01:14This is the duty and the burden of a free people.
01:19These actions are right and they are necessary to ensure that Americans will never have to face a radical, bloodthirsty
01:28terrorist regime armed with nuclear weapons and lots of threats.
01:33U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hexeth spoke to widening concerns about the conflict spiraling, suggesting it would not be endless.
01:41My generation of veterans carry the names of brothers who never came home.
01:47Brothers butchered by Iranian-backed roadside bombs and well-armed militias, thousands of our own.
01:56We didn't start this war, but under President Trump, we are finishing it.
02:02Speaking on the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Hexeth claimed Washington was not seeking to change the
02:09Iranian regime.
02:11U.S. officials have not offered any exit plan or signs that the conflict would end anytime soon,
02:16and Hexeth dismissed questions about Trump's suggested time frame.
02:25Two unmanned drones that were headed in the direction of a British military base in Cyprus were intercepted on Monday,
02:32a government spokesperson has said.
02:35The incident took place a few hours after an Iranian attack drone landed on an airfield in the base on
02:41Sunday night, causing minor damage.
02:44The British Royal Air Force base is located in the Akrotiri area of Cyprus.
02:48Residents have been evacuated in the areas surrounding Akrotiri, as well as those around an additional British military base in
02:56Dekelia.
02:57After the unprecedented circumstances in the edge of the Cyprus, I convinced Mr. Palma, that Greece, in the end of
03:10the period of the crisis,
03:11crisis, will come in any way, in the defense of the Kyprian democracy, so that the threats
03:22and the external forces are on its ground.
03:28Paphos International Airport was also evacuated as a precaution.
03:33The Greek government has since sent two frigates and two F-16 fighter jets to support
03:39the defense operations on the island.
03:42The Cypriot government has reiterated that its own role is limited to humanitarian assistance
03:47and it is not taking part in any military operations.
03:53I want to be clear.
03:56Our country does not act in any way,
04:01nor is it supposed to be a part of any political organization.
04:06We remain confined to the human role,
04:11which we served all this time,
04:14always as part of the solution,
04:17and not of the problem,
04:19and we will continue to work with the same responsibility.
04:25In just a few days, the UAE has faced an unprecedented wave of drone and missile attacks.
04:31The UAE Ministry of Defense says Iranian forces have launched 165 missiles,
04:37two cruise missiles and 541 drones since February 28th.
04:42Most were intercepted, 152 ballistic missiles and both cruise missiles were destroyed,
04:47along with 506 drones, but some did get through.
04:5235 drones fell inside the country, causing material damage and 21 struck civilian areas.
04:58The human cost has been stark.
05:01Three people were killed and 58 others were injured.
05:04Debris for interceptors caused further damage to homes and property.
05:08And just behind me, the hotel was struck by a drone last night.
05:12A reminder of how close the attacks came to residential and civilian areas.
05:17Officials say the UAE's air defenses remain fully operational
05:21and ready to respond to any further threats,
05:24but they warn the danger is far from over.
05:27Behind me, the Palm Jumeirah looks peaceful and calm now.
05:30That's a stark contrast to yesterday.
05:33Last night, the sky above lit up with interceptor fire.
05:37A loud explosion shook the area as missiles and drones were destroyed mid-air.
05:42It's a vivid reminder of the risk that hung over the city.
05:46Today has been tense, but in this rare moment of calm that we face right now,
05:52officials are urging everyone to remain vigilant and follow guidance from embassies and the government.
05:56Amid this uncertainty, there are moments of solidarity and resilience.
06:02Residents and businesses have come together to support those most affected.

06:31For the third day in a row, people in Qatar woke up to multiple early morning Iranian missile attacks,
06:37which were seen intercepted right above where I'm standing in Doha's West Bay District in the city centre,
06:42which would normally be bustling with traffic at this time of day.
06:45This morning's ten minute wave of Iranian missiles was also unleashed simultaneously on Dubai,
06:50with our colleagues reporting from there.
06:52Last night, the British Ministry of Defence said it took out a Shahed drone heading towards Qatari airspace,
06:57indicating the UK has joined the requested Allied effort to stop the onslaught across the region.
07:02Meanwhile, the government has extended its shelter-in-place order,
07:05so most people are working from home and schools have shifted to remote learning.
07:09Qatar's airspace remains closed, rounding all flights and stranding thousands of passengers,
07:13and those numbers are growing by the hour.
07:16Qatar continues to be on high alert.
07:18Residents are staying off the streets, as mobile national alerts are urging them to do so.
07:23The air defences here appear to be particularly effective,
07:25as the vast majority of ballistic missiles and drones have been intercepted,
07:30sending blast shockwaves throughout the city.

07:45Spain's Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albaraz, has told Euronews flagship programme Europe Today.
07:50He also condemned Iran's retaliatory strikes against several other nations in the Middle East.
07:55We see today that the war is spreading in the whole region in the Middle East.
08:00There are unjustified attacks from Iran to many countries in the Middle East that we clearly condemn.
08:08Today we are seeing the extension of the war to Lebanon,
08:12and the instability in the region is something that really worries us.
08:17He added that as the conflict spills over into the wider region,
08:21Spain and the European Union must be a voice of reason,
08:25a voice that tries to put some balance in what's happening,
08:28that speaks of de-escalation and going back to diplomacy and negotiation.
08:32Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is the only EU leaders to have openly condemned

08:52The Eurostox 50 shed 2% at the open, with indices in Paris, Milan and Madrid all seeing sharp declines
08:59as the conflict threatens global shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
09:02In Spain, the IBEX 35 is the worst performer, dropping more than 2%,
09:07while London's FTSE 100 remains more resilient, falling just 0.3%.
09:12The sell-off followed a freefall in Asia, where Japan's Nikkei 225 dropped over 2.3% before the European
09:19bells even rang.
09:21In the UAE, regulators have shut down both the Abu Dhabi and Dubai exchanges for the next several days to
09:27prevent panic setup.
09:29While stocks sink, energy prices are soaring, with a barrel of U.S. benchmark crude initially surging 8% amid
09:36supply concerns.
