00:00It's Tetris hanging out with Girl Set, talking about this single that's about to come tweak.
00:04How are you doing, ladies?
00:05Good, good.
00:06Okay, I gotta say, starting the track right away with the SWV sample.
00:13I was already ready to get in there.
00:16So tell me how you arrived at using that sample in kind of this wordplay with tweak and weak.
00:20I mean, I think we didn't really know that the sample was going to be used,
00:24but when we first heard the song, it was like obviously the intro of the song,
00:28and that was like...
00:30Really catching.
00:31Yes, we did not expect that, but we're like, no way.
00:34That's like so iconic.
00:36So I feel like it's really an honor to be able to have a little bit of that iconic song
00:42in our song.
00:43And it kind of sets the tone, I feel like, for tweak.
00:46It's like a twist, weak and tweak.
00:48It's kind of like the opposite, I would say, in terms of like meaning.
00:51It really ties in together.
00:59And talk about the meaning of the song.
01:01I mean, you guys obviously recently re-debuted.
01:03So tell me about the sound you wanted to create and what the meaning of the song is.
01:06Yeah, I mean, it's really about like standing your ground.
01:10As we say, a stupid boy anthem, someone who keeps pushing your boundaries, your limits.
01:14It's also an emotional song, but maybe in the opposite way.
01:17And we loved enhancing the emotional aspect, but in a way where it's kind of like standing on business,
01:21but also being real with yourself, keeping yourself in check.
01:25And like the title says, tweak.
01:31I think that's what's great about songs like this, like especially girl anthems, where it's like,
01:35listen, I might be in my feelings, I might have these emotions going on,
01:37but we're going to have a good time while we're talking about it.
01:39Yeah, exactly.
01:40And you said stupid boy anthem, so now I've got to ask, like,
01:42what's a stupid boy thing that gets on your nerves?
01:44I need everybody to give me one.
01:48She's got plenty.
01:48She's like, I've got a list.
01:49Let me pull up the list.
01:52I mean, I think honestly, it's kind of like the lyrics of the song, to be honest.
01:57Like someone that doesn't reciprocate the same love and like, I guess, effort that you put in the relationship.
02:06Someone that doesn't see it the same way or loves you the same way you do.
02:10I think that like, it's a big thing.
02:12Because sometimes I feel like people will be in relationships just to be in a relationship.
02:16But then it's also to realize that if the relationship's not giving you or each other what you need,
02:21and it's just draining you mentally, then it's not what you need.
02:28I think that and also just like, no communication, like poor communication style.
02:34For me, that's a big thing.
02:35Like, I don't want to be, you know, dealing with that.
02:38So, yes.
02:39What you got?
02:41You know, the biggest thing is, it's literally in the lyrics, don't push me to my limits.
02:47I hate when people think that I'm like the soft person.
02:50I can be nice.
02:51Okay.
02:51But when you upset me, I'm going to be so for real with you.
02:56All right.
02:56Now I got to be on my piece in here.
02:58I'm going to never make her mad.
03:04And then I want to talk to you guys about some really cool things you guys have obviously
03:07also done.
03:08Working with Missy Elliott.
03:14Iconic.
03:15So tell me how it was to have her involved with your music.
03:17I mean, it was crazy when we heard about Missy Elliott, at least me, like I grew up listening
03:22to Missy Elliott a lot.
03:23And so I was like, no way, like she's an icon, like the queen.
03:26No, it was insane to first hear that.
03:29And I was super excited to hear her verse.
03:30It was really cool.
03:31I feel like it fit Little Miss, like the vibe a lot.
03:35Yes.
03:36Because then we also wanted to like honor her and like the love for her by doing a cover
03:42of one of her songs, Work It, which we did a dance to.
03:45And she loved it.
03:47And so we were just really grateful for everything we did with her.
03:50And I feel like with her in general, everybody I see her work with, I feel like she only works
03:54with people like she really believes in.
03:56That was crazy.
03:57That was insane.
03:58She's given us a lot of support.
03:59Like she sent us like a nice message too.
04:02Yeah.
04:02And so it was really heartwarming to see from her.
04:05And then I got to tell you, you guys have me really going with it.
04:08Give me more with Britney Spears for Halloween.
04:10Like she's an icon.
04:12Like how was it to like take your own spin on that song and capture some Britney?
04:16I think to be honest, that's a song that I always wanted to do like for us.
04:21Because I feel like it really fits our vibe in a way.
04:26It's girl said, bitch.
04:30Britney's so iconic.
04:31So I think we needed to do a Britney song and give me more just, especially for Halloween,
04:37it just went perfectly with what we were thinking.
04:39But I feel like you got to set a bar now.
04:41So next Halloween, you got to be thinking.
04:43I know.
04:43We're already thinking.
04:45She's like, I'm already on it.
04:46We're seeing like the fans like say stuff and we're like, keep it in mind.
04:50But also we have ideas ourselves.
04:52Okay.
04:53They'll be excited.
04:54And then I wanted to ask you also about girl groups.
04:56You did the SWV sample.
04:57Like there's so many iconic girl groups.
04:59I thought about the Spice Girls and I wanted to know if each one of you right now could give
05:03yourself a adjective.
05:05Like if you were a Spice, I want to know what everybody's Spice would be.
05:08Maybe.
05:11Dang.
05:13Savory.
05:14Savory Spice?
05:15I don't know.
05:16Okay.
05:16Really?
05:18Sugar?
05:19Sugar Spice?
05:21Sugar?
05:21I don't know.
05:22Sugar?
05:22Savory and Sugar.
05:23We're all in flavors right now.
05:24A seasoning.
05:25I don't know.
05:25I like this.
05:27A specific seasoning.
05:28Cinnamon Spice.
05:30Oh.
05:31Cinnamon.
05:32Do you like that one?
05:32Okay, for you.
05:33For me?
05:34Yeah.
05:34Cinnamon Spice?
05:35Yes.
05:35I like it.
05:36It's a little different.
05:37Spicy.
05:38Spicy.
05:39Just spicy in general.
05:42Yes.
05:43I like it and.
05:46I don't know why the first thing that came to my head.
05:48It's so random.
05:49Cumin.
05:50What?
05:50Did you say cumin?
05:51Cumin.
05:52Oh my God.
05:53Cumin.
05:54That's nice.
05:54That's so random.
05:55I want the t-shirts now.
05:57So good.
05:57And then as you guys are debuting this new song and fans are enjoying your new music,
06:02what do you want your music to say?
06:04Like how important is the creation process for you guys with songwriting and getting your
06:07message out there?
06:08I mean, I think the biggest thing always is authenticity.
06:12We're going to write about so many different things.
06:14We've gone through so many different experiences.
06:16But really showing our fans and people who have stuck with us or even new people, our story
06:21is something that we've always wanted to do and will continue to do.
06:25I think we just want people to like, it's kind of, I don't know if it's cringy, but like
06:28have a safe space like in our music.
06:31Because I feel like also songs like later down the line, I feel like also that we've written
06:36like hit a lot of, you know, topics and just like, I don't know, like a safe space
06:42that I feel like people can relate to, hopefully.
06:44And so I think that would make us happy if people could relate.
06:47Well, the ladies will definitely be relating to Tweek and the boys, the boys too.
06:51Thank you guys so much for hanging out with me today.
06:53Thanks.
