
03:05um because i also would be in the monitor's view so if uh i really would prefer if joe would
03:10not
03:11catch me in the mirror just loading it loading it here get a little lag right here it's not a
03:15consistent thing but i i've definitely done it a time or two how cool has it been to be a
03:19dad right
03:19you know i think perception is is an incredible thing uh especially for us as golfers and a professional
03:27athlete you're you have to be selfish by nature and i think once you have a child and and you
03:33have
03:34more responsibilities outside of waking up every morning and working hard and finishing the day and
03:39recovering and doing it all over again you have to fit this in the puzzle it has to be important
03:44to
03:44you and i know it's important to you yeah it's it's i mean it's it's obviously it's great it's been
03:50harder than i thought it it would be in the aspect of of just the um just the time you
03:57definitely don't
03:57feel like you you know you have enough that's not just me it's everybody and planet earth that's
04:02parents you don't feel like you have enough time in the day but you look around and you know whether
04:06it's you know i have some of my closest friends at home that have multiple kids and and i hate
04:11to
04:11give them credit but i'm like you know you got they're they're grinding working both both parents
04:17working jobs they got multiple kids and no help and it's like you know everybody finds a way to
04:22figure it out and i think that's the the coolest thing about it is there's no you know you i
04:29don't
04:29want to say right or wrong way but of how you go about it you got to do what's best
04:32for you but it
04:33definitely took a while for me to to i i used to not be a work a morning workout person
04:39but now i have to be
