00:00The Bachelor Mansion is one of reality TV's most iconic locations.
00:04Why was it so desperately in need of a makeover?
00:07Well, I think, yeah.
00:08Oh, I was going to say, have you seen the place?
00:10Yeah, it's been 26 years since anyone's touched that house.
00:13All they do is just paint over what was happening last year.
00:16And when we were there, we were taking off the paint,
00:19and the paint slab was, like, this thick.
00:22It was, like, 26 layers of just paint for each season.
00:25Yeah, it'd be, like, right here, this orange color is where Tayshia was making out with Colton,
00:29and then this purple color was when Tyler was kissing Hannah.
00:32Like, it's magical.
00:33Yeah, if only those walls can talk.
00:36You both have done your fair share of hosting in the past,
00:39but how did your experience as judges differ?
00:44Well, it wasn't as, well, I guess it was pretty stressful, actually.
00:47It was, like, a different type of stress, though.
00:50Before, I think, like, you're kind of on edge, like, I don't know,
00:55you're trying to, like, compare yourself to all these other people,
00:57you want to get time, you, like, are kind of in your head.
01:00But this time, I think we're just kind of, like, judging other people.
01:04We feel bad.
01:04We want to make, like, the right decision of, like, who's actually competing well
01:07and who's giving their time here, there.
01:09It's different.
01:10Honestly, I loved it.
01:11I was, I feel like I was in control.
01:12I feel like I was almost the bachelor, which I never got to be,
01:15because I had the power now.
01:16So I get to see what these people do, how well they work together,
01:20and how well their design comes out.
01:22Yeah.
01:22And then I get to say, that's better than that one, that's better than that one.
01:25When you're just a contestant, you're kind of just hoping you get to kiss the girl,
01:29you know, and move on.
01:30So, like, this was a whole other way of being in the Bachelor Mansion
01:33and much easier, much more relaxed.
01:36Much easier.
01:36And, I mean, our contestants did make it tough for us,
01:39because they did a great job.
01:40Unlike your typical HGTV shows,
01:43I was really shocked that there were weekly eliminations on the table
01:47on Bachelor Mansion Takeover.
01:48How sad were you to see people leave the competition?
01:51Well, it wouldn't be a Bachelor show if we didn't have eliminations.
01:54And everybody was a little upset about it, actually,
01:59because they're the ones, at times,
02:01that had to decide who was getting eliminated,
02:03and they were not prepared for that.
02:05In fact, Tyler got...
02:06I got bombarded.
02:07He took the heat for both of us.
02:08He got yelled at, being like,
02:10we never expected for this to be the case.
02:12Yeah, I think the best moment was when...
02:14Because this is a great thing.
02:15It's a great marriage.
02:16We have Bachelor Nation, HGTV, coming together, getting married.
02:20But what that means is you get the Bachelor drama
02:22with the HGTV design and build.
02:24Put that together, you have eliminations, you have drama.
02:27So when we told them that this is an elimination show,
02:30they're like, oh, I thought this was the HGTV show.
02:32No, this is a Bachelor HGTV show.
02:35We're going to have eliminations, and we're going to get after it.
02:36You're not going to get off that easy.
02:38If someone's going to try to win $100,000,
02:40you best believe it's going to be a stressful show,
02:42and there's going to be drama.
02:43I am always blown away by how talented Bachelor Nation is.
02:48Is there anyone's skills in design, reno,
02:52that really took you by surprise?
02:54All of them had a lot of really incredible talent
02:59that you would never know, obviously, watching the show,
03:02because we don't have opportunities to really shine
03:04those type of qualities.
03:06But, I mean, you know who took you by surprise was Tammy.
03:10She's a real estate agent and also a designer.
03:14Yeah, I mean, her job list goes on and on and on.
03:17And then also, like, Chris, who is part of the Golden Bachelorette,
03:22he's also been, like, a contractor for 20 years.
03:24So, obviously, his level of expertise was just, like, incredible to see.
03:28Who else?
03:29You know, just from top to bottom, everyone had a background in design
03:33or real estate or build of some sort,
03:35and they all brought a different element to the game.
03:38Yeah.
03:38We have people that have historical architectural skills,
03:42and, I mean, everyone added such an interesting element
03:44to what made this house so special.
03:46So, I don't want to say who I thought was great,
03:49because I want you to see.
03:50Okay.
03:50First of all...
03:52This girl over here is spoiling stuff, you know?
03:55Listen, you have to see, like, there's a lot of...
03:57Like, people really surprise you in the show,
03:59and I...
04:00It's just sad that we didn't get to see Tayshia use tools much.
04:03You know, I would have loved to have seen you with, like, a hammer and a...
04:06Listen, you wouldn't want to see that,
04:08because I'm going to put you to shame.
04:10I'd love to see it.
04:12Well, Tayshia, you know, you clearly have an eye for interior design.
04:16Have you ever thought about going into the field?
04:19Actually, yeah.
04:20So, on my season of The Bachelor,
04:22I actually was working at an interior design company,
04:26and I went straight back to work after I got off the show for about a year.
04:31So, I've always kind of had, you know, a passion for it.
04:36I just...
04:37I don't know.
04:38Maybe I got a little intimidated,
04:40because there's so many incredible people.
04:41But being in New York,
04:42I feel like designing my apartments for each different, like, borough,
04:46I feel like it all has a different element to it.
