Airlines suspend or limit services on some routes, with passengers advised to check updates before travelling.

00:01Birmingham Airport says a number of routes have been disrupted after several countries
00:06in the Middle East restricted or closed airspace following military exchanges involving Iran,
00:12the United States and Israel.
00:14On Monday, the airport's public departures board showed cancellations on services scheduled
00:20for Doha and Dubai, with knock-on effects on long-haul connections to cities including
00:26Mumbai and Delhi.
00:27Airlines operating from Birmingham, including Qatar Airways and carriers based in the United
00:34Arab Emirates, have temporarily suspended or limited flights while they assess safety
00:40and routing.
00:41Qatar Airways has said it is working with authorities to support affected passengers and intends
00:47to restart services when airspace reopens.
00:51The UK Foreign Office has updated travel advice for parts of the region and has said it is
00:56preparing support for British nationals whose journeys have been interrupted.
01:01The airport says flight decisions are made by airlines and it is directing customers to
01:07contact their carrier or travel provider for re-booking, refunds and accommodation arrangements.
01:13Passengers are also advised to monitor official travel advice and to keep emergency contact details
01:19up-to-date before travelling.
01:20Travellers are urged to confirm their booking before setting off and keep documents and contact
01:26numbers accessible.