04:49And right now, my apartment down in downtown in Seaport,
04:53I feel like I have more of, like, a fun flair than I did in Soho.
04:57So, maybe I might pursue it a little bit more.
04:59Who knows?
05:00I think you should.
05:01I mean, you're a little fashionista,
05:02so it's just the same thing, but dressing up your house.
05:04Yeah, basically.
05:05Just a little more jewels.
05:06Well, and Tyler,
05:07you are one of the brightest new stars in the Sirhan staple.
05:12You know, what has it been like working with Ryan throughout the process?
05:18Incredible.
05:19I mean, working with Ryan, just to watch him lead
05:22and to watch him, you know, just be there for everyone.
05:24I don't know how he is so responsive to everybody,
05:27but he is just a robot that can't stop.
05:30Like, he is truly incredible.
05:31Someone I look up to in the space.
05:32So, to be around, to be in the meetings,
05:35to listen to him, to watch him,
05:36has been so inspiring to me
05:38and has changed the way I look at things,
05:40the way I work now,
05:41and it means I got to really pick it up.
05:44Well, on social media yesterday,
05:46we saw you got into a snowball fight with Ryan at the office.
05:50Tyler Cameron.
05:51Tyler, chill.
05:52Chill.
05:53Oh!
05:55I am at work!
05:56Is that a typical boss-employee relationship?
05:59You know, I don't think so,
06:01but I was trying to, you know, wake him up a little bit,
06:03get him to come outside.
06:04Like, sometimes you got to put the work away.
06:06Like, I literally caught him in between four Zoom meetings.
06:08You know, and he was the only person
06:11working at the office yesterday.
06:12Everyone at home during the snow blizzard,
06:15guess where Ryan Serhan is?
06:16In the office.
06:17So, I had to try and get him out of the office a little bit.
06:19Did not work.
06:20He kicked me out and went back to work.
06:22The series' first challenge is a revamp
06:24and redesign of the contestants' sleeping quarters.
06:26How badly were they in need of an upgrade?
06:29Oh, my gosh.
06:30If only you knew where we slept
06:33and what we slept on.
06:35It is like, I shouldn't say a hostel,
06:37but it was kind of like that.
06:39It was.
06:40I mean, there's one room in particular
06:42that you're going to see,
06:43the one that I actually slept in
06:44while I was a contestant at the mansion.
06:46There's ten girls that sleeps in one room.
06:49So.
06:50What a dream.
06:51Yeah.
06:52For Tyler, okay?
06:54Try having suitcases
06:55and try to get ready for, like,
06:57a rose ceremony with ten women.
07:00It was mayhem.
07:02I remember the bunk room
07:02just being, like, such a fun place
07:04to bond and connect.
07:06Like, it was kind of, like, surreal.
07:07Like, I was 26 years old.
07:09I was just trying to play professional football,
07:11starting to work.
07:11And next thing you know,
07:12I'm in a bunk bed full of, like, eight other guys.
07:14I'm like, this is a wild turn in life,
07:16but this is kind of fun.
07:17And we kind of all bonded through that.
07:19You do kind of lay there and be like,
07:20how did I get here?
07:21In addition to yourselves,
07:23you welcomed so many great judges to the show.
07:26Who were you most excited to have on?
07:28Oh, my gosh.
07:29I mean, I grew up watching HGTV,
07:31so seeing, like, Christina Hack
07:33and Nate Burgess was, like, insane.
07:35I was starstruck by that.
07:37Yeah.
07:38I mean, I just love seeing an ex,
07:40so that was great.
07:41We had a great time.
07:42We hit it off.
07:44JoJo Fletcher was someone
07:46who I've always wanted to meet.
07:47I think she is such a star.
07:49So to see her, Christina Hack was incredible.
07:54Nate Burgess.
07:56Nate Burgess is iconic.
07:57And he came in,
07:58and just to see the way he articulated the room
08:00and talked about design and just,
08:02I was in awe.
08:03So, like, to be around, you know,
08:05the amazing talent that HGTV has
08:07and to hear them speak design,
08:09it just truly was fun to be next to.
08:12It was also really cool to see
08:13Hannah and I back at the mansion
08:15because we started there together
08:16and then to see it transform,
08:19especially we lived in the same room as well.
08:21So it was really fun to have her there
08:23and have her guest judge for us then.
08:25It was really fun.
08:26Obviously, the next season of The Bachelorette
08:28is fast approaching.
08:30What are your thoughts on Taylor Frankie Paul
08:32as The Bachelorette?
08:33Oh, she's going to bring so much spunk
08:36and pizzazz to The Bachelorette.
08:38Like, I am excited.
08:39I haven't watched The Bachelorette in years.
08:41I will be tuning in
08:42because this is going to be a beautiful mess.
08:45Yeah, I feel like she's really going to shake everything up
08:48and it's going to be exactly what the franchise really needed.
08:51Also, we made the place spectacular,
08:53so I'm excited to see where she kind of connects
08:55with some of the guys.
08:58Yeah, she's going to do great.
08:59I'm so excited for her.
09:01And, Tayshia, if you had any advice for Taylor,
09:03what would it be?
09:04I actually already told her.
09:06I told her just, you know,
09:08you can't look at us for any advice, really,
09:10because this is all your own journey
09:12and I don't want her to copy any of us
09:14in any way, shape, or form
09:15except for just to give it your all
09:16and just be in the moment
09:17and fall in love.
09:19Do your thing.
